Bought our tickets back in MarchWe fell soo in love with the main part of the exhibit. We arrived at 3pm and thank goodness it wasnt crowded. The main exhibit show is very very mellow and the virtual reality is truly capturingThis experience was amazing and worth every penny and
Love Van Gogh Immersive experience exhibition. Explosions of art colors in digital experience from a color blind artist! I feel I knew about him more now, prior to the exhibition I only knew starry night! Disappointment on the exhibition execution like people can come in and out in the middle of performance and hoping more exhibit rooms but that’s nothing to do with the artist and beautiful art which has amazed people all over the world over decades! The marketing campaign gave you false imagination of there’s a lot more than what they had delivered. When you entered you will be welcomed by painting on the left and right passage, after that there’s a hall room where they project dramatic and cinematic moving paintings, and that’s it! No more exhibition rooms. As soon as you out from that hall, you guided to a souvenirs place. We are so confused that the exhibition not lasting us than 30 minutes and we drove 85 miles to get there!
I have to say, this exhibit was amazing!!! Took my friend for her birthday, and we both loved it. The projections and transitions of art were incredible! The photo ops of the bedroom and Vestible were awesome. Plus the room where you can relax and just sit in awe of the different artwork and music. And the VR experience was fun! I highly recommend this place! Just sad we didnt get the promotional poster after purchasing the VIP experience.
Loved this experience! It was a great Sunday morning adventure for my mother and I! We enjoyed most everything and especially enjoyed the whole room video! The experience is really awesome and we loved how they had the vase and face statue with pictures rolling over them it was super neat.
This is one of the best exhibitions I ever seen in 2021. The last place is the most amazing part, when I walked in, my breathe stopped for a second, the starry night is right in front of you, projecting to the whole room, like I was walk into Harry Potter’s world. You can relax and lie down to enjoy the show. Don’t forget to paint before you walk out, there are seats and crayons for you to create anything you want.
I’m not a big art enthusiast but this was amazing. A little pricey but we’ll worth it! I’d go again. I knew who Van Gough was but I learned so much about him here…It was definitely an Experience. The place was layed out great, lots of room & space. This literally goes thru his Imentire life with real moving sculptures and paintings. How they digitized them is crazy cool . Several photo oops, a place to stop and color a picture and display on big screen. The BIG room at the end is the coolest, you can sit on benches, chairs or beanbags all socially distant, relax and watch his paintings come to life right before your eyes! I strongly recommend the $5 VR experience at the end. It’s amazing ride thru his view of the areas he painted. The gift shop is great, something for everyone, very reasonable prices. Shirts, Jewelry, posters, cups, cards, magnets, guitar pics, flip flops are just a few of the items .
I took my best friend for her birthday on the VIP tour. We loved it so much. 10/10 would do this again!!!! It’s a great thing to do with friends, date night and family experience. I wouldn’t really recommend for very small children but 10 and up should like it if the love art. Definitely do the virtual reality. It was fantastic!!!
Really enjoyed this exhibit. The 360 immersion room was really fun to experience and we watched the whole thing which was about 30 minutes long. They had a fun coloring activity at the end that is fun for both kids and adults to participate. Definitely recommend this place
Loved this experience! It was so very enjoyable and interestingly informative. The music was perfect. My only suggestion is to not sit in the seats closest to the information desk for the VR experience, because conversations between guests and workers are distracting while perusing the serene countryside!
Loved touring this exhibit. Bought tickets the day it went on sale which I swear was like 8 months ago! Only negative is that there is another Van Gogh exhibit in town at the exact same time and we accidentally went to that one first.Walking through you learn all about Van Gogh’ slide, how many pieces he painted, how he passed and how much his paintings sell for nowadays. There were some cool 3D projections and all the info was spread out enough to where you felt completely comfortable walking through.Once you entered the projection room, you grabbed a seat to watch the show. We stayed in there for probably 20-30 mins or so. It was incredible! All the different projections, creating his works on art in a moving way, literally! Definitely a must see if you’re a Van Gogh fan!
Great service, great exhibition, offfers history on Gogh, shows many pieces by him, coloring for kids or anyone, room with projected video on all walls and on floors about van Gogh and very trippy maybe good with drugs if thats your thing, offers VR experience on him and his art going back in time for 5 dollars was definitely worth it; offers picture at the end for 10 bucks, 3 background options, take as many as you want only pay for the 1 u want, printed nice and put in paper frame with starry night graphics
Superb exhibition. No need to know much of anything about Van Gogh; this is very friendly to all except perhaps really high end art afficionados who may not appreciate it. We went on a quiet day which was even better. The exhibits are well thought through with plenty of variety, suggested photo opps, hands on options, and innovative ways to experience Van Goghs work. It was worth paying extra for the VIP portion as the VR experience was crazy good. The staff were also extremely pleasant and knowledgeable.
