United States Postal Service in other cities:
Had a terrific experience here today. We had booked a passport renewal appointment for our daughter weeks ago, but never received any confirmation. I had to take my daughter out of school, and my husband was going to leave work, so it was sort of a big deal. I emailed the post office Friday, and Monday morning the manager at Chimney Cors called me. He said he would call the station and Braker Lane to confirm for us, then called back saying the employee who processes passports had called out, and all todays appointments were being cancelled. However, he said that since it was just for a minors passport renewal, Ms. Vikki at Chimney Cors could help us today. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and efficient. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. Cant thank both employees there enough!
Very friendly and helpful employees! Have been coming to this location for a while, and its nice to see even during the long holiday lines - they employees welcome back regulars, and patiently explain shipping options to new customers. Kudos to them dealing with so many people all day long!!
The passport guy was extremely disrespectful to me, telling me how to wear my mask and said I was deficient. My mask was over my nose but since it couldn’t pinch he made me get another mask. The control was unbelievable. He belittled me and in front of my son. He treated him okay but made me feel like a worthless human being. Not cool.
This location is dirty, something is always broken, I made the mistake of shipping 5 packages from this location on the same day and they lost 4 of them. To top it off when I try to talk to USPS about the issue none of the CS reps have ever even heard of the far west location. This place is awful and it should be avoided at ALL COSTS.
The building has always been clean when I go here and parking is abundant. The employees can be a little testy at times, but Ive observed some of the folks the have dealt with, and I must say, they truly have the patience of Job. If you need a location for a mailbox, this is a great one!
Vikki and Rachel are the best! So friendly and helpful. They make you feel like old friends and that you’re being welcomed into their home. It was a wonderful experience and I’m so grateful that they were willing and able to assist me. They definitely went above and beyond.
My mail people are great but the USPS automated help phone number is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I don’t know how many steps you have to click through to talk to a person because when I thought I was going to talk to someone the automated thing recommended I not.
Went to get the passport process started, and they told me I needed an appointment to which they said I could do Online. (fair)But when I get back to work and check online, it says I have to call them. I tried calling them multiple times earlier this morning to try and ask them questions about the process and no one picked up. I call again after getting back.... still no answer. I can place some blame on me for not checking while I was there in person, its just sad that I have to do that.Associate said they have a no-appointment-passport Wednesday, though.Im going to skip this location in favor of the Travis County Office Clerk downtown. They dont require appointments, and havent eroded my trust yet.
Awful customer service. I was patronized for waiting in line to drop off prepaid postage. I do that because it will be scanned in and that affects eBay shipment tracking. When I just drop them off the tracking will show the acceptance as much later than when I dropped them off. This isnt USPS fault, but I have every right to wait in line and personally drop my packages off. I dont need condescension for doing so.I was also berated for asking for a receipt. I was told that USPS absolutely doesnt do that. I said thats fine but I absolutely did get one last week from another USPS office. I wasnt trying to get the employee to give me a receipt after her explanation, but I was disputing her assertion that no USPS offices give them for prepaid packages. Its rude and unnecessary.
Is there something lower than 1 star? They claimed a delivery attempt. My office window is right by the front door and my cameras dont show anybody. Then in the afternoon in the mailbox .. delivery attempt, contact for RE-delivery. It seems they dont want to come to your house anymore. I will try to avoid ordering anything that is shipped via US postal service... and you cant get hold of anybody on the phone ...
Ive had good help and Ive had no help, I just hope USPS gets the help they need. Big thank you to the person who helped me send the certified letter and also shared her knowledge of the place I was serving it to, proving that the lord works in mysterious ways. Or maybe there are bad apples everywhere and its an unavoidable shared experience. Im glad theres a good apple here.
Went here to pickup mail from a recent Hold Mail request and the two ladies there were very helpful. We were able to get our mail and submit another request to hold our mail for another period. Very much appreciated after a bad experience at Jollyville where we were rudely and unprofessionally told incorrect information.
Even the overall two star rating flatters them way too much!I got there at 2:28 pm - basic customer service rule is that if someone arrives before closing then you take care of them.Probably asking too much from usps employees. They let me know that they are closing in one minute and it won’t be enough time for me to complete my form.Way to go USPS!
I checked the score before I arrived the place. Seems to me it is not as bad as people described. I sent out my first package today, with the help of the lady on the counter, she was nice and patient, giving me some suggestions of what to do and how to do it. The process was very smooth. Maybe today I just got lucky, since Ive seen bad usps office before but this one is fairly good.
