United States Postal Service in other cities:
I go on a daily bases for work to pick up mail. The lady at the door is so rude and very unprofessional towards her customers. I always see the way she mistreats customers when I go. Bad enough we wait patiently until it’s our turn due to the lack of staff there. If you don’t like your job then move along and find another don’t be so ugly to people who looking for your assistance. Pulling things out peoples hands is RUDE.
Ladies and gentlemen, it doesnt get worse than this.If this post office existed in the 14th century, Dante Alighieri would surely make this the 10th circle. (reference to The Divine Comedy where Virgil guides Dante through the 9 circles of hell)You can look this up yourself so you can read the entire epic poem while you wait for the dutch door service (which takes literally hours) during the peak times. Its horrible, its atrocious, its perhaps the worst thing in South Austin.I would like to request the managers immediate resignation. This post office is doing a disservice to our community and no longer represents the interests of the local community.
Cannot believe I have to leave a review like this about a post office but here it goes. LIVED in south Austin off Onion creek parkway & have had to report missing packages twice that had tracking and said they left it in Additional locked mailboxes yet no key was left & also the box was not occupied when I had regular carrier check the following day. About a month ago I had a huge box crammed in my very small apt mailbox. Not even sure how they got it in there or why they would not use the large locked boxes & just leave me a key to get it but I had to cut this package open and remove the contents and then force the now tattered box out just to clear my mailbox.Seriously, what a disaster. Then now I have moved and put my mail on hold 5 days ago until I could go in this week with my new address & I see on my informed mail notice online that they have delivered a package of my work contracts with very sensitive information to my old address despite my mail being on hold. Since a new occupant is now there, My apartments cannot check for me & I just have to wait to see if returned. I am literally furious and have been hanging on line to make a complaint for almost an hour thus far. I am always respectful to USPS as I know they have alot on their plate but honestly, this location by far is the most incompetent I have seen. So when I need my packages, they dont show up and when I ask you to hold, you deliver?? Such a massive disappointment!
Mail not being delivered for a week. I have informed delivery and shows what should be delivered. When I asked the post person “it’s a system error, while streets aren’t getting mail”. He said he would “ask his supervisor Edgar. Edgar’s reply, “we didn’t deliver mailOn Thursday because of the ice”. On Sat still o mail, when I asked the post person about it… “ I can only deliver what they give me”. But about 5 mi items later I hear mail being dropped in the mail box ( he had already delivered my side of the street. Don’t answer the phone, if you file an online complaint, “stock answer given”Wish I could give it a negative 5 stars!!
If 95% of the services people need are handled exclusively through the ‘Dutch door’ why not have more than 1 person manning the station? OR maybe the regular line could manage some overflow? An hour and counting and half way to the front leaves lots of time to write annoyed Google reviews. Send help.
Dropped off package at the counter where normally prepaid labeled boxes are dropped off and they scan them later if u dont want to wait on the line but the sunglasses never made it to the receiver! Pretty sure the person who supposed to scan boxes stole my sunglasses. So now every time I ship something I wait on the long line...
Pray to lord baby Jesus that you never have to pick up a piece of mail from this location. Everyone there was waiting over 2 hours to pick up, meanwhile there are two employees in the other room there to help people mail packages that refuse to help even though theyre not helping anybody.
Good luck ever dropping off any prepaid packages after hours. The drop box is always full and your package WILL be damaged if you are the last one in. The least they could do is have TWO drop boxes for the amount of people this one post office serves. They don’t even empty the thing while employees are working either, you have to just leave it in the huge pile of packages on the desk no one gets to assuming you get there during banking hours. Oy!No one really does their job with any efficiency. The lines are long all hours of the day, so good luck trying to do much of anything in person. And as of Jan. 22nd 2022 you can no longer even access the lobby after 7 anymore so good luck if you unfortunately pay for a PO Box and check your mail any time after that. This has been my post office for a decade and every year it’s worse. It needs to be split with a different new location. Or just tear it down and make it huge. This is what happens when the United States post office is run in late stage capitalism. You get a place where everyone is overworked and no expense or investment is ever made to make the “business” run properly. Just a rush to the bottom to work at a bare minimum. The post office needs to be government run again. It will probably still not be great but it would be better than this dump. Plus you could actually call the police on homeless people sleeping in there because it would no longer be private property.
Each time I go here, I talk to James, and it’s always a disappointment. He is so incredibly unknowledgeable and terrible at customer service. Not only did he not know how to properly send off a passport application (delaying my application, causing me to miss a trip), he also argued about filing a damage report when the post office damaged my package and I was missing an item from it. He was supposed to have me fill out a 2856 form but instead he told me over and over to fill out the form online instead of listening when I told him I had talked to someone on the phone and they said I needed to do both (online form as well as a paper form at my local USPS). Every time I go to this post office I leave very dissatisfied and disappointed. I truly hate wasting my time, and I always seem to do that at this Post Office. Don’t waste your time; Go somewhere else.
Ivan Martinez and Customer Services Supervisor, Ramon Villa, responded promptly to my concerns and immediately began the process of investigating my complaint. Even after it was revealed that my complaint was unwarranted, these gentlemen were still professional and courteous towards me.
Our cluster boxes in shady hollow have been broken for 3 weeks. The post office is in no rush to fix instead they make the customer come to the post office on mockingbird and wait in long line to get mail which actually is easier for them than delivering your mail. Shame on them. My tax dollars pay their salaries. Can’t even fix a lock on a cluster box timely and efficiently. Wish fed ex or ups could take over mail service and show them how to run a business.in addition they refuse to deliver my priority packages to my door instead they claim I requested hold at post office which is bull. This is 4th week of continued incompetence and laziness by the post office but they don’t care.
Long lines, understaffed, impossible to get in contact with. Why even have a phone number listed if you arent going to answer?? Ive called 5 times no answer. So now Im forced to leave work and drive 20 minutes just to get in contact? This location is absolute trash and should be addressed but USPS management.EDIT: By far the worst experience Ive had at a post office in the state of Texas.
There is a 99% chance that they will not answer your call, no matter what time of day it is. However, the lack of phone etiquette is overshadowed by their helpfulness in person.I had a package attempted to be delivered outside of the promised time window on Monday. The delivery showed up early and I put in a request online to get it redelivered the next day. It didnt show up. After the numerous phone call attempts, I drove over to this USPS on Wednesday.I was able to be seen right away at the counter, and told them the situation. They looked through their internal tracking to see what happened, and then looked through their stock to find the package. They brought it out to me, and it turns out it was on a different shelf, which was annoying for me that they just internally misplaced it. At least I got it within 5-10 minutes of showing up, and they were helpful and apologetic.
Terrible. Just terrible. The line for the pick-up window moves so slow, about one person gets helped every 15 minutes or so. The incompetence is overwhelming. I had a failed delivery on a Saturday due to no one being home, no problem. The slip they left said to pick up at post office on the following Monday. Too easy. I show up, wait for about an hour because there are about three or four people ahead of me. I was told it went back out for delivery. I was peeved at at my wasted time but was relieved to be getting the package. And what happens? No delivery. I return to the post office on Tuesday to report what has happened and collect my package. Surely it is waiting for me, right? Wrong, its back out for another fake delivery attempt. And I had to wait about an hour and a half this time to be told that.Absolute garbage. Id give them a -1 star if I could.
My ex-roommate brought 3 letters to this location after they sat in the mailbox with my forwarding address on them for 3 days without being picked up. One of them was the most recent stimulus check. A week later, one of the letters arrived and not the other two, the stimulus not being one of them. Me being stuck in Arizona unable to go in to try and find out what could have happened, I’ve spent the last week calling up to about 100 times, only once did someone answer and they just said “hello” then put me on hold before I could say anything and without an explanation from them. This is an extremely serious issue and they are actively choosing to ignore the phone. Now I don’t know if my stimulus is lost or if they didn’t send it for lack This has been one of the most frustrating and upsetting experience of my life. I’d appreciate it if you’d reach out to me and fix this.
