Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in other cities:
The lack of customer service skills at this place is outstanding. Twice I have been yelled at by the waiters. I made a mistake with my order, and instead of de escalating the situation by offering me to correct it, the waiter kept yelling at me saying “that’s what you ordered.” I’ve been coming to this place since I moved to Amarillo 4 years ago. Food is delicious, but I don’t feel like being treated like garbage every time I try to get some food. By the way, it’s was my birthday and this lady ruined it. They lost several loyal customers and I’ll make sure everyone knows about the horrible way they treat clients.
Love the staff and chefs at this very family friendly Japanese steakhouse. They have sushi bar too. The prices are great and the menu is full of options. The chefs do a very authentic show of blades and spatulas flying and spinning. All the meats and vegetables are fresh. The spices are perfect. Enjoy.
The worst restaurant experience ever! The manager yelled at me for changing my child on the couch because he had no changing table in the bathroom. He told me to change her on the floor or my car (we Ubered there). Awful, disrespectful and illegal! Restaurants are required to provide changing tables over 50 in capacity! Parents: do not go here! They will shame you!
We’ve been here a handful of times. The first time we ever went for just sushi it was good and fresh. Second time we sat at the hibachi also fun and good food although the food was a bit too oily for my liking. This most recent time we went we just ordered sushi, it wasn’t fresh and there was a foul sewage smell throughout the entire restaurant. I always knew the bathrooms in the restaurant weren’t the best but now it effects the entire restaurant.Really unfortunate as we can’t find many other spots in Amarillo that we enjoyed sushi. Wait staff however was nice and she was very quick.
It was okay. A bit disappointed seeing it was our first time. My husband had the Drunken Monkey Sushi Roll, I hat yhe Hibachi Steak & Shrimp. It was cooked perfectly But the vegetables were drowning in soy sauce along with the over cooked soggy rice. The noodles tasted awful. Will not be back. Well stick to Sumo and Kabuki.
Food was average. Ordered steak hibatchi. Show was very basic. Problem came when bill had 3 adult orders instead of 2 adults 1 kid. The manager doing tickets was very rude and refused to change it. The waitress took to owner and got it fixed. Other people we were with were overcharged too. Its not our fault they cooked it different than the way we ordered it.
Waited a good 10-15 minutes before they took our drink order. Waited almost an hour before they ever came out to cook. No kids menu at lunch. The waitress tried getting my kids to order extra rice when she knew we wanted them to have kids portions. Barely cooked the rice and noodles. Didn’t put any soy sauce on steak when he cooked it. The cook was in too big of a hurry. The waitress brought tickets as we were eating and then expected everyone at the table to stop eating and pay. Going down hill big time!! This place is disgusting, floor need cleaned!
Perfect Hibachi meal - chicken, shrimp, steak, or vegetable- everytime. Miso soup is just right temperature on every occasion as well which allows for the full taste. Unlike other places that bring it scaddling leaving the flavor lacking, not here Tokyo leaves you wanting second helpings of soup. Salad is provide before meal. Rice is plenty, but extra is advised Id you are not a fan of wide noddles. The noodles are pretty good to me and I typically would avoid these wide noddles (even on reheat of leftovers they hold up). The veggies include broccoli and carrots that other hibachi places leave out.Personally enjoy my meals at home better than at the grill- tries both. (Ordering for pick is just my style.) The to-go service is very pleasent every time; polite and helpful people on the phone taking order. Picking up a easy process. Definely recommend.
I ordered 3 chicken plates. To go.Everything was burned not toasty not lightly charred. BURNED on one side until black. The vegetables were completely unrecognizable.Just a mess of burned oily residue. The chicken was the same totally black on bottom and grey on top. Even the rice was burned and greasy. All 3 meals were completely disgusting.Dont throw away money eating here. The one star is more credit then they deserve.