The experience was nice! It’s not worth $45 dollar ticket price imo. Should be priced $25-$30. In the gift shop, the images that are printed on keychains etc are low quality and has the logos over everything. The VR section is an additional $5. I liked that we could draw/color images and hang them on the wall after.
We absolutely loved this Immersive Experience along I-10/Silber. I dont want to give too much away, but the way they incorporated various art forms, sculpture, painting, 3-D displays, virtual reality, etc. really made you feel like you were there with Van Gogh. Our favorite was the VR aspect, and I highly recommend it if you can do it. It makes you see things as he did and appreciate the majesty of it all.
This experience was so amazing that words alone cannot paint a full picture. From the the first room to the last each has a unique visual that will have your mind thinking and relaxing and unsure what to do next. The VIP is worth the price. The VR at the end is about 12 minutes and takes you on a stroll through Van Goghs life starting in his room. Make sure to look behind you and all around because there are few hidden treats. If you find the cat let me know I could not find it despite hearing its meows.
I went to both Van Gogh experiences and this exhibit was, by far, the better experience. I enjoyed every aspect of it from the museum section to the VR. The people were friendlier, the presentation was dynamic and the subject fascinating. If you choose only event to attend, I recommend this one. You will not regret it. Oh! And pay the extra money for the VR element, it made me very happy and was loads of fun.
This whole exhibit was incredible. They build up from classic gallery style, to paintings brought to life that you can enter, to the awesome fully immersive trip through the artists life and works, complete with moving art, sound effects, and quotes from the artist. Well worth it. And dont pass on the VR, especially if youve never done it before. They even have a station for you to make your own Van Gogh art, and a shop to get some great souvenirs and gifts.
What are the most amazing immersive experience as I’ve gone to! It’s an absolute must see and not to miss! You can either sit stand or sit on a pillow & and watch as the film surround you in a 360° format while you watch van Goghs art experiences flow through visual wall displays!
1. Great parking2. Easy access on/off freeway3. Event: only one word needed. FABULOUS4. Well organized. Helpful/friendly staff, nice gift shop5: Immersive Experience: OMG... Better than words can describe. You must go. And you must do the VIP** part.6. The VR 3D (VIP**) option was absolutely wonderful. It was like being in Arles seeing what Van Gogh saw.7. I am ready for the Next Great Artist Immersive Experience.8. Photos are unedited.
We had a great time at the Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience. We drove from Austin and arrived early and were let in ahead of our scheduled time. The layout provided easy flow through the exhibit. There were ample facts about Van Goghs life and works. I could have sat in the big room all day!
Interesting for the whole family. Great venue. Easy to park and restaurants close by. Yes, the large immersive room is chilly. To watch the whole video loop, you will be in there about 45 minutes and I wanted to stay for the whole thing. The chill catches up with you in that length of time.
I’ll be honest I had a lot more expectations for this exhibit. The virtual room experience was wonderful for the money I wish it would been longer. Once that’s done that’s it. Go to the souvenir shop, take a picture by the sunflower wall. I would suggest paying for the VIP experience as some seemed to enjoy that part. For $200 for the basic admission I was expecting more. This room os basically the whole exhibition. More about the artist at the beginning or at the end, weather in video format or just more at the entrance but no it was lacking a lot more biographical facts and more display of the work outside of this. My kids enjoy museums and learning about art, history and they really appreciated the 5 panels or so of facts that were posted but other than that, that’s all you get for the basic admission price. My children didn’t enjoy the experience so maybe keep the kids at home they were looking forward to more facts and learning more about Van Gogh but you won’t get that here.
It was a very cool and different way to experience art. Super informative and creative. The first part was full of information, which I suggest you read in its entirety. That will help you appreciate and truly immerse yourself to the master pieces of this great artist when you get to that part of the experience. If you buy VIP tickets, once of the benefits is you get the virtual reality experience included, otherwise you will have to pay $5 to enjoy it, which by the way it is completely worth it!The space overall could feel a little chilly at times.Masks are required, so keep that in mind. The whole tour takes approx. 1.5-2 hrs. to complete. You will not regret it! It was marvelous!
