I have used this location and other Un-Haul locations and am very pleased with the great customer service and equipment. In my opinion when pickup trucks, make sure wiped down or air freshener for smokers. The truck was over-whelmed with cigarette smoke and make me sick. Other than that, GREAT SERVICE!
Had to wait an extra 2 hours for rental, one because staff couldn’t figure out how to charge me what I ordered before I left and an hour after I returned van because staff didn’t know how to reimburse me for their wrong charges. Staff don’t know what they’re doing. Unorganized disaster. Use another dealer. I used hello self storage earlier in year, definitely think they are better option.
Great customer service! I was running late the day of and forgot to call. I received a phone call letting me know that they’ve continued to roll my reservation forward and I was still able to get the truck size I needed. Once I arrived, check in was quick and the truck and supplies were ready to go. The truck was clean and ran great. Kept me and all my belongings safe for the trip to Atlanta!
Not only did they not prepare my order that I placed online, but many of the items that showed in stock online were out of stock by the next day when I went to pick them up. I showed up 3 hours after my pick up time, and no one even attempted to notify me that my order of packing materials was out of stock. Waste of time.
Very disorganized and understaffed. Their computer systems hardly works. Unable to process credit cards. Took me 1.5 hours to check in (this is after web check in), and just as much time for check out. Only one register open at a time, and all employees were stressed out. Very bad!!!!!
Very bad and annoying company. Quoted 30$ at start. Ended up being 70-80 for a 1hour rental. Then because of a 1.70$ toll they send another invoice adding 9$ in administration non sense plus threatening to increase it with 15-30 if not paid soon. Was on phone twice for 40+45minutes to try to pay the toll which still hasn’t happened. It’s really a company to stay away from. Rental companies in general are bad but this one is even worse. Also my chase bank doesn’t accept their invoice because uhaul is flagged for fraud (understandable) because they are a fraud. They advertise renting costs like 19$, but total costs are 100+ and they all work very slowly too. At the shop and online and the office are all very slow in processing.
So I made sure to get up early to grab as many mattress bags... I was told by the general manager he couldnt sell all of his stock. Are yall in the business of making money or saving stock ... If you had online orders you should have pulled those before opening. This is the second time I have had a bad experience at this location... FAIL.
This has been the worst business and manager Ive ever dealt with. This location provides locks for every vehicle and the lock on my truck was broken and I didnt notice until after I moved all my items out of storage so the location was closed. Remember they check the vehicles & approve them for use. Due to COVID-19 other stores supplying locks were closed as well. My TV and Printer ended up being stolen out of the vehicle. Its been a month and a half and there hasn’t been a real resolution. No one answers the phone at this location either. I had to call customer service who contacted the manager, Ryan, and he just gave me a $200 UHAUL credit after I told them I dont want to use UHAUL ever again due to the way this has been handled and the fact that Im all moved in my new home and wont need their services. Ryan never called me back, reached out to give an explanation or apologize. A credit cant get me things that were stolen back. Ive never experienced such poor customer services.
Brian Smith help me with my rental at the Greenville Ave and Ross Ave uhaul,He was so helpful and so kind, the next time I need a uhaul that will be the store I go to, and I will be spreading nothing be good words about that store and about Brian. And I will be stopping by to say Hello every time Im in EAST DALLAS.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and my overall experience was good. However, there was a delay in getting our equipment due to the fact that the computer system, according to the staff, had crashed and was going really slow. I had completed everything online in the days before so that we could just check in and go, so it was a bit frustrating that I still had to wait a good 20-30 minutes before getting my equipment. Again, the staff were super apologetic and I completely understand that these things happen. Hopefully the issue has been resolved. Also, it would be safer if the side view mirrors on the 10 foot truck were more adjustable. While you could pull the holder forward or back, there was not an in between option (it was one or the other) and you could not adjust the actual mirror itself; this made it more challenging for my mom to see when driving the truck. These issues will not necessarily deter me from using U-Haul again in the future but something to consider when choosing the rental truck.
The mobile check in did not work. I was at the location and it took 45 minutes to check out. Once check out was ready they forgot to put in the dolly and blankets I requested.I drove the truck 10 miles and put in 3.5 gallons of gas. Clearly it wasn’t topped off.Pay attention and leave extra time.