Generally, this restaurant is fantastic, and I would give a 4 or 5 star rating. Today is a 1 star. I took my children there for lunch today to celebrate school being out for summer. Wait time was expected today. We were told 35 to 45 minutes and were seated in 30 minutes. That was the bright spot for this visit. It was another 20 to 25 minutes before anyone came to our table, and then only because my wife waved down someone and asked. The woman was the owner, who half ignored her, and then about 5 minutes later came back and hurriedly took our orders, mumbling something about the servers and that she was the owner. It took another 5 minutes or so for our drinks to arrive. Soups took a while to get to the table. Just as soups arrived, so did the chef, who hurriedly flew through cooking. The fried rice might have stayed on the grill 60 seconds before he hurriedly slopped it around to everyones plates, only to find that it was horribly salty and overseasoned. Everything else was cooked and thrown at the plates in the same fashion. We had to ask for sauces, much to the chagrin of the chef. My daughters hot tea finally showed up halfway through the meal and my sons appetizer showed up just as we were finishing the meal. We watched the same chef come out and serve another table a few minutes after us, and it was like watching a completely different chef and show. He did things for that table that he didnt even slow down long enough to do at our table. It was very evident that they forgot they had seated us, and from the moment they realized it, instead of trying to make up for it in any manner, they railroaded us through as fast and sloppily as they could. We spent $86 on this meal, and it should have been half that or less by the service we received. Unacceptable!!
I placed an order through for door dash and it said it would take about an hour which was completely fine. Then about an hour later I get a text from my Dasher saying the restaurant doesnt do DD and they werent going to make my order. Then why is it an option to place an order on the app? Then I tried to call and it says the number is out of service. Very poor first experience
My boyfriend and I went last night and had a great time! Reasonably priced for the portion sizes, and the chef put on a great show! If you plan on going around dinner time, be sure to have a reservation or put your name on this list early, it was a busy place Friday night!
Love the food but the wait is ridiculous. One waiter is all they have at the moment. We were told 20 minute wait. Its been over an hour. They do have a help wanted sign on the door. This isnt the first time its taken forever.....still here 2 hours later and now they cant get our tickets straight. Where is the owner? These poor people are drowning.
Generally they have great tasting food. But their customer service is disrespectful. I was attempting to make a take out order, only to have them answer and hang up on me two times in a row. Then they just stopped answering the phone all together. I only got the words “Hello I would like to make an order out.”
Ive always liked this place.Today the food was SPOT ON. I cant thank them enough for that. Considering theyre super short staffed. My food was ready in a timely manner as well.I tried to call and make the order to go but couldnt seem to get anybody to answer, no big deal, I go up to the restaurant and place my order there. Only had to wait about 20 minutes.
First time Ive eaten here or any Japanese restaurant in Texas. I gave 3⭐ cause I dont have any other places to compare to. I wasnt really wowed or overly satisfied 😕 🤔 . I chefs attitude was great and the atmosphere was very nice and ordinary 👌. I will return and eat again.
Since when do they refuse to remove mushrooms from your vegetables? I told the waiter that I am allergic to mushrooms and he went to let them know in the kitchen. The management said they were unable to cook the vegetables separately. I love the mixed vegetables you get with the meal but since I cant have mushrooms I cant have anything. They have always done this for us. Such a disappointment..
One of our favorite restaurants in Amarillo and one we always brought our guests to when they came to visit. They have live cooking available if you want it and the cooks certainly put on a show as they slice, dice and stir-fry away. The servers are very friendly and efficient. The food is always fresh and delicious. I have never had a bad experience here and the standard they have maintained has never dropped. Love the sushi and seafood they serve!
First time I was here. Hostess greeted within moments of arrival. I explained I wanted to order to go. She gave me a menu and time to look it over. I received my order very fast. The mushroom soup was wonderful, great flavor. My teriyaki steak was excellent, cooked to order. While I waited for my order, I enjoyed watching the chefs prepare food for the in-house guests. I hope to return to experience that for myself.