Horrible experience dealing with this location.A package (unbeknownst to us) required a signature and we missed it so they left a note. We went to the USPS website and selected that we would pick up the package from the post office the next day instead. So we arrive at the post office, go to the weird door with the completely closed window (why isnt it glass so they could see that people are there?) and push the little unlabeled black button that we assume is the bell (it makes no noise, no sign or anything around it). The hours for that window on Saturdays are 8:30am to 2:30pm, so someone should be there right? We wait another 20 minutes, pushing the black button a couple more times, meanwhile a huge line forms behind us of unlucky people also trying to pick up packages.Eventually, the guy at the counter tells us that nobody is even working that window and that we should get in the different but also huge line for regular service. No sign or anything was posted out front saying it was not in service. Come on.So we wait another 30 minutes in this new line, at which point a new person comes out and starts taking random people to pick up their packages, including people that had just walked in the door. Thanks a lot, very unfair. Finally we get up to the counter, ask for our package, and THEY TELL US IT WAS OUT FOR REDELIVERY?!?!?! We show them our confirmation email stating we would pick it up at the post office, and all the guy can do is shrug and say sorry. He cant tell us anything about where it is, when it might be there, or really anything about anything that would be useful to us.Separately we needed international stamps from the kiosk, and it kept asking for a PIN on my credit card, which obviously doesnt make sense and therefore didnt work at all. Luckily I had a debit card, but still...Avoid if possible. Just use UPS or FedEx. Buy stamps online.
Susan is the SWEETEST and most patient USPS employee I have ever met. I had the wrong boxes, she gave suggestions on how to make it lower priced for me, and was so kind the entire time. I live in Hyde park and I always avoid going to that post office cause they are the rudest post office employees I have ever encountered. Susan deserves a raise and a luxurious vacation when she Retires!!
Wow! What a refreshing postal experience. Though there was only one person ahead of me, when I got to the counter, the woman apologized for my long wait. I was assisted with what I needed for my recent move and with stamps. The woman helping me was patient, kind, and efficient. And she was careful not to touch the belongings of mine that she needed to see.
Very disappointed in the customer service with USPS in general but especially this location. They delivered a package to my old address in Austin..even though I had successfully completed a change of address request to my new address in KS. I have called USPS customer support and this specific location over and over again and still over a month later do not have the package. They have not once answered the phone at this location and I have waited on the phone for HOURS to get to an operator at the customer service number. Unfortunately since I am not in the area I cant physically go to the station.
Had to go pick up a package that should have been delivered but, I got a message that it was undeliverable. After 1 hour there I FINALLY walked out. The lady at the counter was kind and helpful So the 1 rating goes to the person that should have delivered my package. There was NOTHING wrong with the package itself, nor the address on it.
I had the best experience today, Susan is an absolute gem and helped me navigate international shipping. Thank you Susan!! Also the team there in the afternoon are hilarious, I was laughing the whole time listening to their jokes and commentary with all the customers. Great service and great people!
If I could give it a zero, I would. The employees at this usps don’t really seem to care about the quality of their services.I had a very expensive, live package that said it was attempted for delivery on August 13, that was a lie and I was never notified.I won’t be able to get it until Monday now as I work a 12 hour shift and they’re so slow with their pickup services, a half hour as soon as it opens isn’t long enough for me to pick up a package.I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this location at all costs.
I feel so bad for the people who work here. They have ONE PERSON managing customer inquiries and package pick up. The few times Ive been there, entitled customers yell at the workers. I also heard another employee say he was given his instructions and could not help the single worker. What. The. Heck.I was told 2-3 weeks for my mailbox key but its be much longer than that. Because they only have the one person, I have to wait at least an hour. At least its clean? 🤷🏾♀️
Wait wasnt too bad considering its a big city and its holiday shipping prime time, but bring a book. That being said, some people were standing in the wrong line. Need more indication of self-service line and regular line. Also, Ron was super helpful and patient, and service was fast once you actually got to the desk.
I do empathize with many of the other reviewers here complaining about how busy this post office is and how it is very unlikely your phone call will be answered. However that being said, once you get here the employees are very helpful. They are doing their best to keep the line moving as quickly as possible. I had a passport appointment with Susan today and she provided excellent service. She made the application process effortless and made sure I was knowledgeable about every step. Give this lady a raise!
So, I just finished sending a late Christmas package which went fine as far as the person helping me doing their job well. But, the other Male employee there and the woman he was helping laughed when (I think his name was James who was great helping me and others) the guy helping me wasnt ablee to hear me asking if he was hanging in ok multiple times. I know he knows ASL from helping someone before me whos hearing impaired and I know how hard it is for the hearing impaired right now not being able to read lips especially since my partner is partially deaf from the army. I felt bad I couldnt accommodate him better and I talked too fast when I pulled my mask off but Im infuriated with the other employee and the customer laughing and the employee stating hes usually better despite my expressing that Im not mad and I know its hard these days. This kind of ableism and discrimination is unacceptable.
I love all the one star reviews! It makes it easy for me to get in and out of this post office. First people need to understand that they open at 8:30 am and sometimes they may be about 5 minutes late opening the gate...also, there is usually only one clerk to serve who is waiting at opening and then another clerk comes on at around 30 minutes later. I’ve used this post office for years and noticed they get very busy when the roads of Austin backup...Love this post office and the clerks are great too.
I went to get my keys for my office and they said they would take 4 to 6 weeks to get there. I said that’s fine is there anything I can do to expedite this process? They said I could pay $25 to get my keys in 1 to 3 days as this was obviously time sensitive. I go back on day four to go get them and they still aren’t there and they won’t give me back my money that I paid to get them rushed. Why provide a “rush” service in the first place? That’s what happens when you let government run a business. Oh well.
Gets a star because of the self serve kiosk being available at 3am. However, this post office is frustrating as my out-going packages often get lost at this location (assuming the drop box is available to be used, which isnt always the case), prepaid boxes arent often available in more than one size, and getting help in person takes ages (over the phone is impossible.)
This location is probably the worst Ive been to in Austin. I order/pay $25 for my mailbox key and employee states Ill get my key in 3 days but when I return in 5 days my order was never placed. This wasnt found out until after waiting in 2 separate lines and an hour and a half later. Employee now says my key will be expedited and ready in a couple days. Wont be counting on that though as this place is notorious for not paying attention to detail.
BEYOND dissatisfied with this post office. I have scheduled pickups from my location on a daily basis, yet we are skipped on an average of 3 out of 5 times a week. I have emailed, called and left notes for the post office yet there is no resolution. On the days they DO pickup, our bags holding the packages are taken and not given back. Additionally their bulk pickup is a joke. There is no such thing and when you ask for bulk pickup at their location they tell you to leave the packages on the ground. I am beyond frustrated.
On 8/03/2018 at 12:45 pm, I went to the mockingbird station zip 78745, to drop off a letter in one of the two large outside drop boxes. What I found was two completely filled boxes. I could not go inside to make a complaint because I had my dog with me. So I tried calling them on there phone number listed 512 It rang for about 8 minutes then gave me a busy signal. Then I tried the 800 number waited about 2 minutes to listen to everything I didn’t need but left my number so they /computer said I would be called back in one hour and 11 minutes. I have a hard time understanding how these two drop could possibly completely full, however due to there very low rating 1star, there supervision has to be lacking. I assume the Shute could be filled with letters now allowing mail to drop in the box or poorly trained personal when they open up the back of the drop box to retrieve mail at 5pm, never check the Shute to insure mail will pas freely to the bottom on the box. Needless to say I am still awaiting for my call back. Seems like someone needs to do a walk around and check drop boxes and employees to insure they have everything they need to do there job and are not sleeping. This action by supervision may bring there star rating up to 1.5 stars. Like the old man said anything is better than nothing at all and the benefits they receive a 5star rating! WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
Went in on Wednesday to get a replacement mail key. Service was fast and friendly. I was told to com Saturday and they would have my mail there for pickup. Not only did they have my mail bundled up nicely. My keys were already ready! I go to a lot of post offices for my job and this is definitely one of the best one out there.