Overall a good experience. I think if you do the vip tickets, you get to do and enjoy the 3D experience. If you are into art, you will appreciate the exhibition experience a little more. This was a little better than an exhibition I attended in France for Salvador Dali.
Everyone should go see THIS experience not the other one not to far from this location. Everything about the whole production was first class. Love that it is interactive at the coloring station. The VRE is definitely a cool addition to end the exhibit. Maybe they could do other painters too ❤
Fantastic event and so glad I took my daughter - to get a little cultural and art experience. It was well done, a tad crowded at times in front of a given painting but people typically stood back far enough for everyone to see, or squeeze in for a closer reading of the description. The Immersion Room was WOW - stunning and the music that went with it was perfect - a very relaxing time. I really liked the 3D virtual experience. Very cool. A must do for ages 10 up. Below that they might want to hurry through. The location, parking and proximity to restaurants was perfect.
I took my family of 5 which includes 3 kids under age 12 and we had a really good time. It’s not a play area and it’s not described as such. If you are looking for a highly entertaining place for energetic kids than this is not it. What it is is a beautiful experience of a brilliant painters mind and work. If you are an artist or creative person, you will very much appreciate this display. Even my husband who Is the furthest from being interested in art and philosophy found somethings that he really enjoyed along the way. There are some interesting areas for the kids and I do highly recommend the 3D experience, that was really neat. Overall, I’m really happy we went, I have an even greater appreciation and understanding for Van Gogh’s work and the rest of my family enjoyed themselves too!
I bought the tickets in March and have been looking forward to this experience ever since. It did NOT disappoint. The quality and scope of the exhibits were excellent. We spent 90 minutes going through all of the rooms including the VR experience and would have taken longer, if they were not closing for the night. I recommend the standard passes plus the $5 VR add on. Wonderful!
W head a large group ranging in age from 42-87 and everyone enjoyed themselves. We all got the VIP experience & felt it was worth the difference in a regular ticket. Loved the 3D & changing scenery. The Immersive Experience of the Gallery wonderful! We also had a lot of our group enjoy the ‘painting/coloring’ aspect of the experience & seeing it go up on screen. This is a great way to learn more about a specific artists & to see so much of their work in a new & exciting way.
My 94 year old dad was visiting from Ohio, we went together and it was spectacular. Unfortunately, there was another venue in Houston similar but not as nice as this one. I accidentally purchased a third ticket, not knowing it was a completely different venue. It was not fun to have 1/3 of us at a completely different site at the same time. I highly recommend this venue over the other one.
Ok me and my gf went here last minute my mom didn’t use the tickets and I thought it was kinda gonna be dumb yk but let me tell you I got the vip tickets and they give you free stuff at the end but this was the coolest thing I have ever been to 10/10 would recommend I’m going to try to go to a lot more of van goghs are exhibits and museums art is just beautiful it made me feel something I never felt before I left calmness and it made me smile it was great I wish everyone can go here
We had a good time.. Took our 2 daughters, age 7 and 11. They enjoyed it, too. We were there about 1 hr and 15 min. Am glad we did VR goggles, but wish the staff would have made sure they were working ok, fit ok, etc. Really enjoyed the art/coloring sheet portion...you could scan your sheet and it would show up on the wall...instant masterpiece :)
Took my bestfriend for her birthday yesterday and it was such a cool experience. From the paintings, learning about his life, light shows merging into his paintings and seeing what inspired him was definitely interesting. The VR experience which is a 5 dollar add on is beyond worth it in my opinion, you leave more knowledgeable and you’ll forget about the time because you’ll be so caught up in the beauty of the show. 10/10 would recommend
Had 2 walk back to the car twice to put up my pistol and again for my girls drink. Shaved 8 minutes off the ridiculously short 30 min show. Took us 1.5 hours drive time to and fro for a 22 minute show that cost $100 in tickets. Price should be for the day (like a museum) not per 30 min. Show. We were immediately ushered out afterwards. Good visuals a/c and sound system but sitting on the floor??? Really? No padded chairs either but since its so short no point in getting comfortable.... a fancy lunch would of been enjoyed more. Houston museum fine art is free on Thursdays!
Its a bit expensive but me and my boyfriend had a good time. There are two gallery rooms and a presentation room where every wall is covered in a continuous projection. You can sit in a chair or lay on the floor to view this. There is a coloring room for kids and a vr room thats costs extra. The gift shop prices are astronomical. Like.... RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Anyways... Pretty good time regardless.