I would leave negative 10 if possible. Absolutely the worst managed and staffed post office in the country. Rude, nasty workers - treat customers like dirt. Do not even respond to a smile and hello, play and joke around with each other while you stand there being completely ignored. Give NO information about the service you are paying for. You ask, they say read it it, its on your receipt. WOW, any other business, they would be fired!
I write painstakingly stellar reviews for good experiences. Quickest way to get a terrible review from me? Yell at me for walking NEAR your passport office door without any previous interaction. Not follow your own time of opening rules. Not communicate through signage or announcement that youre planning to close because youre busy. You dont have to be such jerks about it just cuz everyone wants to leave this godforsaken country. The least you could do is communicate alternative options/locations.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Im pretty sure one of the mail carriers or the lady that helped me stole my package. Went to try and pick it up a week after I received my pink slip saying it was at this post office. Didnt bring my pink slip as unfortunately it had been accidentally thrown away but Ive never really needed it I always just give my address and ID at any post office. Well after the lady went to the back twice to look for it she came back stating the mail carrier had dropped off the package... it wasnt at my front door nor the apartment office so it had to be there. why would they give me a pink slip stating it is at this post office if they said they delivered it...sketchy.
Customer Service at this location has been hit or miss. Yesterday however was a big win. Vickie was helpful - making sure I had all I needed to mail a t-shirt to my niece abroad. She was also courteous and one of the most pleasant people I have ever encountered at a US Post Office. Kuddos Vickie for making it a great experience and thanks again for your help.
Absolutely refuse to leave packages in my mailbox or doorstep. They leave a little slip that says pickitup at this address; Huge inconvenience then it gets better! When you get to the usps store they treat you like its your responsibility to make sure you get your package. Usps is essentially the communist brand of mail delivery! I will from here on out, effective immediately skip any online vendors that use usps for shipping.
This is the worst office Ive ever had to deal with. They lost my ACL ticket package which Im tracking online and this is the second day that Im trying to talk to somebody in this post station. On the first day their answer to my question whether they had lost my package was We dont know that. We just dont know where it is. Now at the end of the second day I have called numerous times with no answer. When I finally got somebody on the phone she placed me on hold and then after 15 minutes disconnected the phone call. After four more attempts she finally answered the phone again and when I asked her why she had hung up, she said I got busy. No apologies. All staff has been rude and unhelpful and completely unconcerned that they lost a valuable package.
Service over the phone could not have been better!!! Richard Cordova, a supervisor, picked up on the 2nd ring, was incredibly professional and friendly. With my tracking number, he got to the root of my Undelivarable As Addressed problem quickly (the recipient had filed a forwarding order). He phoned the route carrier, left a message, and promised to call me back if theres any unseen problem.USPS does need to fix their software -- I should have gotten a Being Forwarded notification instead of Undeliverable, but thats not an option available on the route carriers scanner.
Courtney and Alicia were very responsive and helped me find a package that I was unable to find. Turns out the mailman had it loaded in his truck all along and simply forgot to deliver it. The only negative thing about this branch is that most of the time no one answers the phone.
Things can be fine if you are sending out a mail but for anything else this is the worst post office. They dont pick up if you call and the staff here is exceptionally rude and condescending. They have a few pre-crafted statements that they blurt out without even listening to your query.I understand that it can be a tough job especially when you have so many unresolved issues but being rude to a new customer doesnt help. I had to constantly de-escalate the situation in a simple conversation and eventually had to leave without a solution because the guy I was talking to had no intention of solving my issue. He was super aggressive to the point of accusing me and was looking to somehow blame me for having the wrong information. I saw this happen to another person as well so I can say I wasnt the one that pissed this guy. And all this happened after a 10-15 min wait!I would recommend you to stay away but you cant really, if you live in the area. Sadly, your mail is going to be directed through this place.
All the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I keep getting tons of coupons and junk mail stuck in my box that isnt mine, (and yes Ive been out there and made him take it out before), then leaving me slips saying my mailbox is full and to go in to the post office to get it. THEN they just proceed to tell you that nothing is there at the office. Just had no luck this time. Last time I had to talk to 5 people and got a bunch of old Holiday mail. This office is an absolute joke, and anyone who works there should be embarrassed.