I had high hopes for this place, I mean they have good reviews and somewhat good aesthetics. I was very disappointed with my visit. The cons; bad ventilation within the building leading to high temperature due to the grills, the place seemed to be missing some aesthetics but the ones that have sufficed, the waiter was all over the restaurant and very rarely visited the table making it difficult to ask questions and order something extra like wine, the hibachi steak we ordered was around $21 or so and the cook didn’t give us our full portion and actually split our steak with the rest of the table which was ridiculous in my opinion since we work hard for our money everyday and then we end up paying a decent price for a meal and it is then given to others, just bad business. Pros; the food is good, the cook we had was amazing with his tricks and I really enjoyed the show, the place seemed lacking in aesthetics but was to a good degree pleasing aesthetically. To sum it all up there are some wonderful things about this place but there are also VITAL aspects that need improvement which will and have determined my decision to return. Due to our experience I will not be returning because I do not wish to have my money wasted, not have contact with my waiter, and be hot during my entire visit.
This my preferred sushi spot since moving to Amarillo. Very good food. Just wish they were a bit quicker with getting the food out but it’s not a dealbreaker. Only had one bad experience. My wife asked for a California roll and it never came. We already had food on our table so we weren’t in a rush for the sushi. They gave us the bill and charged us for the sushi even though we never got it. We insisted and they refuse to acknowledge the facts. Manager came and said they did give us the sushi. A decent manager would at least take it off the bill but the idiot didn’t do it for us. Whatever...you win some you lose some.
The food was cold, then after we complain they cooked again. The food returned again cold, and the plate was dirt .My dog eats better!!!Rice was grease, pasta was bad.The only good thing was the water.Wish could left the table when the food arrived at the second time.Never eat there againNEVER
The five of us were squeezed in between other families and my husband did not have any space for his legs. He had to lean over to eat his food. This was unacceptable. The food was tasty but not for the price we paid. Two sushi and dinner for five was 160$. No drinks. I expected way more than my food being slapped down onto my plate. The bathrooms were strange and dirty. The service was very slow. The lack of atmosphere took away from the enjoyment of my dinner.
I went into this restaurant expecting it to be amazing and was thoroughly disappointed. We ordered a couple of rolls, rice, and appetizers. My order came out about 15 minutes after my sisters, but even that would have been ok because they were steady. When my order finally showed up, it was not correct and there was not a manager in sight. The roll was remade and placed in a to go box as requested, but there was no apology for making the order wrong or making us wait for our order in the first place. I will not not be going back
The food was absolutely delicious!!! We were seated in a very timely manner despite getting there at their busiest time. The waitress was amazing brought everything out in time and the cook blew our minds with his talent. Prices were ro be expected for the location. Will definitely be back!!!
Ive been frequenting this establishment for approximately a year now and Ive started going at least once a month. It has never faltered in its quality. Always the best hibachi style food, unbelievably low prices, and extremely generous portions. The flavor rivals that of all other similar restaurants where Ive eaten. Awesome and unique sushi & appetizers. What an amazing place!
Found this place almost by mistake after doing my taxes a few years ago. To this day, my favorite restaurant in all of Amarillo. Best hibachi I’ve had. Sushi is great. I always get the fillet hibachi dinner. The noodles are out of this world! Plus the two complimentary grilled shrimp bang! Never had a complaint about this beautiful hole in the wall between wing stop and H&R Block.
This place use to be one of my favorite restaurants. My wife and I would eat here on a regular basis. We stopped going when the prices were raised but the quality of the food remained the same. Since then, the prices keep going up but the quality keeps going down. This last time was the last time. If Im going to spend 50 bucks on a dinner for two, I may as well stick with kabuki. The showmanship was weak, the prices were high, and the food was disappointing. The manager is a nice enough guy, and hell take care of you if you have issue, but one can only complain so many times, and Im tired of having to complain.
I love this place and the food. But the last 3 times Ive called to place a to go order the phone just rang and rang. And then when I finally got my food it wasnt even correct so I called back... never answered. Pretty sad cuz thats terrible for business. Come on guys!