I really enjoyed the incredible Van Gogh Immersive Experience. I was able to learn so many fascinating things about Van Gogh and his rich life as an artist and also the reason why he painted with such vivid contrasting colors, his famous style. You have to go yourself to find out how he saw the world. There were many examples of his fabulous artworks and well documented details about his life including why he was so tormented. But the climax was the immersion room the likes of which I have never seen or heard before to be inside his art. I just laid on a rug and pillow and looked and listened completely comfortable and engaged with the experience. I look forward to experiencing other artists in this unique and dynamic fashion.
This is the best immersive experience! Highly recommended for the amazing experience. The recreated Bedroom at Arles and the big room with the 360 effect are the best part. By far, much better than seeing the paintings at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Go before it closes!
If you like Van Gogh, you will LOVE the experience! They have several different ways in which to enjoy works by Van Gogh, non of them are actual pieces of his art. This is a totally new way to enjoy and FEEL what it was like when Van Gogh was at his most creative! Perfect date!
Audio visual portion was interesting. The exhibition is more like state park informative display. No original art work many duplicates of his paintings are shown in different areas. They information on Van Gogh was interesting and I learned several things about Van Goghs and premature death. If you go by a car service make sure which Van Gogh exhibit you are going to there are two in Houston.
We attended this Van Gogh experience months ago. Unfortunately, we confused it with the other Immersive Van Gogh experience here in Houston. So when we heard about the immersive Freida Kahlo experience we thought it was curated by this company. Its not. ThisbVan Gogh Experience is light-years ahead of the other one. So much so that we are now looking to see what other experiences they offer.
Like taking a 2 hour whirlpool bath for your brain. Audio and Visual senses fully explored. Uncrowded and comfortable venue. Do the VIP experience. Bring light sweater. Take (no-flash) photos and short movies with phone. This 5 Star Rating is for the show, not the management and staff - their minds we focused on what they were going to do later that night.
Wayyy too much money for this. You sit in one room and watch pictures go by. The effects are neat, but only worth 10 dollars, 20 at most for this experience. 50-60 dollars is way over priced. This is not worth the short 35 minutes. I would have much rather experienced art in a museum for this price. Wish there was more too it. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone for this price.
We weren’t sure what to expect. The event was informative/ educational, added some perspectives on pieces I wasn’t as familiar with, and lives up fully to the immersive description. Be ready to spend time in the big room worth seeing it all the way through!!!P.s. it maintained the interest of our 10 year old for the 1.5-2 hrs we were there.
Great exhibit! Would be a 5, but they require vaccine card or proof, and only updated that on the app (no notification sent from the app either) with no other real notifications or communication that grab your attention—-and they gave very little notice. Luckily all of us had our cards or were able to obtain our proof, but it was a major PIA and a text or app notification would have been nice instead of a sly and subtle update to the verbiage in the app that wasn’t sent as a notification to Fever users. Poor communication and form. And the staff out front were kind of assholes—though clever enough to help my husband realize he could call the pharmacy and have the pharmacist verify vaccinations for him, which was appreciated. And dealing with the public all day, and dealing with frustrated guests over this, I totally get why they’d be a little curt, abrupt, and even loud at times with people. Otherwise, the staff was nice,Especially at the snack and drink bar. Drinks were clever and delicious, and the experience itself was amazing!!
It was so much fun. I was worried about the younger kids which are 5 and 4 but they enjoyed it too definitely worth it. Even my four-year-old daughter was able to do the virtual reality walk at the end. I was worried it wouldnt fit her big head but she got to enjoy everything which therefore I did too 😉😁 I found it was a great way to get kids interested
It was amazing. Will likely go back as we had to leave to attend a family event. My only disappointment was the lack of iris paintings in the large room. But it wasnt enough to make me not recommend to everyone. The music is fabulous. The information is fabulous. The experience is fabulous. Pay for the VIP experience to get the virtual reality experience, too. Its worth it.
This was one of the coolest experiences we have had as a family. My teens loved it. It was nice to stroll through and read the information about Van Gogh. We loved the interactive art. Then going into the large room to see the show all around you was a very neat thing. We also colored in the coloring room and hung our art up on the wall. We did the VR event at the end as well which was really cool. Overall just a super cool day and we learned a lot. There are great places to eat next door and even a candy ice cream shop next door for a treat.