Terrible, and thats probably not even strong enough a word. Quick recap of my experience as this is not the post office I use, but my dad passed away and I had to go to his post office to get his mail forwarded while I was in town handling his affairs. That happened back in the middle of December. I went in, filled out the paperwork, handed it to the clerk and was told we were good to go and that his mail would start coming to me within a week or two. After two weeks of not seeing anything, I began calling. And calling. And calling. No one there ever picks up, the phone just rings for about 3-5 minutes, then goes to a fast busy. Now it looks like Im going to have to head back into town and to handle something I was told was done all because they cant pick up the fricking phone. It matters not what time you call. Ive tried right when they open and times throughout the day, but always the same result. Terrible example of our government at work.
Okay... I see all the negative reviews for this location but I must say that I received absolutely wonderful service on April 18th, 2016. Yes, Federal tax deadline day. It was busy as expected and I almost drove to the downtown location after reading all the negative reviews about the service at this location. I was totally lost when I walked in and asked a lady whose name was Claire about sending a certified letter. She took me to the self service kiosk bypassing the long lines to the sevice counter and proceeded to key in all my information. She basically did it for me and after she finished with me, she began to help the ladies behind with their letters. She did all this while being very polite and courteous. So for all the negative reviews, I hope this one will be a light in the darkness...
I came in to mail a package abroad. I was told I couldnt have the receiver telephone number on the package. I was told to erase the phone number and that was it. I was really confused because I had send packages before and had no problem. Secondly, the country Im sending it to requires phone number so they can contact the receiver to pick up the package when it arrive. I was told in a condescending way that they dont do that in America! Wow! Luckily after filling out my custom for, I had a different lady send my package off and I was able to rewrite the receiver phone number on the package.
I will give a ZERO to this office if I could. HORRENDOUS customer service, in fact there is not customer service at all. The staff is VERY VERY RUDE, totally unhelpful, and unwilling to help. They dont answer to your questions, and do not have a clue of what is going on in their own office. It seems like the postal office did an amazing job hiring people with the same level of frustration, or maybe working there makes the staff totally frustrated. AVOID this office! In fact... AVOID USPS altogether, what you could save in money you will lose it dealing with the inefficiency of this company at handling your packages.
I called about a package and spoke with a guy here. I cant imagine that the Post Office pays this poor guy more than $4 or $5 an hour. His attitude was so horrible and he was blatantly unhelpful. For someone to be this pissed he has to not being paid much. On the other hand, he could be upset because he has to listen to the phone ring constantly where nobody will EVER answer it. I honestly called and let it ring until it stopped ringing (which was 24 times) and I did this continuously over and over 11 times before someone finally answered. If you count that, its 264 times before I called directly back the 12th time and someone finally picked up. This poor guy that answered and was such an insatiable prick had to be upset cause he had to listen to the phone ring so much. Im sorry this wont let me give this place a 0 so it gets a 1 just by the good graces of Google. Ive never been treated this rude by anyone in business in my 50 years. Perhaps new management is in order? Remember, we pay your salary each payday so at least dont treat us with dustain and contempt.
Need passport services? Dont waste your time with Chimney Corners. The man staffing the passport office was so incredibly arrogant and rude. He couldnt wait to see if we had made an error on the application or missed a step in the process. My young daughter was shocked at this public servants behavior. Step up your service, Chimney Corners, youre not all that special.
Can i give 0 stars? I came in to get my passport done and during some of the paperwork I panicked towards my father because I did not know how to fill a section out, when I start to have anxiety I write a little sloppier and larger, because I was panicking I did so. Once I handed your employee Peter Alvarez the paper he stated word for word “You know young lady you dont have to be such an inconvenience” to which I responded “Im sorry I didnt know I was such an inconvenience to you” and he began to say more and as I began to bite back my father took his side and told me to stop fighting. After everything was said and done he said I was “free to go”. I then said how inappropriate it was for a) my father to not defend me and b) this stranger to call me an inconvenience. I struggle with clinical depression and social anxiety. I have *ESPECIALLY* recently been struggling with myself, going out, how I look, eating in public, and many more. For your employee to disrespect anyone let alone a customer like that is BAFFLING. I most definitely sat in your parking lot and cried my eyes out as well as the 15 minute drive and at least 10 minutes once I was home. Knowing that he feels freely to talk to anyone like that is betraying as a company. You hear it all the time but you never know who someone is and I just so happen to be someone who hates themself and youre employee has now provoked me to hate myself more and approved what I thought was lies.
I will not do business at this location. I rushed through traffic, I made it there by 5:25 and the shutter was already closed, there was a supervisor standing in front of it so I asked her if this section is available for me to get envelopes and she condescendingly says, NO, WERE CLOSED. Well actually, it was not 5:30 yet, which means they closed the shutter early. I dont appreciate being treated this way. USPS, your customer service needs improvement, if you advertise youre open until 5:30, then be open until 5:30!!!!!!