When I arrived to the location prior to my reservation time, I walked inside to get help on checking in since my phone was dead. I asked the representative for assistance and he told me that I needed to go to my car and charge my phone since the only way to check in was using my phone. I have been to this location a couple of times and was able to be assisted inside. I was very upset since I had to go wait in my car past my reservation time to do the online process. I finally got the approval to get my key and left. Once I got to my home to start moving the dolly that I had paid and requested for was not in the truck, so I had to leave and go back and get it putting on additional miles and time that I had to pay my movers since nothing was done properly. I will never come to this location again, I don’t think someone should be employed to do a job if they tell someone to go and figure it out in there car.
Truck smelled like cigarettes. Representative forgot to put appliance dolly on the truck and I had to stop my move, drive back to the store and get it. When I received the dolly, representative said that it had some pieces coming out, and tire was loose but assured me it would not fall apart. Did not offer to provide a different one. 5 min after using it, it fell apart. Poor costumer service, representatives were playing on their phones and talking about how they don’t like their job, while customers where in line. Informed customer service about this and no one has reached out to refund me for a useless dolly.
We had a last minute rental needed, booked by phone on a Saturday night. They phone attendant was super helpful, and we experienced the same helpfulness and friendly attitude when we picked up and dropped off the vehicle . U-Haul has been a consistently good pick for us over the years!
Terrible customer service! The girl totally just put me down. Im looking for their expertise and help so that I can get a hitch. She threw me technical terms that I dont understand, I do respect her expertise, but she did not allow me to ask questions to try to understand what I would be purchasing.
Ive rented from here many times and personally Ive never had anything except a good experience. Granted this is Uhaul not Hertz, my most recent pick up, which prompted me to write this review, was one of the best acts of customer service Ive experienced in 2018. Craig stayed a half hour past closing to make sure that I was able to pick up my total package, and was nothing but smiles and kindness the entire time.
Waited 30 minutes (and still counting) to pick up a uhaul reserved online. I wish there was a way to post the photo I took of this ridiculous line with only one person behind the counter. Staff person seems courteous, but this store is severely understaffed. Unbelievable wait
The advertised 6x12 trailer is false/inaccurate and misleading. The actual trailer opening is 54 wide, only 4 1/2 feet not 6 feet. I left my contact information for the manage, the two representatives ensured the manager would call me the following AM. Despite me leaving details and expressing my frustration; I have yet to hear from anyone.
There are two employees working the registers and once one of them finished, he assisted the woman with taking her purchase to the car. When he got back, he just hung out at the end of the register and talked to the other guy with a customer. I put my stuff back and left. While walking to the car, the employee that wouldnt help me out, was smoking a cigarette. On top of this, there is no working air conditioning.
My son and daughter in law were in the process of moving to new Mexico to the base my son is now stationed at. Due to covid, he wasnt allowed to come home to pack his stuff so his father and I rented a uhaul and loaded all of their stuff up and headed out to meet them in Dallas, with plans to continue on the journey the following day. We come out the next morning to find the uhaul gone. It was stolen in the middle of the night. Fast forward a few days and we get a call that its been recovered. Back to Texas we head. After picking the truck up out of impound, we found this dealership. Went in and told them all of the problems we have faced and asked what to do from this point on. Everyone we dealt with was absolutely amazing!!! They got us a trailer for the little bit of stuff the thieves left and let me turn the stolen truck into them instead of driving it back to Oklahoma or on to new Mexico. Every single person was beyond pleasant and helpful. If Im ever in The Dallas area again and have any need for a uhaul, there is no other place I would go! Five stars for sure!
No one inside customer center when I arrived. I walked outside to see 1 associate working with another customer and the other 2 just watching. The manager (?) grunted toward the other free employee who pointed to the customer center and said inside. I walked inside to have the guy tell me my trailer reservation had been moved to another location 10 minutes away. I asked why I hadnt been notified and he blamed it on the other location, saying it was their responsibility. I asked why I couldnt just take the correctly sized trailer sitting right outside and he said it had been reserved by someone else... not sure why a later reservation takes precedence over mine.
Used them once before- leaving review for that experience. I was nice to the employees-and they were nice right back! Thats how simple it is. Surprised at all the negative reviews. They let me keep the U-Haul there overnight because I had no one to drive it that day, with all my belongings in it. I felt that it was safe, and it was. Yeah, the parking isnt ideal- but cmon, what do you expect? Its a small lot in the crowded Lower Greenville area. Anyway, about to rent a truck again this afternoon from same location. Overall: be nice and they should treat you the same way right back.
At the height of the pandemic (early July), out of the 5 employees I saw working in the store, one was wearing a mask. Instead of setting up my storage pod for delivery and buying supplies, I walked out. Never step foot in this place again, if they can’t wear a mask how can I trust their moving van isn’t going to burst into flames and kill me...?