I don’t know much about art. I find most of it boring. I’m a science person,so… which was one of the main reasons I wanted to go to this exhibit & experience art in a different way. It was a much more energetic & fulfilling experience seeing art like this. You had sounds & light movement. Not to mention the VR experience. Totally awesome & worth going.
I did not know what to expect at all. The secrecy about the location and limited information left me not knowing what to anticipate. It was outstanding! The music paired with the art was perfect. The bright colors and fluid presentation was mesmerizing. I had minimal knowledge about Van Gogh prior to this and am wanting to learn more. What a talent presented I such a creative exciting way. Loved being a VIP!
The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming as soon as you entered which was a great way to start the visit. The exhibit showcased one of my favorite artists and presented information about his life and work. Many of his most famous works were included and did not disappoint. The immersive experience was wonderful. The multiple projectors created and filled a large space with his works and ran on a continuous loop. Best of all you could sit and watch as long as you wanted. No one was moving the crowd along. Many families with children were there and moved along after viewing for a short time and others stayed much longer. There was plenty of room and absolutely no rush. Two opportunities to continue the experience were included at the end: a virtual reality addition and then an art workroom to try and create a masterpiece of your own! Great fun for all ages!
So, I should say first. I had very little knowledge of Van Gogh aside from knowing he was an old artist whos painting sell for millions to this day. Im not an art enthusiast. I didnt even know how recent of an artist he was. I honestly thought he was a 15th-16th century artist. I also never really understood why people were so deep into certain artists and their works. I think I kind of get it now. That being said I ate 3.75gs of psilocybin mushrooms an hour before arriving, saying a pray to my Heavenly Father the creator, Jesus, Mama (Maria) Sabina, and the Mushies, as I do before any trip. Asking them for guidance, insight, wisdom, understanding and safe passage during this trip. I feel all of the above were given to me during this experience. *I DO NOT RECOMMEND JUST ANYONE EATING MUSHROOMS BEFORE ATTENDING THIS VENUE OR ANY OTHER. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED WITH MUSHROOMS AND CAN HANDLE YOURSELF AND ARENT GOING TO GO IN AND FRUIT OUT & ANNOY PEOPLE THEN BY ALL MEANS IMO.*I felt like I went in somewhat disrespectful, but checked myself quickly. I walked in to the first room which has some very cool holographic images of Goghs head and face and other cool pieces to see. There is information and facts that you can read about him. I glanced at something about his schizophrenia and mental illness and thought damn he was a schizo? I was looking at some of his paintings saying meh whats the hoopla about. I wish I had taken the time to read all the information about him. Im actually consider going again just to absorb it all and see some things Im sure I missed. Although, you can acquire all the facts and information about Van Gogh online as I did when I got home this evening.Eventually youll make your way to another round of exhibits of his paintings on digital screens. Again we kind of rushed through this but the paintings on the digital screens look great. Also throughout the exhibit you will hear Van Goghs voice, not his real voice obviously, saying certain quotes of his. These are what began to intrigue me to want to understand him on deeper level. The quotes are also posted all throughout the venue.Making our way to the Hall of Gogh as I call it. I enter to see Gogh in one of his self-portraits, the seriousness in his eyes piercing through me. I realized my disrespectful and unappreciative attitude and apologized for it. I believe from there, I was allowed to gain the insight and understanding I obtained. The room to me was almost like a sanctuary. You can tell the exhibit and production was made from genuine love, admiration, and appreciation for Van Gogh. I wish the presentation was longer than the roughly 30 min or so it took to loop back around. I feel it couldve been extended 15-30 min more, but it was all very enjoyable for me. I also enjoyed the music. Im into music production so I may have enjoyed it more than others may. The presentation allowed me to relax and really think deep about Van Gogh as an artist, as a person, and as a fellow human being. We watched it 1 & 1/2 times. I wouldve watched it 3x times, but the Mrs. (who wasnt on mushrooms) wanted to go, and so we went.Exiting the Hall of Gogh youll enter into one last part of different self portraits of Van Gogh in a narrow hallway just before the VR experience(I didnt do it, the Mrs. said it was cool) and the gift shop. I had to pause and take time to give thanks to him for what he had given me today. A newfound appreciation for art, that it goes deeper than the artwork itself. Its the artists love, pain and defects. It is the human condition, displayed in all of their works. Art is life, life is art, I understand that more clearly now. As was walked past the last self-portrait I paused and reflected. I couldnt help but say thank you old friend...Thank you to the creative minds behind this experience I think youve done Van Gogh proud and if your goal was to inspire people to get into art or at least have a newfound appreciation for it and Van Gogh, congratulations you have succeeded! All the best to everyone! God Bless!