Went here for a Passport Application appointment and wow. I could not have drawn up a more easy, painless appointment. Ron was SO helpful and he knows his stuff. The knowledge he shared was very useful and succinct and he had me out of there so efficiently. Thanks so much.
Why have a phone number if you dont answer it? I even submitted a ticket through USPS over a week ago that was sent to this location and still no contact. It appears everyone at this location is disinterested in helping customers receive or locate their mail.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get some improvement or how about just an answer to a question from this place?
No staff to help the Six Flags of line you have, the line wouldnt be that long either if you fix the self service door. The kiosk works great, took my money and gave me my packaging slip but as I go to drop them off the door of all things fails me. Apparently, as a nice lady informed me, this door has been not working for quite awhile and there is a sign on it from time to time....how do you mess up a door?! So now I have 2 slips and a bunch of boxes I need mailed off and you need to have a least 4 hours set aside to wait to ride the ride in your line.
The lines are usually so long. Ive gone here with my infant and had to wait 45 minutes to pick up a mail hold. When I first moved, I waited nearly 2 months for a key to the box. Each time I went to pick up, I provided my information and it would take a lot of time, but I would get my mail. Then one day, out of the blue, a guy told me I was supposed to have a form that was never issued to me, in order to prove who I was and pickup. He was actually the same guy who initially set up my mail hold and ordered the keys. 🤔 It seems he didnt even know the rules his self. Then, I found out they never checked on my keys when I was there, but the keys had been sitting there for weeks. There was no communication. No apology about failing to take that one step and check when I had requested. Its never a good experience, but not many post offices really are.
Its a post office... naturally going to be a bit of a hassle. But the folks that work here are always as helpful as possible and have never been anything but courteous to me. Considering its a government agency, Id say this one is run about as smoothly as you can hope. Ron was stellar in helping me apply for a passport.
Won’t print a shipping label that was prepaid for. Made me go find a printer since I don’t have one and everyone who prints are closed now due to carona virus. It’s unbelievable to me that usps can’t print something for you I was even willing to pay for it and they won’t use the printer sitting behind the counter so don’t ask lol. Then had to pay for packaging because my packaging said priority, it was just a return shipping using same box. Get it together United State Post Office
If I could give them less than one star I would. I do not write reviews- I am not that person, but for this place I will. In July I applied to get my mailbox keys changed and they told me it would take 2-3 weeks. So I waited. And called as they told me I should- of course no one ever answered. And I waited. And I called. Finally, after a month and half I just walked in to ask after them. Guy at the desk kinda laughs at me for waiting so long and then proceeds to look for it only to tell me they dont have it. Cant find my key anywhere. He tells me hell leave a message for the maintenance guy and have him call me the next day. Two weeks later I still have not been called. So I show up again, and they still cannot find my key and SURPRISE the maintenance guy is out until next week- but he will surely do it then. Went by the following week and no one has any idea what Im talking about. The staff scoff at me like I didnt ACTUALLY file to have my keys changed because I dont have the slip of paper the guy took from me the first time I came in to claim my keys. So I have to sign up to have my keys changed AGAIN. I am still waiting on them. Im going to be going in every day until I get them though. Just terrible customer service.
Susan who works here is amazing. We were nervous about getting our passport paperwork/money order correct and sent out on time and she took us in with a smile on her face and walked us through the entire process. We were not expecting that at all. Completely made our days. Best post office experience I have ever had thanks to Susan.
The absolute worst. Every single time a package is shipped through USPS this office manages to lose it, or it takes 3 extra days to get because I end up having to go pick it up from them myself. It takes minimum 35minutes to pick up a package from them because they are so slow. Two days ago UPS redirected a delivery to USPS and they marked it delivered in or at mailbox and it was not there. Called, tried to file a claim online, and I still have no answers to where my package could have gone. To say I despise this place would be an understatement.
Pathetic; packet meant to be delivered on December 10, 2019, has not been delivered , the tracking says” We attempted to deliver your package at 12.09 pm on December 10, 2019 in AUSTIN, TX 78748 but could not access the delivery location. We will redeliver on the next business day”The reasoning given is untrue, l stay in an apartment complex, with a functioning leasing office between 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs on all weekdays from Monday to Saturday; so the inability to find access is simply untenable.UPS; FEDEX and AMAZON etc all do find access, except USPS fellow who couldn’t , he was probably visually and mentally impaired. There is an assigned mail box in the mail room, it could have been left there.Today, is the 9 January 2020; the packet still remains undelivered, probably the next business day after December 10, 2019 has not yet arrived for USPS at Mockingbird Post Office, ZIP 78745, Austin, TX.Wonder, if someone in authority bothers to read or act on reviews.
For the past seven years, we have found this USPS stations employees to be friendly, helpful and efficient at all times. We always remind ourselves that they are dealing with a generally disgruntled public, and therefore, we maintain a patient and friendly demeanor ourselves.Maybe thats why they always greet us with a smile and a helpful attitude.
I dont appreciate the passive aggressive notes our mail service gives us. Instead of helpful information on incorrect mail in our box or missed deliveries, we get rude comments. No notes where to pick up missed packages or options for redelivery. Completely unacceptable and a true sign of pettiness, incompetence, and laziness.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND handling your postal services here.I stood in a line for over 30 minutes, when the staff member finally assist me I informed him the key to my PO BOX would not fit.He left to find assistance with my problem, return 10 minutes later & told me they are closing & redirected me to a longer line.Once I was redirected to another line I repeated my story to another employee, informing him the key did not fit the box.Emil, another staff member, interrupted my conversation with the employee whom was assisting me & stated “turn the key around”I informed him “I tried that”Emil then repeated to me, “we’ll go try it again”.He was rude, distasteful, and belligerent.More than one customer complained on this Emil guy that same day.Not all the staff members are like this, some of them go out their ways to make sure to ensure all your needs are met.But one bad apple can spoil the bunch.**PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE WHEN DEALING WITH A PLACE LIKE THIS.**Your wait time will always be 20-45 minutes. They are extremely short staffed.
Spoke to someone at the window about a failed informed delivery. Please don’t offer this service if you as the post office cannot fulfill these obligations. I spoke with a supervisor named Leah, who was not rude but very uninformed. When a payroll check is not delivered, there’s a possibility there is theft or your carriers just don’t give a damn about their jobs. I get you most of you hate your jobs and don’t want to be there but you signed a contract to work with the public. If usps cannot handle delivering the mail privatize it.
This post office is the worst Ive ever experienced. Im now up to over $100 in lost packages and none of these idiots have a clue where they are. They mark delivered and nothing is there or, they forget to leave a key so I can open the box. I have a package right at this moment that is nowhere to be found. And several others that will never be found. Ive been to the post office many times to track down packages and they look at me like Im bothering them when I ask where my package is at. They are condescending, and frankly do not care about your issues. This place is a disgrace and they should be ashamed of how they treat people.
Although the line was long (there were only two workers), I think it was because it was the end of the month and people were trying to get bills paid, etc. The workers were nice and very helpful once I finally got to speak with them.On a side note, our mail carrier is based out of this office and he is the nicest guy.He explained to us that if the mail center seems a little under-staffed its because they are! Even so, I have yet to run into any problem or delay I didnt find reasonable.
Worst, most under-staffed and least-helpful location Ive ever been forced to have as my mail station. They DO NOT answer the phone. It goes to voicemail. They only have ONE PERSON to help with the line for packages that THEY MISHANDLED. The last line was 8 people long and I waited for 25 minutes before leaving without any contact. They continue to lose my packages and DO NOT FOLLOW UP. Ive had to file multiple cases for one package. I am going to report this branch to the postmaster general -- again -- for gross negligence.
