Great selection of clothing, personal and home UT products. Some selection of Texas (state) related products. Great selection of university school related supplies and books. Over the years, management and staff has been friendly, courteous, and helpful with answering questions and checking on products. Garage parking available with 1 hour free with validation.
THE most expensive place to shop for school supplies and UT apparel. MASSIVELY INFLATED prices, like were talking $60 for a simple burnt orange HOODIE with the long horns logo on it. Plus if your professor ever assigns a project that needs a specific thing from the co-op, chances are its sold out because they dont keep a storage with extra supplies. Find better prices and textbook pdfs online. If horrible deals and being in debt appeals to you, welcome to the University Co-op. ☠Also, after looking through the reviews, its SO FUNNY that they have a copy paste for anytime someone says something about the store being too expensive 😂
I’ve been wanting to spend my bevo bucks on some university merch, but the bevo machine conveniently is broken right as the semester is about to end and students want to spend their bevo bucks!!! I’ve called so many times over this past week and they still don’t have an estimated time for fixing, it seems like they’re not even trying to get anyone! It’s ridiculous!!!!! I’ll be very angry if this problem isn’t solved by the end of the semester.
The store has a great selection of UT and Texas related gear including a wide variety of tee shirts, mugs, and stickers. They also have an art section on the third floor which is one of the few stores near the university that sells embroidery floss. The staff are friendly and the building clean.
I had a recent customer service experience with UT Co-op that was outstanding. I ordered a hat that was sized in only two size options. Ordered what I thought would be my size, and when it arrived and I tried it on I discovered it wasnt. Turns out I shouldve ordered the other. I reached out to them, they sent me a shipping label, and said once they receive my return hat, theyd mail me the proper size. Dani was the customer service rep, and she was courteous and professional. She even looked up the specific hat to ensure that they had my proper size so that I wouldnt experience any delays. She promptly emailed me the shipping label, and all told, I had my new hat within one week. A classy, friendly company representative got it done, true to her word. Thanks to Danis demeanor, Ill definitely order again from UT Co-op.
Great quality materials, probably a little more expensive than Micheals but super convenient for someone without a car. Robin was amazingly helpful with paint selection, helping me keep the cost down with coupons, and everything. Definitely will return for more paint later ☺️
When we went in it was a cold blast of air. It felt so good, selection was great and theres stuff for the whole family. We found all kinds of gear...coolers, shirts and fun stuff. A must see for the Longhorn fan or any relative. Employees were helpful and appeared happy to be working there.
Sadly, I feel my love of UT Co-op has come to an end. For decades, I have relied on the Co-op for common UT swag and apparel; however, a recent visit was met with the loss of the vast sale/clearance racks upstairs and severely OVER-INFLATED pricing on apparel. All I wanted was a dark-colored UT polo, but I wasn’t expecting to pay $70 to $120! I could have spent more time combing the cramped floor space, but I didn’t want to donate even more money for parking.Asking store personnel how to validate the 1-hour parking option was met with confusion and direction to “go ask a cashier.” After a long wait and being ignored by several cashiers, we were told “validation is ONLY an option if you buy something—it’s on the receipt.”Seems like the ‘ole bait and switch is alive and well at UT Co-op. Caveat emptor!
Anything you could possibly need that has a longhorn on it, you will find in this store! Their selection of apparel, home goods, and anything you can think of that can be branded with burnt orange is always fully stocked and ready for your visit. They also do a lot of really fun events where you can meet UT alumni or get special sales/discounts.
Facilities and employees: nice and neat. helpfulPrice: depends on what you are buying but they are not so cheapI would go on amazon first for the textbook unless professor ask to get co-op edition or you dont have any options. For UT product, I think this is to go place for that.
Crazy place, they have everything UT. If you want your burnt orange gear, this is the place to go. They also have some cool Austin stuff if u are visiting and want to bring home a cup or mug that has some Texas on it. The pricing was depending on what you are looking for, it is a campus bookstore..
Prices are a bit ridiculous but I suppose thats what we all expect from UT but the staff are friendly and the store is well organized. Ive gotten great UT pieces from here and if they ever decide to put a bunch of their merch on sale Id for sure interested in buying more.
Its expensive. However, Im still a sucker for buying merchandise there just because its so convenient to campus. One thing I hate is how expensive textbooks are! I highly suggest ordering your books from Amazon or some other cheaper place. I will give them props for doing the 10% rebate program because it definitely adds up throughout the year. Plus, their social media team is great and they are always doing some type of contest online.
I go to a UT game in Austin every year and the Coop is a tradition for the game day experience. You cant beat the atmosphere! Its like Longhorn heaven and I can spend hours looking through everything burnt orange. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Ordering online is easy and shipping is fast. Ive even called in asking about a product I had seen in-store but couldnt find online and they searched the store for it and shipped it to me! The only downside to the Coop is that theyre pricey - Im not poor but I personally cant afford most of their products. Overall, its a great store!
I ordered two used textbooks online, waited over a week for my email that they are available for me to pick up in store. I never received this email and so I went to check myself to find out that there are no more of the books I ordered in store and they will not be ordering more. They never saved any of the ordered books for me (which is the point of ordering online in advance). I never got an email telling me about this problem, so I ended up having to pay full price for brand new textbooks in store. This was my first time ordering from the coop and needless to say I will not be ordering again. I am extremely unhappy with my experience.
Good place. Lots of UT stuff and sell books too. Everything is on the pricey side so I suggest checking if books are sold somewhere else. If not, the Co-op definitely sells it. At the beginning of the semester its pretty busy, and the checkout system is subpar. You can spend Bevo Bucks here which is cool if you need to buy Christmas gifts last minute.
Great selection of books, supplies, UT and Austin themed merchandise. Im curious as to why they dont have hats for UT Mom but they have ones for dad, grandpa, grandma, aunt, uncle, etc. This place is busy the first few weeks but its started to die off and be a bit less hectic.
I ordered a diploma frame that got delivered to my house with the glass shattered. I called the number for web orders 7 times in the last week and left voice mails and sent 4 emails to the email address to initiate an exchange and I have still not heard back from anyone. They have a strict 30 day return policy. This is a $260 item. Why is the customer service so terrible and what do I have to do to speak to someone?