The virtual reality was AMAZING (extra $5 and SO worth it), the lights on the vase were fantastic, and the light show after learning in the first part (with the music and everything) was an amazing way to cement all the new things we learned and simultaneously unwind. 10/10 would recommend, we LOVED it (three adults)
I took my 17 yr old and 12 year old daughters who loved the experience. We went the dad after my fathers funeral for some peace and calm after the storm of activities. It was interesting and my girls have been in love with Starry Nights for a long time; they enjoyed learning about the artist.
$150 for 3 people could have been far better spent in Houston. The prints they displayed were washed out and far from the vibrant colors Van Gogh was known for. It’s almost like I was wearing de-saturation glasses. The large room at the end was the only saving grace. I could have napped in that place for hours. The only applause goes for the racket this place is pulling.
This was incredible! The entire experience lasted about an hour for my family and I, but I definitely couldve stayed longer. My favorite part is this huge room that has a continuous 360 show (?) that is Van Goughs art ,but almost alive looking. We opted to do the VR room towards the end, which was interesting as well. Be forewarned - I took my 8 and 10 yr old along, and while their behavior was good, the whole thing got old for them real quick. The interactive aspect of it helped me to keep them interested.
What a wonderful experience! All the works of art displays, along with the spots set up for selfies were great. The 3D paintings and videos surrounding you makes you feel like part of the art work. All the information offered throughout the exhibit was very insightful. We went as a family, and we all enjoyed it. Highly recommend it!
I bought tickets 6 months prior to the show because I was so excited about the show coming to Houston. It was a birthday outing for me so I brought along my hubby, brother and mom! We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the show! From the history about Van Gogh, what inspired his art to getting to see his art... what an experience! Loved every moment!
Great exhibit. Like no other art exhibition Ive ever experienced. Lots of parking but signage to the entrance could be more obvious. Did not enforce masking request but thats life in a State that only values the sanctity of life if it is still in the womb: once out youre on your own. Very helpful staff.
I love the show so much! Especially the virtual realty. At the beginning when I used the virtual reality instrument, I didnt know I can turned around to see all surround me. So I saw it twice, I am so impress, because seems they took my imaginations back during the time when Van Gogh still a life.I also like the the 360 degrees movie story about him. Its amazing experience!
My husband bought the VIP tickets for my Birthday which included the VR (additional $5) and a poster from the gift shop which was pretty cool. Overall the experience was great! I loved it. Very interactive and a great learning experience. Appealing to the senses. We took our time going through so lasted about 2 hours. Masks are required which is not advertised or stated on the door.It was a bit challenging getting to take pictures of some of the displays for the people essentially performing photo shoots in or on front of a display for long periods of time. Unfortunately common courtesy is not so common.
Best thing I’ve done in Houston!!! Every single second was beautiful! Sighing in bliss and peace all through out! Worth every single penny! Would love love love to go again! Lowkey, miss it so much! Been trying to send every single family member and friend there way because it an experience that is once in a life time! ♥️
I went to this exhibit and it was AMAZING!!!! I wanted to give gift cards for Christmas presents and chose the THE IMMERSIVE VAN GOGH EXHIBIT HOUSTON because I was told that it was the original and best. WRONG DECISION. In talking to my son and daughter in law....I realized that they did not get the same experience that I did at Van Gogh-The Immersive Experience at 7620 Katy Freeway. Pretty upset that I paid more money for a less than quality experience at the original one on Brittmore Rd. that had no 3d headphone experience, etc. Wont make that mistake again!
Love this expo! Such a wonderful experience and loved seeing all his work creatively delivered this way. I’m going again in January with my family! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I picked the last slot of the evening. It worked best with the schedule I had that day and unfortunately I felt like I was rushed towards the end of the event. They kept announcing multiple times when the expo would be closing and that if I wanted to enjoy the rest of the experience, to hurry on to the next display/room so they could close up.The showroom where you could see the artwork in live motion, they said to see all of the motion pictures, that it would be about 30-45 minutes (rough estimate) and of course I paid for my VIP experience thinking I could just sit there and enjoy the show until it looped around but then another announcement was made where I was rushed to the VR experience because they were shutting that part down. I didn’t want to miss a single second of this experience but sadly, I had to rush through it all to accommodate the staff that was constantly trying to get people out on time.I’m positive all the other time slots throughout the day were not rushed as the evening slot was. I was really bummed, but I learned my lesson & booking an earlier time with my family in January so they can truly enjoy their first experience better than I did!