They didn’t delivery my package and lied that I was not on the mailing list of the complex. I checked with my complex and it is just not correct.I have been trying to call them for weeks now and no one has answered me once.My address was the same for the sender and mailing so now no one knows where my package is. I have called over 20 times not to the customer services and they are no help as well. Now my case shows as solved!!! How can it be solved when nobody has contacted me to apologize or to tell me where my package is!!!!
This post office is a disgrace. My mail carrier delivers my packages to the wrong address, never to be seen again. Ive called multiple times and either dont get an answer, the phone picks up and beeps like a fax machine, or the manager lies about calling back and helping with the situation. 4 different packages have been delivered incorrectly over the past few months. The bad thing is that Im at their mercy and not one thing gets done. Thank you USPS.
I went over there to ask about a package they said they delivered to me which I didnt actually get. They guy was pretty rude to me and just told me to check again with my front office. He talked to me as if I was an idiot when I was trying to explain to him that UPS delivered the package to them to be delivered to me. Its not my fault hes unfamiliar with method of shipping in his line of work. I tried to call later to ask about it but they might as well not even have a phone. It just rings forever.
I went to pick up my post office key last week and was seen pretty quickly. The employee collected my information and gave me a sheet of paper with post office contact info and an estimated time my key would be ready...2-3 weeks. She said that that was what they have to tell everyone but it could be ready earlier. The paper says to call to verify your keys are ready so that you can ideally avoid sitting in a line just to hear that your key isnt ready yet. Today I have called the number at least 10 times. Each time the voice tells you you are being transferred to an operator and each time the phone rings for about 3 minutes and stops with a busy signal. Looks like Im just gonna have to wait in that line fora while just to be told that my key isnt ready!
They dont answer the phone and the lines are too long with only two people working. They dont multi-task well. Too many people get to the front of the line and dont have their packages ready and then sit there writing long letters and what not while others are waiting to be served. I spent over half an hour in line yesterday to just pick up mail. They need an express line and for those who are in a hurry. The staff was nice though so I didnt make a fuss but it was a bad experience. Now apparently they have changed the lock on my mailbox after repairs from a break in two weeks ago and I was not given a new key.
If I could give a negative 100 I would. you can’t get a human being on the phone to ask how to get something done. They make you stand in line 40 minutes, only to take back what the clerk took care of. They are as bad (maybe worse) as North Austin’s Bluebonnet station. Another person was telling me that their packages are constantly mid--delivered and they come to the station, stand in line only to be told they have to talk to the carrier and will get a call back the same day. They NEVER get a call back. The USPS’ weak attempt at “service” is a JOKE. Maybe instead of spending g millions on sponsorships ad advertising, they should get an efficiency expert to streamline everything g and send everyone to customer service school
I don’t understand the negative reviews, they have an excellent staff here. I accidentally dropped off the wrong package with the wrong label. I came back hours later to try and get the package before it was picked up. Jeremy looked in the back and found it for me saving me from a world of grief. People here are always very friendly, they go above and beyond their job descriptions. Shipping supplies are always here as well which I really appreciate. Go to the post office on E. 6th street if you think this one is bad.
This a super busy location that services not only the largest zip code in Austin but 2 others. So it has never been the staff. The lines depending on time can be 20 minutes to 45 in wait time. Today the outside mailboxes were literally overflowing. I had to go inside to drop off my mail. This is a safety risk. No only that there were 20 people in line and 2 people behind the counter. This is also the fault of the main office not providing an adequate budget for staff. Maybe they should look at some of the other locations here tjst I jave walked into and they were well over staffed and move a person or 2. But then that is tje logical thing to do.
Horribly slow employees. Have to pick up my Rx from here via the quick service window every month and it typically takes me 30 minutes if there isnt a long line, 45+ minutes if there isnt. As I type this Ive been here for a half hour and there was literally one person in front of me and Im still waiting for them to bring me my medication. So annoying. This is why people hate the post office..Update: after another 10 min they came back and said they couldnt find it. I told them they better go look real carefully because its a schedule 1 controlled substance. 2 minutes later it magically turns up. Isnt that something. Boycott this place.
I wonder who is in charge of the employees for this post office? Is very common to miss packages, except for bills and advertisements, they always make it on time.I don’t trust this specific post office. They hired careless people to do their job.If you buy something on line and this is your post office. Be aware that it might get lost.
I visit this post office often have for years. The workers are very nice and helpful. I see people come in and ask for unreasonable things. For example, over the years in line I have seen employees blamed fro broken mail boxes, arriving at the post office too late and just simple rudeness. Just be nice and take responsibility.
Scheduled a passport appointment over a month in advance. Once I showed up, they said the person was on vacation and there was nothing they could do. They didnt even attempt to schedule me for the next possible time slot. They could not of cared less. I went to the passport services on campus and they were great, speedy, and very helpful.
My mailboxes at the apartment complex have been left open by the usps mailman, resulting in an open mailbox for 200 residents, free for all. They are making me wait in the line that you pick packages up. My situation has absolutely nothing to do with picking up a package. The ignorance is astonishing. Its 4pm, Monday, 25 person line.
Marked my Fed Ex via Smart Post package as delivered, even though it wasnt. My only option per Fed Ex is to call my local post office. Been doing that all morning non-stop and it just rings until it hangs up. Who gets away with that? If this were an actual business who had to be accountable to their customers they wouldnt be in business.
Due to a medical emergency Ive been out of my home for over a month. I have a wonderful postman named Kevin who I know made sure my mail went where it should. Returned or picked up by a family member. I did not miss 1 piece of mail that I know of. Ive been home almost 3 weeks. Suddenly, I get NO mail this week! None, nada. I dreaded having to even make a call to the post office. Surprisingly the phone didnt ring very long. But I had to deal with an actual BLOCKHEAD! This fellow resisted even looking my address up on his computer to check any issues regarding my mail service. I asked to speak with the boss but she was in a meeting. Isnt everyone? He then DID look up my address, found nothing. He was done and I had to insist that he check with my postman. All this resistance to serve a customer is ... weird. It was like wrestling with a sullen kid to get my information. Creepy in my humble opinion (IMHO). I love the United States Postal Department. I collect stamps & we (U.S.) invented the stamp! Very sad that this mans behavior didnt reflect any pride in his work!
This location does not answer the phone, my mail carrier doesnt deliver my mail if he doesnt feel like it - I havent had mail delivered since last Friday - its Wednesday. I have a tracking notice that tells me a one of a kind item was on the truck for deliver on Monday. Im POd. Does anyone care? Is there anyone I can complain to? The answer is no. No wonder the USPS is going out of business if this is the typical way of dealing with customers. Postal workers are the biggest bunch of curmudgeons Ive ever had to deal with. They could care less about customer service.
Mailed a package 9 days ago and my customer still hasnt received it. I checked the tracking and it shows that it never left. I shipped it PRIORITY! I PAID OVER $8 TO SHIP IT AND YOU LOST IT AT THE START POINT, VERY IRRESPONSIBLE. NOT TO MENTION MOST OF THE COUNTER EMPLOYEES A VERY RUDE...
Edit:I am happy to report that I finally received a phone call back from this location this morning. The gentleman was very kind and understanding of the phone situation. He cleared up my concerns and indicated my package would be held as requested. Thank-you so much for reaching back out to me. I am happy to bump the review up based on my most recent interaction.Original:Does anyone answer the phone at this location? I have called multiple times and all it does is ring. I am out of state and have been trying to get in touch with regards to a package delivered there and it doesnt seem like there is an effective alternative contact method.
Long lines, theres never more than two people helping customers, I always need to make international shipments but they dont have the international shipping forms available. Once I got a notice to pick up a package at Mockingbird Station, but when I got there, they couldnt find it. Their response was, sorry, contact the shipper. And when I try to schedule USPS pickup at my home through the USPS website, I get confirmation online but the mail carrier never picks up my mail. It is just left at my doorstep. Worthless.