Poor service hit my card for different things I didnt use gave me a hard time like I did something wrong when getting my refund back I kept asking for receipt & the manager on duty did nothing..I call the bank to get my refund for the over charge I took pictures of the gas and mileage so the bank didnt let them keep my money
Update: Received a call from the manager of this location a week after submitting a formal letter to corporate. They offered a full refund of the electrical installation as well as a reimbursement for the money spent at the mechanics. Also received a $50 U-haul VIP voucher. I was honestly expecting a drawn out battle with corporate to actually get any money back, so I am very pleased with the result.have never had a more horrific experience with a company in my entire life. I reserved a U-Haul 5x8 trailer with this location well in advance of my move from Texas to Virginia, and made a reservation to have my hitch installed on Memorial Day. My appointment was at 12 PM, they could not get started on my car until 12:30 PM and then it took them over three hours for the install. Fine, these things take time. The total bill was $180. On Saturday, June 11th 2016 I arrived at the U-Haul on N Central Expressway in Dallas, TX at 8:30 AM to pick up my trailer in order to leave for Virginia that afternoon. However, when we went back to get the trailer attached, the employee at this location made us aware that he could not find the electrical wiring and it must have never been installed. Obviously, he refused to give us the trailer until we had the electrical component. I called this Greenville Ave location, received no reply, and left a message. After 20 minutes of no call back we decided to just drive down there. We got to the front of the line at this location and explained we had just called leaving an urgent message about an issue with our install, and Lance Hutchinson (this location’s manager) spoke up from the next computer and said “oh yeah, I see your name and message here”. If you see it, why didn’t you call back? There was no one else in the store. Anyway, they looked up our order and said “we didn’t install the electrical component, just the hitch”. I asked why in the world that would have happened and they said well lots of people just want to tow bike racks. That’s fine, but it was clearly shown in my order info and in my contract that I was installing this hitch SPECIFICALLY to haul one of THEIR trailers. In other words, the electrical component was required. I explained that I was attempting to leave to drive across the country in a few hours (hence why I did the install in advance) and that I needed the electrical wiring now. They said fine, and fit us in. It took about an hour and cost another $119.57. After this, I was able to return to the location on N Central Expressway, get my trailer, and we were on our way. Unfortunately, this was not the end of my trouble. I arrived in the DC area and dropped off my trailer. Later that week, someone stopped next to me at a stoplight and made me aware that my taillights were out, not my brake lights, just the tail lights and lights above the license plate. I tried numerous things myself like replacing the fuse as well as checking the bulbs. No luck. I was forced to take it into the shop. This is where they found that the box that was installed with the wiring at the U-Haul on Greenville Ave was repeatedly blowing out fuses, including the ones I just replaced. I was unsurprised that I had been given a bad electrical box, judging by the total incompetency I had already experienced at this U-Haul location. It cost $64.85 for them to disconnect the faulty box and replace ALL of my interior fuses. They told me I should go to a local U-Haul and request a new box for free. This is when things got EVEN worse. I started to drive away, but realized none of my turn signals or hazard lights would work without the box. I decided to call the U-Haul I had returned my trailer to and explain the situation. They said they could not fit me in for another week for a re-install, and that I would need to prove warranty if the install were to be preformed for free. Therefore, I had no other choice but to proceed with ripping out the entire malfunctioning harness system and reset the car to factory settings.
Gas indicated on check out form wasIncorrect and mileage also. Uhaul does not text the equipment check link on cell phone anymore. Customer Service was great. I emailed the correct mileage and fuel level(pictures) Thank you customer service. I Prefer using UHAUL on Harry Hines on Nwy. They are always perfect and professional.Trucks always servicescorrectly.
I paid for some boxes with my credit card. Later, I couldnt find my credit card and this U-Haul store is the last place I used it. So I called to see if, by any chance, I had left it there. I was told that someone from that store would call me back. Nobody ever did.A week later I still hadnt found my credit card so I stopped at my bank to see if any aberrant charges were on my card. There was one. It was at this U-Haul store the day AFTER I had been there. The charge for the day that i was there was there, too, so it was not a case of them delaying running the purchase through the system.The amount was only $9.20 but still, it shouldnt be there.I called the store again. Once again, I was told they were too busy to talk to me but that someone would call me back later. I doubt it, but we will see.Previously, I had always considered U-Haul a reliable company.Addendum: They never called back the second time, either. Anybody want to go for three?