If you like Van Gogh, youll love this. The animation is very creative and doesnt look contrived. It blends beautifully with the original art work. The transition from one piece to the next is amazing. My only (incredibly minor)complaint is that the gift shop was a little sparse on souvenirs. They had mainstream stuff and posters but no smaller (desk or 8x10) size reproductions. But the history of Van Gogh was very thorough and the entire exhibit was well organized. I recommend it!
I loved the Van Gogh Immersive Experience! Colorful, beautiful, very informative. Highly recommend virtual experience at the end also. The music selections were beautiful, but I can’t understand why the song “Starry Starry Night” was not played at least once time during the entire exhibit?? the song was composed describing Van Gogh’s life to perfection, yet, it was not ever played….that’s why I can only give four stars.
I loved everything about the experience. The extraordinary visual experience goes hand in hand with an impeccable selection of music that enhances the emotion and is perfectly synced with the images. The icing on the cake is the virtual reality experience at the end. If you bought only the standard ticket do yourself a favor and pay the extra fee for the VR goggles. Its unlike anything I had experienced before!
Easy parking, well managed, probably worth the cost assuming youre not an art major looking for information. The main gallery video loop is probably a half hour, youll be tired of sitting before it repeats. Few people lasted through the entire loop. My partner is an art major / event manager, Im in the computer world, both of us thought it was worthwhile.
The technology used to present the exhibit was amazing. It was so educational and kept my attention throughout. I didnt know much about Van Gogh but now Im even able to retain what Ive learned because of the creative way the information was presented. It was all absolutely beautiful. The staff had great customer service.
I was excited about going to see Van Goghs paintings. Little did I know that I was going to see his paintings come to life! This was the most amazing art exhibit I have ever seen. I went with my husband and we both found it fascinating. We saw and learned so much. And then to end things off with a final WOW! there was the virtual tour which we had never experienced. It was quite an adventure for us! We ended up walking out the door with big smiles and feeling very satisfied.
We could not attend and received no refund because Fever would not help us transfer the tickets even though we bought them way in advance and they were paid for in full so it was a waste of money on VIP tickets that had no extra benefit and Fever would not support with any customer service. Will never go to another event if tickets are handled by Fever.
I took my wife and two teenage kids to this exhibit. The first portion is a pretty straightforward museum style display with art and descriptive text highlighting the technique and history. There are a few video presentations and 3d renderings and you really got a good view of the very sad man behind the paintings. My kids sped through this while my wife and I ready every word.It got really good in the next section when we entered the immersive portion. This is a large room with multiple projectors covering the floor and walls with an animated presentation of Van Goghs work and history. It seemed to loop about every 20 minutes. Benches, sling chairs and bean bags are provided. We all loved that room.We didnt do the VR but it looked interesting.Pros:. Really great immersive features, kids stayed interested.Cons:. A little pricey, and over too fast.
This was an AMAZING experience!! My little girl wanted to go for her 9th birthday and we had the most memorable time. The exhibit is set up beyond expectation and the curators/employees were wonderful and so helpful. Definitely take the time to experience this Van Gogh experience while it is in town!
I had heard it was a great exhibit but it was much better than expected. The breakdown of his life and changes in styles and formats culminating in a 30 minute experience in a real immersion of the paintings and imagery with motion and light. Very trippy. We spent almost 2 hours without realizing it..A 10 on the cool meter. Dont miss it.
Way over priced for what you receive from the exhibit. There was little information on Van Goghs life, where he was mentally and physically when he was producing his pieces. The small timeline at the exit of the exhibit was an after though, and shares very little of his life. The space was cold and your asked to sit on a floor. The staff working were busy telling people to put their masks on when they should be chatting with parents who are allowing their small children to run all over the place during the exhibit making it difficult to enjoy. Sitting on the floor for 35 minutes and paying $50 a person is unreasonable. We learn very little about the artist from this experience. There are a few benches us elders can sit on if a young person is willing to move and sit on the floor. This is just an example of an organization taking advantage of his work and calling it an exhibit. Save you money and go to a real museum.
Absolutely amazing experience. The story told in the Immersive Experience is one of a brilliant, yet troubled, man who saw things that other didnt, his struggle with his demons and how his art portrays his struggle- and the Immersive Experience does so creatively and brilliantly. It was worth the 400 mile round trip.