I agree with the others above - the employees are not there for service! I have 3 businesses in the 78731 zip code that have not had mail pick up or delivery this whole week. Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs. I spoke with the supervisor 4 hours ago and he said he would have the mailman bring it right over. 4 hours later I called and let the phone ring for at least 40 times. Another worker finally picked up and took down my info again. He said he would pass this on to the supervisor. (Remember, I have already called the supervisor.) If I ran my businesses in this manner ...... well, I wouldnt have a business.
I would give this place a zero if I could. Terrible customer service. There were two postmen working and 10 people in line. There was only 2 people in front of me and I had to wait for about 30 mins, which I guess is expected. But what is inexcusable is the fact the guy helping me couldnt read the USPS website, tell me how tracking packages works or if his own post office holds packages. Its like working at McDonalds and not knowing you serve Big Macs. I think the USPS should just let FEDex and UPS takeover because at least they know what they seem to be doing and they pick up phone calls.
These folks meaning the staff and management of this particular post office are obviously very secure in their jobs.I struggle to remember a time that a group of federal workers was list interested, less caring, less rude, and mattered less, than each and every employee, Manager , and the postmaster general of this branch could possibly be.It is a shame when a person is so bad at their job and has so little pride in their work effort that the only way to truly improve the job that they do would be to stay home.I have had a PO Box at this location for more years than I can remember. Todays experience is only one In a long line of disappointments that I have become so used to as to expect, but I can honestly say it is the last time I will ever suffer this type of blatant in Ennui and disregard. It has litterally become to hard to watch. The giant tree sloth possibly the slowest animal on the planet would look like a hummingbird next to these people Id venture to say that if somebody was to release five turtles in the waiting room and employee would probably yell stampede. And Im curious to know just how much of my life has passed waiting in these lines and at that door with a bell on it. My only recourse is to make sure it never happens again bye-bye.
I swear this post office makes up rules every other day. came in to pick up a package for my mom she has a different last name than me but i still had her drivers license, they said she had to physically be there to pick up the package even though i have picked up her packages in the past this is not the only problem i have had with them. i am sick of it i wish i could just go threw UPS, there always on target!
Is the phone buried under years of undelivered mail? If yes, then I can understand why nobody every answers it. If not, then Im not sure why they have a phone. Whenever I have a package shipped via FedEx or UPS I dread the day I find out that the USPS will actually be delivering it to my door.
Peter gave me the wrong information over the phone. Twice. I had to call the main USPS line to find out that the post office did indeed own my mail box (duh!) and my husband took off work to go in person to get our keys made. When I called Peter back to let him know there was a mistake in his records, he refused to let me speak with a manager and eventually hung up on me. Thanks.
I work during most of the business hours, so if I want to mail I package, the self-service kiosk is my only option. Every time I come here, the kiosk says it cant mail packages (or do anything else besides print stamp, for that matter). Its so frustrating to drive all the way over here only to have wasted my time and gas, and theres nobody around to fix the thing.Update: it wont print stamps either.
Employee there actually called a delivery vehicle to check if my package was en route for delivery when I stopped in to see if it was possible to just pick it up from post office, then gave me an ETA on when theyd be at my address. That was top notch. And waiting lines seem to be substantially less than what Im used to down South, which is always a plus.
I went to this location to apply passport but I had to go back as I didnt had an appointment. I had to wait in queue for 15 mins to reach to the counter and then the staff informed me that the next appointment is after 3 weeks. However, he guided me to another passport location where I can walk in and complete the application faster. It really helped me and I was able to submit the application same day.
I literally just left this place and like others have mentioned the staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. I dont know the light skinned lady names with the pony tail but she is the worst. Third visit here. She ALWAYS looks and acts like she never wants to be there. Damn, lady just quit already. I will never return to this location.
I been this location two month ago, when I walk in the store, that day is (Rachel )and (Kevin )working there, I just told the girl Rachel by the some money order and send out,and also I need tracking number, Another guy (Kevin )look at me said:oh,I’m lost......the girl (Rachel )same face to me,they both mean , I thought they’re working with this job, they supposed nice to every customer ,and funny is, My friends coming today the same location for ask somebody find the package, and same person (Rachel )and (Kevin)working, and (Kevin)work for my friends, and first words he not say nothing like (can I help you.......)he just said:did you get line......(by the way,it’s no line there, only reason cuz he not ask my friends coming )my friends made,he just say back to him:just listen to me, I only have one question need ask and need you help, and then he just stop mean, and also he say don’t know everything, this is I don’t understand whey they people still working there.......