This is why Google reviews aren’t all equal. This place had 4.5 stars- good right? NO. The food here was barely edible. It was way too oily and the Kobe beef I ordered was more like diced hamburger meat. Our waitress was lovely and seemed to understand our complaints. Lastly the owner reprimanded our waitress like a child in the middle of the restaurant. Try somewhere else.
Sushi was pretty good, and had a great presentation. I did not care for the hibachi, the rice was not toasted up on the grill, and seemed rushed, and the massive pile of noodles seemed like a big filler, and I like them kinda grill marked a little too. The filet was an alright piece of steak, but it wasnt a filet. The scallops were ok, but kinda rubbery, I think it was sting ray. Overall I would say, stick with sushi, unless its the cooks performance you like. He was hilarious, and fun.
The food was good. What was not so great was the service. People seated after us got drinks and appetizers before us even though we ordered before them. This place needs a major cleaning. When you walk in, the concrete at the front door is black from the grease tracking outside after one is finished eating. The wooden chairs need repair, they are very wobbly (I presume because of customers rocking in them to catch a piece of zucchini that it tossed at their open mouth for fun). The hibachi grills are starting to warp too. Its just sad.
Water was empty 85% of the time I was there and then finally offered a refill when we were leaving and filled my mans drink only halfway through our meal. sushi came out after we finished our food and was wanting boxes (it wasnt very busy) then the tip of my anger was the lady came out looking like she was mad we didnt tip (only saw her twice) and came out to our car asking us to put a tip bc I already signed up but knew I was the one that paid and handed the ticket to my man for tip she didnt take care of us like she should have yes I understand some things take longer but I saw the sushi sit there for over 5 min while she was nowhere in sight and the fact of comming 9ut to demand a tip!!
From the look on the outside of the building, you may feel somewhat unsure of what lies inside. But I assure you its absolutely worth it. Once inside you can sit at the grill if you would like a show or you can find a table for table service. Ive always chosen to sit at the grill. Once the seating for the grill is full (or close to full) and youve received your soup, your cook will come out and start the entertainment. Its cute if not a little cheesy. The food is great and there are always plenty of leftovers to take home. If youre into sushi, they have delicious sushi as well. Pricing is very fair, especially at lunch.
The first time I went to this place, the sushi was fantastic with a large selection. Now, theyve shrunk the menu to literally less than a fifth of what they had. The server couldnt even tell me why they couldnt give us the sushi menu and just kept explaining what sushi was over and over and over while interrupting us constantly when we kept trying to ask her a question. We had to talk to the manager to understand that they completely ruined their sushi selection. They now have what is supposed to be cheaper sushi for the same price as pricier sushi and acts like its awesome theyre all the same price. Not ever going back.
Food is awesome & love noodles but they have charge extra to share meal. Fine whatever but also charge for a parson to seat at the table when person not eating. Like kid. My son 11 yr old & dont even eat there at all. He kid. No im not leaving him with someone or not come at all. We like eating there once in awhile. We r family. Come on. Its not like u r hurting on money. Even we eat with other family members. Its only me & my 15 yr old daughter that eat there. He dont like that type of food. Well have good day...
Wow!! just wow!! On the customer service here. Placed a take out order not what we expected mind you everything was pretty much in tact except for the rice for tasting. Advised NO VEGGIES extra rice. Received order with noodles not fond of the noodles. Which, by placing via phone should have been relayed. Just like they do there they aak each time you go. This is why tou have workers to make sure what you purchase is in fact what you would like. Just like in person. Specifically stated ......... rice no veggies and extra rice called to relay the message spoke to a nice girl at first till I advised her what was wrong with my order. Then all of a sudden rude, over-talkative, argumentative, not advising of name states is manager then passed over to a Karrissa sever responsive, apologetic, understanding. Overall, HORRIBLE experience. Not worth the money.