If you need University of Texas Longhorn clothes, decorations or just about anything, this is the place to go. The store is massive and has everything from keychains to more formal clothing to baby and kids clothes. Their items can be a little more expensive than some of the more popular department stores, but youre not going to find a larger variety.
Graduation is a stressful time for everyone. It happens every year, and yet the Co-op did not seem to know what was going on. I wanted to purchase robes, and was told that it was past the deadline to purchase robes. Their deadline said 4-6 weeks, and I was there at six and a half weeks. A fellow student went in the next week and purchased their robes. I was told at the time of rental I would have the chance to purchase the rental. When I returned the rental I was told that purchasing the rental was not an option. I have since tried contacting the Co-op to try and learn how I might purchase a robe (after having to rent it for graduation when I *could* have purchased it.) I have not had any response to my communication. As expected, the goods are overpriced. Some of the staff know what theyre doing, some are clueless. If you want to have any kind of response from the management. Go elsewhere.
Love the Co-Op, this is the UT mecca for whatever you are looking for. There is always something to buy and there is always so much to choose from. Parking garage behind it is great to get in and out, if you purchase they will validate as well so bring your ticket with you. There is a great photo spot with Bevo in the back, during graduation hell get dressed up too. There is a new Welcome to Austin sign that is very well painted and the color is much better than the original sign. There are a few food trucks in the back that I have yet to get to try. The people at the Co-Op are helpful and friendly. There is a sale/outlet section on the 3rd floor. There are some things that you can find elsewhere for cheaper bur for the most part this is where you can get anything and everything UT.
My son wanted a stuffed animal bat, since we just saw them the night prior on the Congress street bridge. Google told me to check out the co-op, so we did. Great store. It s HUGE! They have 3 levels. Bottom level has mens and home dec, 2nd has womens, and 3rd has baby and kids. Busy, but staff was very friendly. I think any UT merchandise yoy can dream of is in this store, even those giant foam fingers!
A place where you can find anything with a UT Longhorn on it? The University Co-op has it. It is a fantastic place to get your gear or gift for any occasion. The employees were very friendly and helpful. It is the place to go to after a tour of the University of Texas or before a football game. If you are starving after shopping, the Co-op Food Court is located behind the Co-Op with several food trailers--highly recommend to check it out.
The primary place to go for UT Austin clothing and souvenirs. Conveniently located across the street from campus on The Drag, a historic area to visit, with interesting shops, coffee, and restaurants. Easily accessible by Austin B-cycle, with a nearby station adjacent to the separated bike lane. Keep Austin weird!
If you ever need to get something that is UT-branded, this is the place to come. The University Co-op has literally everything available in burnt orange and plastered with the Texas Longhorns logo. Luggage? Check. Bathroom decor? Check. Cowboy boots? You betcha. The Co-op allows for easy present shopping as a UT student since you can always get something different each year for your parents Christmas presents.
I have lived in Austin almost 5yrs and in that time I had never really explored the Drag or Campus. I came upon the CoOp after a friend was showing us around and said this was a place to see in and of itself (the amount of Longhorn gear in here is mind-blowing...you think you know, but you dont). We explored almost everywhere and I was in awe of all the memorabilia, the kitsch, and UT paraphernalia along with any and every item of clothing imaginable with a longhorn. It really is a sight to behold!I did like that they do carry other things as well, such as music & tech stuff, student bric-a-brac, and non-longhorn adorned tshirts. There is this cool little tshirt corner that has some neat ATX specific tshirts (nice quality cotton) one of which I ended up buying because it has the Hi How Are You? Alien (which is one of my fav ATX icons). I was surprised that it was very reasonably priced ($16.99) for being a college store. They also have an outlet center w/furniture on the 2nd flr and what looked to be a box office on the first flr as you walk out the back towards the food trailer park.Definitely worth a look around if you are ever wandering the Drag, if you want a good on-campus tshirt find, or want ANYTHING with a longhorn on it!Fun Find: There are mystery stairs (only because I didnt explore where they went) that have a really cool campus tower mural!
Everything is overpriced. Just because something is an official UT product doesnt mean you should double the price. I recommend buying anything you want there from Amazon or other places online. The textbooks are especially overpriced. I only go there to buy something I need urgently for school like the overpriced $40 iclicker and overpriced lab course manuels the greedy professors wrote. Everything else like bumper stickers and clothing you can usually find for cheaper online.
Oh dear co-op, how I love to hate thee. After buying all your Longhorn memorabilia, and fighting the hordes during textbook season where you are the only local place to buy books, I swear you off for cheaper online booksellers until another semester rolls around and Im in your store again.
Ordered some UT gear for the Texas v OU game and was worried that it wouldnt make it to me in Denver, CO before game day.Not only did the gear make it, but they refunded me my overnight shipping because UPS said it wasnt going to be delivered until Monday.Hats off to the CO-OP for outstanding customer servive.
It seems that the Co-op used to have more items and at more reasonable prices. They used to have a wall to all kinds of t-shirts. Now, they have less and it seems like they are all expensive brands like Under Armour or Nike. Yikes. This is the Co-op. Its supposed to cater to students.
Great place to shop souvenir from Texas and Austin, the customer service is excellent I got many pieces of advice from the personnel, very kind, professional, proper area, friendly personnel, you find articles for all members of your family and for you girl men or kids, grandpa grandmom...the price is a little bit expensive but it’s worth, don’t hesitate the quality is there, good shop experience in Austin, i recommande it 🤟🏼😍👍🇺🇸
They have some of the worst rental books policies. I dropped the class in the 2nd week and had already rented the book for one whole semester but they didnt give me any refund when I wanted to return it the very next week. Worst bookstore in whole Austin. Rent from online places or any other places. They are the WORST!!!
The only place to purchase your textbooks and longhorn merchandise at the university of texas at austin. if you are a student, professor, or staff member then be sure to turn in your receipts for the 10% credit at the end of the year. the deadline is every june 30th.
For ut gear, there is no other place that beats the co-op on guadalupe. from clothing and accessories to business supplies and souvenirs, the co-op has everything. pretty much anything you can think of, the co-op has a burnt orange version or longhorn-studded version.