Came here to drop off the rental truck. I was turned away because the lot was full. However, the guy was nice enough to explain to me how to get to the next closest drop off location, which was on Ferguson Road and I-30. The other location said that this location sends trucks there where all the time.
Edgar is the freaking best! He was on staff when they installed my trailer hitch on the back of my Prius and he noticed I had a new bike rack still in the box in my trunk, and then proceeded to help me put that together and attach it to my trailer hitch, all in the 100 degree heat, the both of us sweating bullets the while. Great experience here, and def will come back for any future needs.
Charlene Strange, whose title I believe (surprisingly), is assistant manager, is very rude. I witnessed her be dismissive and unfriendly when I went in on 2 prior occasions to purchase boxes. When I returned the truck I dealt with her again and was amazed by her negative demeanor and poor attitude. Not a hello, not a thank you, nothing. The customer should not be the only one saying thank you. This person should not be dealing with the public; she clearly should not have the title of assistant manager. Would love to say will never rent from here again, but probably will since it is a mile from my house. Everything else was fine with my rental until I turned it in.
Amateur hour. This is the worst run place Ive seen in a long time. Poor customer service and unskilled staff. My trailer hitch installation was scheduled from 11-11:30 (I was assured it would take a 1/2 hour when I scheduled it). The hitch installation guy didnt get there until almost noon, and its now 3pm and they are still working on it. All along the way they kept telling me its almost done. Through the glass in the waiting area I can see the installer reference the installation instructions over and over again which leads me to believe never installed a trailer hitch before. Theres no way Id recommend that anyone use location.
$7 a gallon if you need them to refill. Thats pretty high. Also make sure they actually have a furniture dolly if you reserve one online. Its like the online reservation is useless if you reserve a dolly on the site. One other thing 10ft do not include a ramp. Place is very busy and under staffed. Expect waits and remind them if you rented a dolly or they will forget. So yeah my exp with this U-Haul move was super fun.
I am posting my same review at multiple sites to make sure people know how terrible this place is. I have some experience using storage units and renting moving trucks at this point and I realize that most of them are poorly run operations, but this is by far the worst ever. I will start with the worst thing of all, our boxes were full of cockroaches when we moved them out of storage. Moving is bad enough, can you imagine having to empty every box before bringing it into your house and sorting through your stuff to make sure you kill all the disgusting cockroaches and shake all of their feces off of your stuff? But that was just the icing on the cake with this place. The employees are unresponsive and surly, you have to wait forever just to get your truck or whatever it is you need, the storage units are a joke as there is a foot of space between the front wall and the ceiling where anyone could get through and tamper with your stuff, and the facility is only open during very limited hours unlike a typical storage unit that is available pretty much at any time. Please use any other place but this.
The U-Haul representative misquoted the collision waiver by stating it was $10, when I ended up getting charged $20. There was no screen to view the actual rate - I just signed for the credit card charge. The gas tank fuel was overstated on the contract.I had to go back in when I saw that the fuel was at 1/2 when the contract said 3/4. The remote application for Covid-19 protection did not work. GMC vans are not well designed. The van was difficult to get in and out of. The rear view is obscured by a metal screen. But there was a back up camera on the rear view mirror.

2022-05-14I rented a truck from this U-Haul location a couple of weeks ago to move. I was able to make my reservation beforehand online so it was a quick process to check the truck out the morning of my move. When I got back, I was able to turn everything in quickly and be on my merry way (which is great after a few exhausting hours of moving!).

2022-06-26I recently used the location at 1616 greenville ave (store#741028) 2 of the employees who helped me were AWESOME. They were knowledgeable, courteous and friendly and made my moving experince go smoothly. I would highly recommend this store and these employees to anyone who asks. Great work gentlemen.. 2022-06-28The service overall was great. My only issue is when I brought back the blankets that I forgot the previous day, the gentleman said thanks. I had to ask for receipt or confirmation, but he then got on the computer and checked me out. Probably just little confusion.

2022-06-19Horrible experience. I made a van reservation about 2 weeks in advance and they call me at 8:30 pm the night before to say they didn’t have a van. The customer service rep was rude, and basically said I should be happy she call to try to find me something else. When I got there they had several vans but still wouldn’t give me a van. Had to use an oversized truck for 3 or 4 items.

2022-04-26Truck broke down after 20 miles. Then broke again. wasted hours and hours waiting on the truck. waited over an hour to get the bill corrected.... still not corrected including charging us for moving pads we never ordered or received. Havent heard back about why they decided to charge us for those. back on the phone waiting 30 min...rent a truck from penske or use your car and do 20 trips. itll be faster