This has to be the worst experience I have ever had with USPS period. Got sent a package to the correct address, they marked it as undeliverable as addressed, when I contacted USPS main line to find out why they played the blame game and said to make sure the package was addressed correctly by the sender, Played their stupid game, and guess what, sender sent me a picture of the packaging showing the correct address, sent out again and again got marked undeliverable as addressed but received other mail from them that same day to the supposedly undeliverable address. And good luck trying to contact them as mentioned in several of the other reviews might as well not even have a number. Too bad I cant just switch to UPS or Fedex for regular mail otherwise I would never in a million years use them again. Has completely ruined my opinion of USPS. Somebody please do something about this horrible location
If a box is too large to fit In the mailbox, our mail carrier just shoves it in there anyway. The boxes are damaged and the contents are scattered all over the inside of the box. I have gone out to get the mail and am unable to get the box out. Have had to come back to the house and get a tool to pry the thing out of there. So beyond lazy and ridiculous! Clearly, the box is too large for the mailbox!
Three miserable experiences and counting. 1. Cut-ins are rampant with the supervisor saying to go ahead and do it, ahead of a line of 8 people already waiting. 2. A clerk actually lectured me on manners so everyone could hear that I ask all the people if I could be in line before a new clerk AFTER a supervisor placed me there because of complications with the clerks mistakes. 3. I have a box because of travel. The box clerk said she put the notice in the box 2 weeks ahead of time and closed my box after 15 YEARS of having a box. I was there one day after due date. 14 years there had been an extra 2 week notice. She stated we should check the box everyday in the most cocky manner. Why have one? Go anywhere else. The last good clerk resigned 3 months ago.
For one they lost a very important piece of mail for my brother and second they took my baby girls Christmas gifts. I orderd packages from Walmart that they claimed they delivered to my front door on Monday at 6:30pm ( I tracked my packages) which I was at home, no knock at my door and no packages outside of my door. Crazy part is I had a small package from bath and body works outside my door that they say they delivered the same day at 1:30pm while I was at work. How is that i received one package and not the other one, and how is it they were delivered at two different times???? When you call they dont pick up the phone rings until it hangs up. Poor service full of thieves dont trust anything with this post office.
They were suppose to deliver an international package to us for our baby room. A very important and sentimental piece for our new baby. They said they tried to deliver it to us but no one was home and did not leave a note or anything so we had to track it down and ended up at this location and was never notified. I have called and called and called, literally hundreds of times to make sure its there and to come pick it up myself. They havent responded to one of the phone calls. This place is horrible as I have been there in person many times and have walked out due to how slow they were. The one time I actually waited in line for over an hour they were rude and didnt seem to care one bit about anything they were doing. Its like this place is trying to be the worst business and customer service in the world. I would give in no stars if I could. I am pretty sure my wife will deliver the baby before they ever answer the phone. Ridiculous!!
Disregarding all things everyone hates about the long-lined-bureaucratic-hell that is the USPS, this station has to take the cheese as the WORST post office ever! Ive never met so many mean, horrible, hateful employees that have no problem letting you know how much they hate their jobs and you.Outside of the terrible staff at the desk, Ive never had so many issues with my carriers (mainly the substitutes). I am constantly getting missed pick ups, or being sassed by some sub telling me I dint schedule a pick up when I schedule one EVERYDAY.I CAN NOT WAIT TO MOVE OUTSIDE OF THE MOCKINGBIRD USPS STATION. You are absolute garbage and you should feel bad. No wonder the USPS constantly runs at billions of dollars in deficit.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. My mail has not been delivered in over a week. A package with express shipping never arrived as they stated it was an incorrect address. It was not incorrect. I called to ask where this package was. One person answered and told me he was not in the office and to call back on Monday, I asked if I had the right number, since that is a very strange response, and he said yes. Since then, I have called about 10 times and no one has answered. The package was returned to the sender today and hopefully they will get it right the second time around. It took them over 3 weeks to give me my mailbox key when I first bought my home. I went up there at least 4 times, on the dates they told me to come, and the key was never there.
Absolutely the worst USPS Ive ever been to. Unfortunately its the closest one to where I live.Understaffed place, very slow employees, never pick up the phone. Dont be surprised that youll be waiting over an hour in the line and theyll send you to the customer office.3.45pm-4.15pm is the least waiting time.Air conditioning seems to be set at 80F
This place and its employees are the worst group of incompetent rejects I’ve ever had the displeasure of interacting with. We’ve been waiting for mailbox keys for over a month and have tried to pick them up three times already. The mailman just rang my doorbell to start a verbal altercation about the fact we can’t check our full mailbox because we haven’t been given keys. Good luck to anyone else that has to deal with them.
Ive been waiting for them to make my mailbox key for the cluster in my neighborhood for over 2 months now (originally quoted up to 30 days, I go check on the status and for mail on hold about once a week). After one month, one of the guys gave me a key that was one digit off my address but had my unit #...he was like this has been here a while, maybe this will work? It didnt work. Not because it was the incorrect address but because the key didnt even work on the box it was assigned to. I went back and the lady I spoke to was profussly apologetic. She said she would fast track my key to be ready the next week. I come back 2 weeks later. The branch manager or whomever is supposed to be on top is working the window and acts as if theres nothing to be found regarding my key getting made. He says hes trying to fix a lot of problems. There was a guy in line in front of me with a similar situation - he was not happy. Two days later, I get a call at 7am (not appreciated) asking what my unit number is. Seriously??? I attempted to call back 3 times with no answer. The people who work here give OK service for simple things but its clear no one really knows what the F is going on.
A true pinnacle of poor customer service and inefficiency. Health insurance companies, cable companies, and cell phone companies should take note cause this is how its done. Your employees working too hard? Are 5 people doing the job of 5 people? Send them to this location to learn the intricacies of unproductivity and minimal effort. Theyll come back completely ready to tackle situations that are easily handled by using the most resources possible.
The African American lady that assists customers with picking up their packages has the worst attitude and customer service of anyone I have ever dealt with. I dread going to this post office because of her. I wish the federal government would realize that if they want to compete with FedEx and UPS they need to listen to their customers and provide what we need and learn some customer service and stop acting like they are doing us a favor. I do not ship with USPS because of her and will never. I do not want to subject anyone to that type of treatment.
Waited in line for mail that was held. Received mail, but not packages. Any attempts to call are wasted time, as they either do not answer or put you on hold then do not answer.Id liken this location and the buffoons that staff it to the DMV, but thats doing the DMV a disservice.Id like to see their pensions defunded, and paid at market rates so the USPS has to survive on its own. Im fine with Fedex/UPS handing everything forward as they know how to operate.
I spoke to a gentleman here, to help me track down an item that had been sitting at the main distribution plant for three days without being delivered. He put me on hold and said he was making some calls to figure things out. Because this was a gift for someone, and because the hold times were about an hour long due to the hurricane, I sat on hold for 90 minutes. When my call was disconnected I called back. Another man(?) answered and I explained I had been on hold for 90 minutes, which he sarcastically repeated back to me. Then when I said I thought he had been working on my problem while I waited, he said I just got back from lunch and the heard the phone ringing, so thats where we are at. Are you just going to keep complaining, or can I help you? I said Excuse me?, and he said OK, then hung up. I called back and another gentleman answered the phone(?), who helped me and gave me another number to contact. Needless to say, this station is extremely unprofessional. Pathetic customer service from some of the personnel.
USPS is a joke. No one ever knows whats going on and there is no communication between the Customer Care Center and local offices. I have been trying to get a package for almost a week now and no one seems to know where it is.Dont even bother trying to call this location, no one ever answers the phone. The staff is nice enough when you go in but they really need more people working there.
The carrier for our apartment always takes our packages to the office instead of delivering them. We have parcel boxes on the property that they can leave our packages in and still I NEVER get my packages! They are extremely worthless at this establishment. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to deliver the package to the lock boxes. I can’t run up to the post office as I have a disability this is outrageous!