This was a fantastic experience from beginning to the finale of immersion in total Van Gogh. A helpful staff increased our joy in such an awesome adventure. I saw pictures that I did not know existed and gained so much insight into the mind of this artist. It was quite a surprise to find out that Vincent was color blind. His creations are beyond compare. The Immersive Experience, in my opinion, is the best way to meet the man behind the paintings. Thank you.
Experience was fantastic and very fun. In fact my toddler and Kindergartner has been asking to go back and remember Van Gogh’s name! I’d love to take them back but ticket prices prevent that. Would give 5 stars if ticket prices were lower thus making it possible for this to be more than a one time experience.
Such a great experience! This exhibit provided a lot of background information on Van Gogh - his personal life, his paintings and where he got his inspiration from. After attending the other Van Gogh exhibit also currently in Houston we decided that we needed to see both and attended this one. The VIP Virtual Reality Experience was fabulous! I cant say enough good things about this exhibit.
Im sure the show must be good, but my negative review is for Fever. They employ deceptive tactics to create an urgency for you to buy tickets, posting messages saying there will be no more tickets or that they will go up in price. Once you buy the tickets your money will be lost if for any reason you cannot attend. They have a policy of zero returns and instead of giving you any credit, they simply tell you that they can change the date of your tickets, zero refund. Incredible that there are still companies with third world tactics. Response to owner: Find better partners, move away from dishonest partners like Fever Up

2022-01-31What an amazing experience, live and 3D, offers a place to sit and watch the star night and even lay down. You do have to wear a mask but that does not affect anything, we got some amazing pics at the end together and souvenirs. I high suggest coming, I will be back

2022-01-18I LOVED THIS EXPERIENCE. It was such a great day out with my husband. We stayed for well over an hour. Each room was laid out excellent to ensure distance from others. They also had so much information as expected. I found it all very interesting. We loved the huge room to just sit and chill in. We could have stayed there forever! It was so so relaxing! The exhibit was also very clean! I noticed people cleaning several times while I was there.Disappointed that I didn’t do the VR but that’s my fault! I got my tickets on Fever. Really enjoying the events they are listing.Go quick before it is over! You won’t be disappointed if you are a Van Gogh lover or art lover!

2022-02-06Awesome totally worth it. So pretty. I researched both Van Gogh exhibits in Houston and this one proved to be better and cheaper. Plenty of chairs, benches, bean bags, rugs for everyone. Got VIP tickets with VR which was neat. Coloring station was cute. All employees were nice and helpful. Only issue was the photo booth that kept messing up. The employee/manager ended up giving us pic for free since we waited so long which she didnt have to do so that was nice. Wanna go again!!

2021-11-17Amazing! Just Amazing!Even if you are not an art enthusiast, please come see this - you wont regret it.We came today with our Autistic son (he is 20yo and is also visually impaired) and he absolutely loved it. You have to know your own child, of course. Our son is in a wheelchair and we maneuvered perfectly. Very spacious, except for a little crowded at times, in certain spots.Again, it was a great experience. Highly recommend this for anyone and everyone.

2022-03-12Your staff made the total experience more than just a photo extravaganza. Especially Alex who visited with us and shared many of the features we might have missed!! Like the camera icons on the floor to enhance our phone photos. And taking our personal photo in the bedroom display room. Worth every penny of the admission!

2021-12-18This was great! It was so much better than the one who keeps stating they were the “original”. This was more informative and creative. Every room was astounding and the VR experience was so amazing! I paid less for 4 tickets than I did for 2 at the other venue. I highly recommend this one.

2022-01-06It work.be 5 stars but they opened up 16 minutes late. When the tickets said show up 10 minutes before your time. The experience was awesome, leaned alot about his life and his paintings. See all his paintings are amazing and this makes them come to life. The big room was amazing and made you feel like you were in the paintings!!

2021-10-29Great experience! It really is as amazing as you imagine it could be. Check-in was smooth and then off to the museum/informational portion and then into the amazing immersion. I was there about 90 minutes including the VR.I bought my tickets through Fever ages ago and this morning, I just opened the app to scan the ticket at the entrance. Ill admit it was weird to buy a ticket for an exhibit at an unknown place but it turned out great!

2021-12-06Amazing immersive experience. Loved the different rooms and exhibitions they offered. Very similar to that of the original in Paris. Loved the painting area they had too. Very inspiring and relaxing to paint your own Van Gogh painting. Definitely visit before it’s gone. Lots of photo ops too.