Food was very good and a great chef!Giving three stars for this reason: our twins at 15 months old needed milk and we are travelling to Denver from DFW. Because of that we had no milk. I asked staff if they happened to serve milk and was told no. Ran to the grocery store nextdoor, gone for no longer than 10 minutes. Get back with a gallon of milk and my wife is still waiting while others were seated. She said they wouldnt seat us cause I wasnt there. I get the policy but it couldve been addressed correctly per our circumstances, especially since I was going next door to get something they didnt sell. My wife was sitting alone with the twins and it was obvious I wouldnt be gone long.
Sad and poor service all the way around, we are from out of town from Dallas Texas and this is a sad Excuse for a Japanese steak house. Our waiter was horrible waited half the night for drinks and never got refills, messed up our drink orders. the cook who is horrible forgot half the peoples food, chicken and steak and had the ask somebody to go fetch him more because he did not bring enough food. So the people who food got forgotten had to sit and wait an extra 15 minutes for somebody go get more and for him to cook it. was over cooked and out of sequence. We got all the steak and meets 1st then the vegetables and rice and then the sauce too deep or steaks into so by the time we got to eat our meet, our meat was cold because we waited the whole time for a dipping sauce. At 1 point in time I got fed up with our waiter and motioned over to the owner/host, so he can provide us some service with a different waiter or get ours over to refill the drinks, and he just gave me the whats wrong look. Never came over and asked what I was motioning for or what I even wanted. I was completely ignored. This place has a lot to learn in the name of service and food in my opinion stay away
It was ok not grate. Sushi was good but the rice fell apart. A sign if it made fast or the rice was not cooked right. My scallops was overcooked and the rice had eggshell in it. One of the waiters seemed that they just did not want to work. The waitress was grate even thought she was not our waitress.
Idk about these other people leaving one star and there complaining they post on a first time visit Ive never had since its opened. The food is amazing! In my own personal opinion the food here is way better than those other places off I40 or Soncy. Me and my wife have been going there since its first opened and we have never had a bad experience, bad service, an order wrong, over cooked under cooked. Its been delicious everytime with super friendly staff. The sushi we really enjoy because you feel you really get your moneys worth. The bites are big which we love. I dont like seafood all the much but I love the sushi there. The chefs that cook and prepare the food always super nice and way more involved with the audience then the other bigger places in town. From the habachi vegetables to the lobster and steak its always been delicious and perfectly cooked. If I had to say any cons it would have to be that the wait when its busy can be a little bit. Other than that we will always continue to go there for great food and great service.
I will never eat here again.... cant give a less rating ... we were meeting friends for a farewell.we get there about 5min after they had taken orders. they had just started with soup. The chef had moved his cart in. There were 2 seats available. The waitress said we needed to sit at a table to order. And we could not eat with our party. 2 seats were empty... but we were not allowed to sit. So we should left then. But we stayed. Then the waitress took our drink order. Then took ourappetizer order. We got our main dish....did not get our appetizer...so she apologized. So i cancelled the appetizer Unimpressed. Then i changed my mind because i figured we snack on it later. Portions were decent but the food was salty. Very salty...the steak was decent. The rice was over cooked and very salty. Had better rice a roni. The noodles tasted like they were served with spaghetti sauce mixed with soy sauce.i cook and eat alot of Asian food. This is not Japanese food. This is americanized asian food. Might aswell be Taco bell of Mexican food. Some Asian guy with tattoos kept staring at us eat.I think the food was mediocre. We get home...i try what looks like french fried onion rings for green bean casserole....the fried Calamari...witch were thin sliced i think cuttle fish.dipped in plain flour...of all the things that needed salt....Geeez. oh please dont let get started on what they called ginger dressing. More like a watered down thousand island dressing with ginger powder. The owners seem to have thought about the social dimensions of fast food so much that they now see their target audience as problems to be solved, not customers to be pleased.I would not eat there again even if it was free. That is all please do not be impressed with the hype. Ask around. Or if you must suffer try it yourself.