If there was a way to post without a star, I would do it! Worst post office! Not only do they consistently lose packages and say that they have been delivered, they also have the worst customer service and never answer the phone. When you try to figure out the problem in store, they have the attitude of welp, your problem. Not ours. So frustrating and this is why people use other means to ship instead of USPS....WASTE!
This place is the worst, the average review speaks for itself. Maybe its too old / too small to be serving as much of South Austin as it is, but it is NEVER an enjoyable experience coming here. Every single time you end up waiting in line for at least an hour. They only have ONE person handling package pickup. Avoid coming here if at all possible.
I keep trying to get my mail redelivered here since the person who sent it did not write the correct address by a number. It is a money order that has 1200 on it these horrible employees have not even fixed or found the package to my knowledge. I went up to the place and gave them the correct address and the man said he would get somebody on it and have it redelivered. However I have yet to see my mail redelivered in three days. I need this money and thesr blockheads cant find a package that has everything they need. I will be going back soon to see if they have even found it.
I got a message saying they were gonna deliver my package today and I live in an apartment complex so I thought either they will leave it at the front office or knock on my door. Hours went by and I decided to get check the mail to see if they put it in the mailbox instead but all I found was a pink slip saying sorry we missed you and that I have to sign for my package when nobody even came to my door so how the hell was I suppose to know that they were at the office waiting for me so now I have to drive to the post office to pick up my package
This has been consistently rated one of the worst post offices in the United States. If you have recently moved to an area served by the Mockingbird Post Office on Manchaca Lane, consider yourself warned. They reject most of the mail that comes to this location as return to sender. Other mail is simply lost. The Postmaster serving this location is completely inept and basically ignores all complaints. If you live in this area, you should take out a PO Box at a DIFFERENT post office in the center of the city and drive to pick up your mail. It is the only way to ensure you will receive it. For packages, try to use Fedex or UPS. If you are moving to this area, you should consider the PO Box/Fedex/UPS as an additional cost to build into your property rental/purchase. Another option to consider is to use electronic billing from anyone who sends you a paper bill in the mail.
This post office has someIf the most incompetent people working there. You would think that if a package was undeliverable to address they would ship the package back to sender but apparently that requires to much logic on their part. This post office really needs to get their act together because the way they are operating now is discraceful. I have officially lost all faith in the postal system. Next time I need to ship an item Ill use FedEx or UPS before I use USPS.
They dont answer their phone for starters. And I have called several times on several occasions. Also, I have often had personal letters, and checks sent to me from tenants, as well as people I do business with to find that it takes up to 10 to 15 days to receive. One was from someone who lives in the same zip code 78745 as me. Also, I often do not receive the mail until 7 or 8pm at night. I wonder how well a postal worker can do his job in the dark. HORRIBLE SERVICE. What a testament to the richest government on Earth in the History of the World and they cant deliver the mail in the 21st Century.
This Post Office is run by complete idiots! I sent my daughter a package that required her signature. They tried delivering it to her apartment mailbox which isn’t that bad. They left the I’m sorry we missed you note & said she could pick it up the next day at the Post Office. She goes in the next day & they tell her they “accidentally” sent it back to me. The Post Office is the epitome of what is wrong with government & Austin should probably just have all their Postal Workers hold their breath until they get their heads out of their posteriors. The sad part is all my friends who work at the Post Office here in Abilene cannot understand or explain why the Austin Post Office lacks all form of self respect or pride. They obviously have no accountability & honestly if they stopped working nobody would actually notice.
Just got a HAND thrown in my FACE at my apartment complex by the mail delivery courier after stepping less than 1 inch into the mailroom door. He didnt address me, didnt even make eye contact, just said you need to come back in 20 minutes! while literally holding his HAND in my FACE.I replied, could you be any nicer about it? and turned to leave, in which he FOLLOWED ME out to my car screaming and demanding my name. Why on earth would he need my name when hes the one handling my packages??? What was he planning on doing after that incredibly abrupt, abrasive interaction?Super sketchy. Called the office three times with no answer, and they have their answering machine deactivated. Creepy, clearly-upset employees that are total jerks to residents.
This is the WORST post office EVER-I can NEVER get in contact with anyone. The phone will ring and ring and then get disconnected as if it is a fax machine. The customer service 800 number is just as worse. Like...get it together. It is no wonder that we will no longer be needing them soon. UPS and FedEx seem to be it.
After living at my address for almost 2 years, I received a notice in my box stating that the address was VACANT. I took the notice to the post office to figure out if there was some mistake and was told we needed to report to the mail person exactly who lived at that address. Then the whole incident was blamed on some person named Rudy! But the saga continues... I then received a notice that the box was full and no mail could be delivered! A week ago I received a Christmas Card that was postmarked December 19th! Other mail has simply been returned to sender! I plan to go paperless as much as possible and will ask relatives to send e-cards from now on.
We waited 2 hours after we were given the wrong date on our passport appointments to leave empty handed. Never were we told that they wouldnt be able to service us until 5 minutes before we left. When I asked if they had info on a no-appointment office they rudely responded and told me I couldnt take a picture of the small poster right next to the desk.
Quite possibly the worst place I have ever needed to go. Lines are always too long, there are only 2 people working 5 counters always. Their phones have been broken for 3+ weeks, and some of the employees who could easily be replaced by IPads hold some sense of empowerment like a little league umpire or a very small bouncer. If I could I would go anywhere else, but I am restricted because of where I live.
This place is a joke. I ordered a 75$ package a month ago, it was delivered on 12/12, but it never arrived. I opened a lost package inquiry over the phone (after holding for 40 minutes) on 12/14, and I was told I would be contacted in 2 business days, they never called. After waiting in line for an hour today and meeting with the supervisor, I was told my package was no where to be found, and was given a written apology from the customer service team. No reimbursement.
This place gets 3 stars ONLY because of the perseverance of the downtrodden employees: not ONE of them has ever been anything other than helpful, kind, and professional toward me.Yes, this branch is chronically understaffed. Yes, it is always ridiculously busy. So PLAN AHEAD when you need to come here, because it ain’t gonna be a cake walk getting your business done.AS LONG as you approach whomever is serving you kindly and with patience, they’ll treat you with respect and listen to you and do everything in their power to help you. If you walk up to the counter angry and yelling, you probably will get different results. Regardless, almost all the customers in there are p¡ssed off and angry because the place is such a disaster. Again - give yourself PLENTY of time and possibly a chill pill before going in. Its almost always going to be a clusterfk.Mark, who is either the branch manager/a supervisor/postmaster, I don’t know, is a serious rock star. He works his @ss off to try and make this branch not a nightmare. Dealing with him is always a pleasure (and I’ve had to deal with him a lot, because for whatever reason, my god-awful mail carrier returns all my important stuff to sender. So please be kind to Mark!!And just remember.... the USPS is a federally/funded institution. Think about your people you voted for sitting up in Washington and ask yourself whether they’re sending your tax dollars to help public services like hiring postal workers/paying them commensurate wages... or using said dollars to pay for dumb stuff like sending the National Guard to patrol the border or launch air strikes on foreign countries. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
This post office deserves its horrible reputation. You can schedule a redelivery because they tried to deliver a certified letter while you were at work, but they will just straight up not do it... twice. And then you are past the window for redelivery, even though they never tried to do it in the first place. Then, when you try to call them during normal business hours, it will ring for a very long time and then emit a HIGH PITCHED WAIL at you until you hang up. I would rather not even have a post office.
Carrier failed to pick up my mail and my neighbors. Tracked him down and he said oh yeah you didnt have any incoming so I didnt pick up. Called to complain and was put on hold for approx 30 - 55 mins. No way to run a business. Normally Im a fan of the PO but this is ridiculous.