Far West Post office has to be the worst post office in the city of Austin. Customer service is seriously lacking as in total rudeness & if you attempt to reach them by phone, nobody answers. Other than giving them a poor review, I dont know who or how to get them to either respond or improve this particular post office which is supposed to be a place of business for our community.
Worst post office EVER!!! And that is saying a lot!!! Horrible customer service, slow, and constantly losing packages... This business should be sued! And Norm screamed at me!!! Literally screamed at me and called me a liar! He should be fired... Still considering lawsuit!
Could give it 0 starts if I could... They NEVER Answer and when you go in person they are ready ignore you and get you out of the way.UPdate: they answered, when I asked them to compensate for their mistake the lady told me that I shouldnt tell her her job and just hung up... oww
I cant go below 1 star or i would. These mail delivery people are extremely inconsiderate. They will literally CRAM as much mail in your box as they can. I havent had a straight piece of mail in i dont know when. On top of that, i got a notification on my tracking of a package it had been delivered saturday morning. Well, no package that big could fit in my mailbox and it wasnt at the office where i live. So where the hell did this guy deliver my package to? I am not fighting to get answers on this and have not had any information from the post office yet. Super pissed that our mail isnt properly handled and that they lie when they say they deliver items. I wish some people would take some pride in their job. Worst post office ive EVER dealt with!

2021-12-05TAKE your business elsewhere because they will not come out to help you, one guy was just wandering inside the warehouse. I saw one guy staring and standing just like a statue staring at the other assistant. Good that there was at least one assistant helping 5-7 customers waiting in line. And she made sure that we knew what a great deal of service she is doing for us. Is this how it is supposed to be? The most pathetic usps visited ever. Good luck.

2022-08-05Just got back from not getting our passport photo for our toddler. Came in with everything and the man working there seemed in a bad mood or something. Our daughter started crying and he just snipped, She cant cry. as we were trying to calm her down (if we could control that, obviously we would). Went through and said some photocopy was bad because we opted to have it fit the page instead of cutting it off. No big deal, husband went to get a new photocopy. In the mean time we tried to take the photo and he silently stood there while my daughter cried on the stool. Other passport places Id been to at least tried to say, Over here! or make some funny noise for kids. Of course, the quiet, rude man in the corner wasnt helping her feel better. Ended up not getting a photo and now we have to wait another month for the next appointment. If youre going to be that bad with kids, I wish it at least said appointments for minors werent available at this location.

2022-02-273-4 times now, Ive dropped off mail or packages here only to have it be extremely delayed. I used the auto machine, to weigh several packages and get postage on them. Each was priority mail, guaranteed 3 day delivery. It was 4 days before the packages tracking numbers even showed up online on USPS.com. I also sent some legal documents to Oklahoma to an attorney. Big manilla envelope. Sent it on a Monday. supposed to be 3 day delivery and it was at least 3 before the envelope was even in the system. The following Thursday. When it got to Oklahoma, they tried to deliver it on a Saturday when the office was closed. Monday was a holiday. Finally, on a Tuesday, 8 days after I dropped it off; the attorney received it. I also sent in a payment for a subscription, that was never received. I think someone at this location, is deliberately doing it for what ever reason. Ive seen lots of complaints online. I hope they send in a manager that cleans this place up. No need for it.

2021-04-13I’m sure ppl mostly only leave reviews for post offices when they have a bad experience. But I want to exalt the miracle that is USPS.It cost me only $1.20 tax free to send a card to England to celebrate my cousins new baby! The employee I dealt with with fast and friendly. And this branch even has a self-service machine which are super handy for simple purchases!Seriously, UPS & FedEx would have charged $20+. Private companies are not always the way to go.

2021-12-22This review is specifically for Vikki, who was one of the most helpful post office employees I have ever encountered. I was trying to figure out which boxes to buy for my packages, and she saw me looking lost and offered to help. She even went in the back and dug around for a proper box for my package with weird dimensions. She was friendly and helpful, and I heard other customers walking in refer to her by name, so Im gonna guess she is well loved by the community. Next time Im mailing something Im definitely gonna go here.

2021-10-16Best experience I ever had at USPS. The man helped me get my passport organized for shipping and got me some cool stamps. Also there was no wait, on a Saturday!I wish I could remember his name, but he was a young African American man working 10/16/2021.