Very disappointed with the service. Called ahead to set up a reservation, was told no problem and they’d see us at 7:00. Got there put at the bottom of the line, people who walked in behind us got seated before us, asked for the manager and she informed us that they don’t take reservations. She repeated herself about 5 times that they don’t that they are just too busy. If their people can’t even tell us that they don’t take reservations what else do they not tell their customers. I can promise you I want nothing in return because I will not return to a business that can not keep their word. If I could give a zero star rating I would.
Havent been in a few months, and service has gone downhill. Waitress was more interested in chatting at the sushi bar. The hibachi chef seemed like he was in an off mood and was less than interactive, which happens - we were more upset by the bad waitress service than anything. She brought items that we specified we didnt want and left one of our drinks sitting empty for long stretches when we could see her up and talking with her coworkers and not taking care of her tables.
Arrived about 8:00 at night. There was a table being cleaned and we were first in line for it. The hostess (A fat homely girl) seated us at the open grill just next to the door. I have 2 small kids and, because the sun was going down, everytime the door opened, a cold breeze would come into the building. We were the only ones sitting at the table and decided to move the other side. The hostess walked by and shouted at us that we HAD to sit on the other side. Couldnt provide a reason as to why. So, we waited until just after 9 to get a chef and my kids got to freeze the entire time because that lady was having a bad day. Watched 3 more grills fill up and people were allowed to seat themselves like adults. Paid $90 to get admonished by a lady with a chip on her shoulder.Dont get yelled at by ugly waitresses, just eat Sakura.
First we waited 30min to be seated. Then they put wayyy too many people at one table. There was barely room to put food down. There was 12 people and a baby at one table. It was ridiculous. Then we had to wait another 30min for food to start being cooked. I understand they want to sat as many people as possible but honestly I would rather them give an honest wait time at the door and seat a reasonable amount of people instead of just shoving them in so they can make more money. Think we will just go to kabuke from now on
I can not say enough good things about this place. The wait was short. There was way too much food. I had the steak and tilapia which was great. The tilapia was the best I ever had. They chef was hilarious. He had us all laughing so hard we were crying. Very kid friendly as well. Definitely a place we will go back to again and again!
Called in a to go order tonight with Kevin. My order was made wrong. I asked for all rice No noodles and I of course was given noodles. Called and let Kevin know of the mistake and his way of making this right is to have me come in tomorrow and pick up a large order of rice! What a joke. I told him No that didnt seem right, that he could either give me a partial refund or remake the meal for me to which he refused to do. We have been coming here a long long time but not anymore, I told him I would be leaving this review and we will no longer be patrons of this restaurant. He kept saying how he wanted to make this right but how is giving me rice the next day for my meal tonight right??? We wont be back!
I normally dont do this but this place was terrible. We walk in and there was a McDonalds fry container on the floor looked like nobody had cleaned in quite some time. The scallops and shrimp was overcooked and flavorless. I have never had an experience like this there is a reason its cheap to eat here. Had to flag down waiters to get refills.
Tonight was the worst service weve ever had in any restaurant. The hostess avoided everyone like the plague, people were having to put their own names on the wait list. Once our waitress brought our drinks, we never saw her again until she brought the ticket. We had to stand up and go find someone else to refill our drinks twice. If this were my first time here, Id never come back...and I still might not!
Omg. Im not sure if it was because I showed up at 2 pm and they closed at 2:30 or what but the food was not good. I ate in the hibachi area. The fried rice wasnt even fried good. He was quick to cook the food. When I ate the rice the oil stuck to the roof of my mouth. It was awful.
We go atleast once a week the prices are cheaper than other hibachi restaurants and the food and sushi are better than other restaurants too! My husband is super picky but this is his favorite place and would eat here everyday if he could! My daughter is 3 and isnt very good about eating but this the place she eats the most....she pigs out!!