I moved a few months ago from Kyle - and between them blaming the Manchaca Office and the Manchaca Office (who DOES NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE) blaming Kyle, months later my mail is still a mess. I have not received bills, mortgage statements (LOVE the one that came last week soaking wet), mail from friends / family / checks from clients, stock checks, you name it.I have filed many complaints. I have spent many hours - with this post office and the one in Kyle. The first time I spoke with LaKisha who had me fill out a change of address form (again!). She assured me this would take care of the problem. It did not. Really sucks when your son doesnt receive his W-2 forms, when I dont receive my tax forms, when every time I think I have this straightened out, yet again I find something missing. Last week a client mailed a check from Buda. (because she already tried once from Kyle, and NEITHER of us ever saw it). A week later, it shows back up at her place of business, undeliverable, return to sender. THIS IS WHERE I LIVE PEOPLE, HOW FREAKING HARD IS IT????
I have called non stop, trying to get them to pick up the phone... they NEVER answer the phone. They said they delivered my package in the parcel box at our mailboxes but they didnt leave me a key.... Really people? Now we know why everyone has gone to doing things online. Unreliable postal service.
I had a package coming in yesterday I waited at hone all day to get an update that said delivery attempted but nobody ever came by my house. Its crazy how a package that needs a signature was trying to be fit inside of a mailbox, what kind of jackass does that? I cant wait until Monday so I can speak to the post master about this incident and if that individual dont do anything im going to regional because you expect people to do their job honestly and wholeheartedly but I guess that dont exist anymore. DO YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!
Horrible customer service. Lazy employees that spawn from lazy management.I have to schedule a package pickup 2-3 days IN A ROW and sometimes they still dont pick up. Ive spoke with the manager regarding this issue and he assures me things are different now that Im in charge. Nothing has changed. Incompetent. Rude. Lazy. Condescending. Passive aggressive.
They act like a Government agency, dont pick up the phone when you call. Delivered a priority mail box that was ripped open and most of the contents were missing. How this happened and nobody noticed is way beyond me since the contents weigh about 4 lbs each and are made out of steel and 3 were missing.
Recently, this beaten down office lost a birthday present package I was only trying to ship to Arlington, TX. Better still, years ago this office Lost a gift bottle of scotch direct from Edinburgh, Scotland for weeks of me coming back and repeatedly having them search for it as I confirmed that it had been delivered by the Scottish company that shipped it. An employee looked around the office and discovered it sitting at one of the employees desks. It was obvious that it was a bottle of scotch from the packaging and shipping details, and highly likely someone thought theyd just hide the package and keep it past the tracking period and claim it as lost. Unbelievable.
This is generally a nice post office overall. I have only found one issue and that is one lady worker requires the customer place the mailing address on the DELIVERY CONFIRMATION FORM that gets date stamped that is for the customers records not the POST OFFICEs. I found this a bit ridiculous when other employees for the post office do not require this of the customers because it is for their records so should be up to them. Also the set-up of the post office in the front is not very practical when standing in line and trying to grab a form to fill out for your mailing needs. There definitely needs to be some improvements and some consistencies practiced so that people do not feel discriminated against. Another day I was in this post office and the lady who made me fill out the mailing address on the delivery confirmation form had another lady who she was helping that she did not require this of. The staff member is white, not hispanic/mexican or indian or black. I am indian and female so I am not sure if she is sexists or racists but the lady that was at the front counter who she was helping that day who was white did not have to fill out the addresses on her delivery confirmation forms- she had many eBay packages going out. This is 2011 now and people should treat everyone equally and fairly regardless of gender or color. I also think that post offices should remain open on Sat- it would be a de-service to the public to close all of them on Saturdays. Also main post offices nears bus-lines should be left open on Sat. for people who do not have vehicles. Thanks.
Needed to schedule an appointment to submit a passport application. Website states by appointment only and to call. They dont even pick up the phone and after the initial recording, you only get a busy signal. After reading the rest of the reviews on here, not surprised.
The most horrifying location in all of South Austin. No one answers the phones, no one mans the counters, lines are always 30+ minutes. When you actually do get to speak to someone, in person or over the phone, they are nauseatingly rude and makes you wonder how and why we still need the USPS anyway.
SmartPost is perhaps the worst service in history to ever deliver packages. They have screwed up deliveries to my address multiple times, and this post office never picks up the phone. You have to go in and wait 45 minutes to have someone tell you that according to them, the package was delivered. Too bad for you that it was not to your actual address.
Postman delivered package to wrong place - completely different address. HOW? Simply not paying attention to the only detail that matters in that position... THE ADDRESS. lol.The actual post office doesnt pick up the phone line. The people at the post office were nice though but still no package and not sure if it has been found yet. Problem still not solved. It was sent as a 2-day priority mail to get it to me in time for a bday present. Not very thrilled. WEE! *sings circus song*
If I did not need the mail to get lost so I can have a once a week headache with this post office I would do everything fed ex. as it is now. They have given me conflicting reports blamed their own failings on me corrected me and then passed the buck on whos fault it is. I can only pity whomever else they have screwed over in a very it isnt my fault ,so calm down manner. I should let them review me for not being a very good customer that likes to get screwed by this circus!! I hope this was helpful. I wont go down there to complain as there failings would cause me to have blood vessels burst in every manner possible.
Doesnt even deserve 1 star, My elderly mom sent a small package from Wichita, KS with a tracking number. Mockingbird office will not answer phone, according to tracking site package has been delivered. Im more worried about my Moms well being since this episode of the incompetent USPS office has upset her so much.
Two packages: one is my wedding album and the other is an order I placed. According to the website, they have both been delivered, but I have yet to receive either. I cant, for the life of me, think of a reason anyone would want to steal my wedding photo album. Tried to call this post office to figure out what the problem was--of course I get no answer.
Wow...this scale isnt even close to acceptably accurate for how LOUSY an UNRELIABLE the postal service from this post office is. They have not delivered forwarded mail correctly for 6 months, lost two of my drivers licenses as I attempted to change address, failed to deliver 2 packages that could have been put in a package mailbox and instead announced that no one was home so they couldnt leave it (even though someone WAS home) or because it was raining ( what is that old postal saying...??) They act as though you have the problem when you complain and NEVER do anything to improve their service. THEY SUCK!!!!!! Is that a rating?
This location is not good place to pick up your mail. They will take up to 20-30 mins to get your mail and this me saying this on a separate few weeks. They can never ask questions properly and will drift you away as long as you dont need help anymore. This is truly bad and seems nobody can do anything about this.
The lines are very confusing when you walk in, every time I’m here people are always asking where they should be. I have never gotten out quicker than 45 mins, and the time doesn’t change this. The people working here are very friendly, but the system and efficiency is horrible!!
I have lived here for 20+ years...this is THE worst post office. long lines, horrible customer care, cant get a hold of anyone on the phone, if there is a problem they dont know how to fix it.I wish my mail didnt come through this particular station, If you are dropping off i recommend the post office in Manchaca...its right down the road and they are super efficient.
This place is terrible l have been waiting for month and a half just to get the key for my mailbox, fill out a form to get my mail at their place that was supposed to take a day, went on the weekend that was 5 days after and no mail and key yet after been in there waiting for 1 hour just to be told they don’t have anything. This place is trash and sucks.
So yesterday I came in and realized after a while in the pick up line that I wouldnt have time to continue since I had to work in 30 min, today I got in that same line and they told me to wait in the main line when I got up to the clerk she told me to move back to the pick up line and the woman behind me was going through the same process. Im trying to be as patient as possible but I think this post office needs to work on their organization and costumer service as soon as possible please
Theyve decided to make a very slow location even slower by designating a line for ALL mail and packages pickup..The line gets really really long and picking up a certified letter or package requires that you pack lunch to go here.. I didnt think it would get worse, I was wrong..
Didnt put my card in the mailbox because I wasnt there, I come in 4 days later and they shipped it back to the card company. 15 days max is the x amount of days they are suppose to wait to ship something back. This place sucks, slow service and one person working in the package room. Hire more staff or shut down!