2022-07-23I worked here for a brief period. I thought the pay was very low. 9$ per hour, luckily they paid me 10$ at the end, I think they realize how exploited I was and they were nice to give me an extra dollar per hour.I noticed there are virtually no seats in the store, I believe this is no accident. If you have to work a 6 or 8 hour shift, you stand for the entire shift minus the 15 or 30 minute break u get. And I recommend u sit as much as possible, standing for that long gets hard. (I’m in great shape btw, work out 3 times per week and slim)Your coworkers are “not your friends” according to the manager. If you try and work while having a conversation, you will be separated. Understandable if you are trying to run a business, but a bit harsh for the work culture. Anyways, apparently they are a “non profit” but that’s not really true, they might give back to the students but really, the companies that sell here probably make a killing, (judging from the price of items sold).Having worked here, I would not work here again. Very cold work environment, although I assume all/most retail jobs are similar. I would give 3 stars, but I’ll give it 1.

2022-03-23I was there just two days ago. I showed up in person because my masters gown came in the mail defective. The super nice young lady at the register accepted the return and asked me to go pick up the replacement gown from upstairs. It was my second time in the store, so naturally I was looking around when a white older lady with short hair was looking at me the whole time, calling on the radio asking about me and acting weird around me, I was extremely uncomfortable. I grabbed a gown, and I was just trying to get out of there. I went to the second floor to look for some shirts for my teen daughters but apparently the lady had radio in the store so I guess other employees were suspicious of me.. an extremely conformable situation. I head downstairs to pay and finally found the shirts that I wanted to buy, at the desk another employee, some tall guy at the desk started shaming me over the size of gown that I had pick.. the most ridiculous thing it have ever happened to me .. it took a couple of min until he has done with the BS .. I really hope these people get some cultural bias training soon.

2020-02-28Huge store carrying tons of University of Texas merchandise and fan gear. Great place to shop for these items whether man, women, or child. Kids fear is on third floor if having trouble finding it.

2021-11-16I was very pleased that there was parking when visiting the University coop and that you can get 1 hour free parking with validation. The University coop store is across the street so it only a short walk. The people working there were so helpful in getting my online order. Also very courteous and friendly Thanks again!

2021-06-23We popped in slightly before they were closing to grab some Longhorn apparel as we were traveling from out of state. The staff is absolutely great in many ways - were able to help us find different shirts we saw on mannequins, suggested some local eateries as well. What a wonderful and welcoming feel especially from Kellie the manager and cashier Ben!