Had pretty good reviews so we got take out to watch the football game. Must have caught it on a bad night. Had to wait 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. Dont know if I had the hibachi or teriyaki steak but it wasnt great. The whole meal tasted greasy and steak was in tiny little pieces. My daughter had teriyaki chicken and she wasnt impressed . Not sure what her husband thought of his food and sushi. I feel ripped off for $77.00.
Pro about the sushi rolls they make: super fresh tasty ingredients. cons: wayyyy too big for any human mouth. it takes about three bites to even get through one. sushi is supposed to be small so you can taste everything and every texture at once. here its just one GIANT mouthful of crab then one giant mouthful of avocado. actually makes it disgusting. never coming here for sushi again..not only that but i didnt know where to go to pick up my order so i waited for a staff member to greet or even acknowledge me or even come near me so i could ask a question and no one would help. i eventually went up to a random server and asked where to pick up something and she finally told me. never gonna go here for anything else either.
Pretty good sashimi. The snapper always has a ginger hint which I dont like. Salmon is always good and the yellowtail. We like the mushroom soup instead of miso, nice change up. The last few times we went it was kind of slow. Only one sushi chef so when they fill the big tables first we have to wait. So I didnt really like that.
I cheated on you guys tonight and went to kabuki!! Worst decision ever!! If you are in Amarillo and looking for a good Japanese steakhouse go here not the other place. Tokyo will take care of you and they actually know what good food means. Love this place and will never cheat again.
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly! This was our first time here..we were pleasantly surprised. The GOOD:.Hibachi chefs were entertaining and interacted with the people at the table. SUSHI was fresh and large portions are served which you dont get at many sushi bars. We ordered the veggie tempura appetizer which was very good. The dinner was very tasty, I had the steak and shrimp, and my wife had the shrimp and scallops. Service was excellent. Prices are lower than most hibachi places, and they give you PLENTY of food...I am usually not one to need a to go box but needed one here. And as we were leaving it was SRO at the door people trying to get in! THE BAD: SCALLOPS were very underdone and squishy, and the shrimp was overcooked and very chewey. THE UGLY: Atomsphere is void of any Japanese culture, music, and ambiance. It feels more like a sports bar as the TV on the wall had impractical jokers playing. All in all a nice experience with just a few distractions..Will we go back again....ABSOLUTELY !
Well let me start off by saying they are the best hibachi steakhouse, dont waste your money on anywhere else! Perfect date night place! This is definitely the place to go if youre wanting to taste the return of our lord Savior Jesus happening in your mouth! I think this is the place that was referred to in the bible as the holy of holies. Thank you God for the blessing of this marvelous place. Amen
DONT SCAM YOURSELF COMING HERE!Just went to Tokyo tonight usually i have more than great things to say about them but our receipt showed $71.07 but the asian man with tattoos im sure hes the new manager charged my card $85.28 i know this because any time there is a transaction on my card i get a text from my bank, when the manager was confronted he stated with an attitude oh, well sometimes the cards just show that but i only charged you what you owed. please be careful coming here hopefully this doesnt happen to anyone else.
There was a TO GO ordered placed, I had called to see if the order was ready. Kevin, the manager answered the phone and was completely rude, stating that I am not allowed to call in and check. Was cussing, said that he was to busy to pick up the phone for Togo orders and than hung up the phone. Custoservice is key, and that is definitely not provided.
The time I went to the Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse it was mind blowing experience. I have never seen trick like they showed here anywhere else. Steak that I had was cooked to how I exactly wanted and the service was good. Definitely a place to recommend to go when in town
I really love this place.....but NEVER ...will get TOGO again order was all wrong when I got home when I called they were RUDE...basically said oh well were sorry!! We dont have delivery so we cant do nothing about it. Did I ask for delivery NO! Just wanted to let them know it (my order) was wrong.Terrance maybe you should talk to your waitress. But YES I will be back!

2022-07-21This place smells horrific like sewage, taste extremely dirty, I used to enjoy this place a lot but I do not suggest ever eating here as the smell is overwhelming and nasty. I am disgusted. Also we have given this place MANY many chances. This is the last time we will step foot in this nasty place. Also change your hours online. Everyday we have pulled up for lunch y’all have a ghetto sign outside saying your closed. Don’t waste your money or time here.