After weeks of trying to get someone on the phone to setup a passport appointment, randomly 1 day someone answers the phone and told me that they were COMPLETELY booked for passport appointments for the next two months.. though I thought he was full of it, I wasnt sure If I would ever have this grand opportunity again so I said ...ok, that will work I guess. Then, the guy said ok let me put you on hold so I can grab the schedule.... after the first 5 minutes I knew the dude pulled a fast one one me but I was curious how it would play out. I turned on speaker phone and set it on the table and went about my evening eventually forgetting all about it until an hour or so later... still on hold... So I had my wife call from her phone... busy signal... Really???
I have had a PO box at this location for over 10 years...same box. For the last several months I have had mail returned to sender saying the box is closed. Went to window to complain and they said someone had just made a mistake. This is the third time this has happened. I dont know what I going on, but its very frustrating. I renewed the box for 2 years the last time...its not closed!
I was expecting two packages on September 1, 2015 that my postman or postwoman said they tried to deliver and the customeer refused them and sent them back to the company from which i had ordered them. That is a LIE i was home all day and no one knocked or rang the bell. I am so mad I could spitHORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!! MS FUDALA
Mail gets delivered late and often to the wrong address. Many times online status will be updated as delivered but still be on the truck and actually delivered 2-3 days later. Actual branch is also very slow to scan in packages. Twice community mailbox has been left open and unlocked.
They hardly EVER pick up the phone is there is no expeditious manner to email that location!!!! In addition, rarely ever do they have enough people working the counter. When you do actually get to talk to a human being they are very polite and actually help. Pity getting to that point is so damn difficult!
9 out of 10 pieces of mail sent to me requiring pick up from here have disappeared into the literal ether OR some USPS hole of understaffed /relatively inefficent staff who could care less. I could say more but Id just be repeating what every one else has been saying ad nausem. Not to mention its like 85 degrees inside.
Always one person helping a line of 30 people. Terrible management and terribly understaffed. Typical government ran garbage. Unfortunately they cant receive less then 1 star. No matter what time of day you come here bring a lunch and some reading material its gonna eat up quite a bit of your day.
There is always a long line forming, even before they open. Such a disastrous experience with a toddler. Now trying to reach them via phone regarding a lost package, and no one is picking up.There was a time when we thought a package was lost, and it actually took about 3 months to arrive from Long Island.
ANSWER YOUR #$%@#$ PHONE! ugh.Ive called about 6 times now, about 5 minutes apart, let the phone ring until I eventually get a busy signal and have to hang up, it rings about 15-20 times, how $%^&* hard is it to answer a phone?!?!?! So incredibly frustrated, words cannot describe. :(
Prepare to spend at least an hour here just pick a simple package. Also bring headphones as there are a lot of screaming kids with parents that could less. What do you expect from a government run place. Mismanagement and inefficiency. Yet people want the government to control more of our economy. I just dont get it.

2022-03-16In case anyone was wondering, it’s still a s*%# show here. Zero organization and a lack of staff. I get that covid probably decreased their number of employees like everywhere else, but good lord. I’ve never had a good experience at this post office in the 7 years I’ve lived here.

2022-08-12They left a note lying that they tried to deliver a package I know they have had for two weeks. It was small enough to leave in my box. Now they want to charge .95 cents for me to pick it up. Go with better private mail package handling. At least you get real service and someone is accountable.

2021-07-18Innovative postal office: I can’t believe I am saying this about a government office, but they had a Self-service digital booth that I have not seen before (and I go often to the USPS). You can pay with a credit card there and literally not interact with anyone. A total gem! They also had a passport application booth and they take your photo directly there. They use better cameras than CVS and honestly I will come here next time.Ps: be careful bc sometimes they don’t have printing paper for the labels.

2022-03-21This office has to be the model for the new USPS under DeJoy. Make it so awful that people will scream for private industry to take over. I would give this location zero stars if it were possible.Customer service doesnt exist. I asked for them to hold my mail, have confirmed with informed delivery that a package was specifically held per my request, only to be told that I have no mail or packages for over 1 week when I show up to collect them. The woman who operates the Dutch door is incredibly rude. She literally laughed in my face when I asked if she knew when the key for my cluster box would be ready (after she was the one who told me to return in 5 days to get it. This was day 10.) She didnt offer expedited key service because the man in front of me paid $20 to have his key made in a week. It was 2 weeks gone and still no key. They had to refund him. My replacement drivers license is sitting with all my mail somewhere between my mail box and the post office, but no one knows exactly where. Also, be prepared to carve out at LEAST one hour if you need any kind of service involving an employee. Dutch door requests take 15 min to resolve at MINIMUM and if you have 4 or more people in front of you in line...yep.

2022-02-18Absolute worst post office I have been to. My mail box unit was vandalized and mail cannot be delivered to it (which won’t be fixed for a least 6 months.) To receive mail I have to go stand in their Dutch door line which is always at least 3-4 hours long. I have been unable to receive mail for over a month. Great job government run post service! Really wish I had other options. This post office is the epitome of why USPS is a failing venture.

2022-07-15This place is a complete nightmare. 15 people waiting in line for “customer service” or held mail pickup. 0-2 people in line for retail at any given time. I asked the retail employees if they could help with the long line since there was no one helping and the line was growing. They told me their job is retail and they “had retail customers”. I turned around to give the zero people in the retail line a long look. When I turned back around to see what the USPS person was referring to, she said “we do have customers right now”. What?!? Where?? I went back to the customer service line and three minutes later, after no one else showed up for retail, the person slowly meandered over and helped. I get that the USPS is understaffed and struggling as an underfunded government service but this above and beyond ridiculous.

2022-01-20The pick up lines here are long I waiting an hour to get my package, it seems like no one is attending the line because we’re in line at a door with no window! Feels like no one notices your waiting there !

2021-08-09In case you come to this post office, its more confusing than the DMV. Heres where you go: far left line is mailing packages out, Passport services, monetary transactions. The Dutch Door Services line which is slightly left (see door that says Please Ring Bell for Assistance) is for non monetary transactions such as certified mail/package holds, vacation holds etc. Straight ahead is the self service area. PLAN ON WAITING HERE FOREVER WHEN YOU ARRIVE!

2022-05-16This place is the absolute worst! Of all the places I have been in my life, this place is by far the most miserable. They refuse to answer the phone. I have tried calling at all times of the day, sometimes over 30 times in a row, and on different phone numbers. They know the phone is disabled and do not care. This forces you to visit the location in person for any issue no matter how small or easily resolvable.Once you step inside, you will notice a very long line spanning almost all the available space. Many people will see the line and immediately leave, wisely realizing nothing is worth the dreadful experience that awaits them inside. If you dare to join the poor souls waiting in line, you will quickly realize how incredibly slow the line moves. The few workers at this horribly understaffed location clearly realize there is no incentive to work efficiently. Be prepared to watch them spend 15 minutes or more checking a single mailbox. Sometimes, they will even abandon the service window for extended periods of time on a whim.If you are tenacious enough to spend hours of your life waiting through the line, you will eventually have the misfortune of interacting with one of the workers directly. Its hard to say whether their smug sarcasm, unwarranted condescension, or overall incompetence will make the strongest impression. Rest assured though that they will be completely unwilling to help, and completely unprepared to do so even if they wanted to. It seems their only strategy is to frustrate you into giving up.This location is beyond irredeemable. The only small improvement that seems feasible at this point is engraving Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here over the doorway so future victims know what to expect. It is my opinion that nothing, no matter how valuable, no matter how important, is worth slowly but surely sacrificing your soul as you wither away in this cursed post office.

2022-04-20Been in line 45 minutes.....to pick up a package. Yep. Still in line as I write this review. Like some post-modern dystopian sadism, the workers open the Dutch door window for 1 person at a time, look at the line of people who have been waiting centuries for the smallest thing, and then close it in our faces without explanation. Everyone is impatient. No one in their lives has time for this. Everyone is furious. The postal office workers take pleasure in this cruelty. How much longer? we scream internally, collectively, as we die inside.