2021-10-02Everything was amazing!! The atmosphere, the food, the service. The only complaint I would have is that they only serve beer, wine and Sake, but it wasnt a game changer. I loved this place and I want to eat there 7 days a week.

2022-03-31The food was scary. I recommend the rice and veggies. I did have an issue with the service. The plates are on the table when you are seated. They put the dirty menus on top of the plates. How often do you think they clean those menus? The chef came out with all the meat items on one tray, chicken , beef and shrimp all touching each other . While he was cooking, he realized he had forgotten something, put the cooked meat back on the same dirty tray and went to get the sauce he forgot. When he tried to serve the ginger sauce, it took him several tries to find a clean sauce dish. Would I return? Oh hell no.

2021-02-08We’ve been here a couple of times and been VERY satisfied. The most recent time I had the hibachi steak and salmon. The chef did a great show and the food was awesome. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of Sushi. Definitely a place to be on our return list.

2022-04-25On Sunday eve, we walked into this restaurant. There were people already waiting to be seated, so we got in line. No one came to greet us or to anyone in line while we waited there for at least 10 minutes. E young guys were playing with their phones, like if it was not their job to at least come and tell us to please wait.So we went and left the place.

2022-04-19The presentation was good and the chef was a lot of fun. Staff was very friendly. That being said, the food tastes like it comes from Tyson. Basically, not good quality even before cooking. There was also a horrible sewage smell coming from the back room every time the door opened.

2022-08-03Great tasting Japanese food! Similar to Kabuki.. However they toss food into your mouth.. Might be fun fun for all. Personally feels like feeding time at a zoo.. Bit odd

2022-07-28Long story short: confusing menu, TINY portions, confrontational rude staffWent out with some friends last night for one of their birthday. After being at the restaurant for an hour and a half (not complaining about time, it’s a show) I was given the teriyaki. I asked the chef if it was teriyaki and he said it was. So I let him know I had ordered hibachi. They wanted to cook me more chicken, but it is almost 9:30 on a Wednesday, I’ve been at the restaurant going on two hours, and all my friends are eating. So I asked if there was some way to discount my meal (I even offered to pay for something I did not order). They wouldn’t discount, and my only option was to have some prepared in the back to send me home with (this by the way did not even fill half of a to go box…a full meal of hibachi fried rice amounted to half a cup of rice, skimped on the CHEAPEST part of the meal. The chef also struggled to get enough vegetables to everyone at the table). I’m not upset at this point just kinda bummed it happened but it’s fine because my waitress and my chef did what they were allowed to.All the sudden. Some random waitress who is not a manager (hopefully) and not MY waitress comes up to ME and started to tell me how in the future I should remember that they put teriyaki on the hibachi and that I was given what I ordered. She kept saying “if you want plain chicken” while making a face like what I was asking for was disgusting. She proceeds to tell me to “remember that for next time”. When I told her I only thought that it was teriyaki chicken because it has teriyaki on it and the chef said YES it is teriyaki, she bulldozed over that and proceeded to tell me how to order next time. NO WHERE on the menu does it say teriyaki is on both types of chicken. This, by the way, strikes me the same as calling wings lemon pepper wings but putting Buffalo sauce on them and expecting your customers to tell the difference between lemon pepper and Buffalo. ALSO, some friends had gone there recently and verified they had NEVER been served hibachi chicken that way. Such a stupid argument I shouldn’t even have to have.I’m infuriated that this waitress really thought she was going to check me. I wasn’t rude, I intentionally didn’t make a fuss because I don’t want to ruin my friends birthday, and after the issue is settled, this girl comes up to me like she’s mad or something???? She’s a pretty girl, short curly hair, but definitely one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had. I was already leaving unhappy, she made me leave this review.
