The staff is very nice and organized. They are very responsive. The vet we met was not able to explain the issue. She wanted us to just follow her instructions. She made it sound like an emergency when in reality, it was not. Afterwards, she denied any responsibility and said that it was our decision to do the treatment even though she had pressurized us to do it.
Been to 2 other vets in Austin/Cedar Park and didn’t enjoy either. Finally went to VCA Arbor and the reviews are exactly as described. The staff was amazing with my cats, pricing was completely reasonable especially bringing 2 cats and the dr took her time to go over all options for treatments. This is my new vet office I will be going to. I’m very happy with my experience today!
The staff is so friendly and incredibly down to earth. I don’t have to wait in the waiting room, my babies are given compassionate care, and all my questions are answered thoroughly. They make sure the visit goes smoothly as much as possible and I really appreciate the great service!
Because of their inability to listen to a concern and inaccurate notes of my dog I wont be able to take him into my next apartment and will have to return him to the shelter. In the notes it was stated that when I called into the clinic I said that he was having trouble socializing and being aggressive towards other pets. In reality I was trying to explain how fearful he is of humans and wont even want to go outside because of his fear, when he does make it outside he wouldnt even make it to the grass before he released his diarrhea(caused by stress). He is 100% friendly towards other dogs, even ones who snap at him or try to mount him(stated in the notes from the shelter i adopted him at). The only problem he has is with humans, not being aggressive towards humans but being so fearful that he doesnt even want to go outside.Ive never left a negative review no matter how bad the quality or service. This incident just caused so much grief that I had to share it.I havent met the other doctors and Im sure they are phenomenal but this is geared towards Dr. Kennedy.Edit**Photo below is Mack at his new foster home. First day at the local dog park, off-leash, getting to know the neighborhood! So glad I didnt have to take him back to the shelter.
I cant tell you how wonderful they were. I was scared as my baby Zeus had never needed a vet his entire 13 years. But then his eyes became cloudy. And he began to limp.. they got him in quick the vet was as nice as she could be. And didnt beat me up about his ear infection. I have had him on chondroitin and puppy aspirin and hes fine. Thank you all so much. Best Vet clinic ever!
I had to visit VCA Arbor Animal Hospital today because my mini dachshund had injured his back leg. They were above and beyond the best vet care I have ever seen. We were in and out in under a half hour and all the staff was very nice and friendly. I will most definitely be using them for all my vet needs in the future and thank you so much to the amazing staff.
This was my first visit here and these guys were amazing! I wasnt sure how it was all going to work with Covid, since non-staff are not allowed in the facility, but they did car service where they pick up your pet from your car and you wait in the comfort of your surroundings. The vet called me on the phone during her exam and we talked about the issues going on with my cat. She prescribed medication and one of the nurses delivered her back to my car. Payment was via a text message link to their payment site. So easy and so professional. Everyone was so kind and caring and Dr. Wood was one of the best vets Ive ever been to. Definitely recommend this hospital for your fur babies.
We had our initial consultation with Dr. Ortiz yesterday. What I thought would be a quick appointment to discuss my dogs medical history turned out to be over an hour in depth conversation about his medical history and future treatment plan. She was so well prepared! She reviewed his past 2 years medical history with his previous vet prior to us arriving at the appointment and had notes prepared for the consultation. She was simply amazing from her ability to connect with my dog and communicate to me about the proper course of treatment to be rendered. We look forward to being a long time patient with Dr. Ortiz!
Very happy with our first visit. Everyone was kind, professional and very patient with me and my many questions, concerns etc. They took great care with my 2 dogs and didnt pressure me for anything extra and instead went over all prices with me until I was comfortable. The doctor even gave me plenty of information on what, if anything, was going on with my dogs bodies, teeth, ears, weight etc. One dog is elderly and I feel better knowing more about how shes doing inside and out. Prices were affordable and having worked for a few animal hospitals, I definitely comparison shop and am frugal, and yet was easily satisfied with VCA. I look forward to bringing my girls back if/when we need to.
They have taken great care of my Malamute and everything for a husky/ mally foster we rescued as well. She gets excited when we arrive, and, really loves the cheese!Luckily, gave great emergency care with an eye issue when I could not get an appointment anywhere with Banfield insurance, too. He was better the next day with their care. Thank you again!
The vets at this clinic saw my older cat on the day she was born. Its been her vet ever since despite the fact that I moved to the other side of town. Its worth the drive to get the best care. I think that the veterinarians, techs, and staff all love my pets as much as I do, and they truly want to provide the best care possible. They are great with older animals, and understand that sometimes quality of life beats out aggressive treatments. They are sensitive to my needs and concerns as well...always following up to see how we are all doing after a visit. Id recommend Arbor Animal Clinic highly to anyone in Austin!
Ive been using Arbor Animal Clinic for around 20 years. I had a cat they helped me take good care of for her whole life and now I take my two dogs there.Dr. Hartwell is a great director for this clinic. These days, I take my dogs to see Dr. Rebecca Davies. Shes interacts great with me and my dogs. She is open to inquiries and discussions, and fully understands when personal finances greatly influence decisions. I never feel like Im being judged when I have to take finances into consideration.I would highly recommend this clinic for all types of pet owners. You and your pets will get good service and care from the front desk staff, through the vet techs and the vets themselves.
This place is really great. You can tell the staff really care about you and your pet. I have been to a few other clinics in town and will say that Arbor is way better than the other places. They were able to squeeze in a last minute appointment for us when our cat became very ill. The vet tech and veterinarian took the time to discuss what was going on with our pet, told us upfront how much different tests would cost, were thorough in her evaluation and also explanation of what was going on with her. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
The VCA is a great vet! The front staff is always friendly, efficient and caring to my puppy. Dr. Ortiz always takes her time answering any questions I have, is also caring, gentle but also thorough examining my dog. Their prices are very fair and they dont push unnecessary meds or services just to make more money (like our previous vet did). I highly recommend VCA and Dr. Ortiz!
I love Arbor Animal Clinic. I still take my dog there even after I moved across town. They seem to genuinely care about my dog Cocos health. Coco is an older lab, and I feel that they give me the tips and advice that I need to care for an older dog. They are also respectful of my budget and do not push unnecessary procedures or treatments. I really, really value being able to take my dog to a clinic where the staff really does care, and the costs are reasonable.
Ive taken my puppy here numerous times and each experience has been wonderful. Everyone Ive interacted with at Arbor Animal Clinic has been friendly and helpful. The only problem I end up having is that my puppy doesnt want to leave because he likes the staff so much.In addition to being such an enjoyable experience, the doctors here are top notch. Ive had experience in the past with vets who look for every opportunity to charge me and act like my pets are their ATM. Instead, at Arbor Animal Clinic the doctors have been generous with their time and have put real care into helping my puppy. My last visit I was very worried about an issue he was having and the doctor diagnosed it as being much less serious than I was prepared for and its since been easily (and inexpensively) resolved.I cannot say enough about how happy I am that I chose Arbor Animal Clinic to take care of my best friend.
The Arbor Animal Clinic is an excellent spot to take your pet. The vet techs and the vets are SUPER friendly and caring. They were so excited to see my dog and they treated him with so much love. The staff and vets were very knowledgeable and explained options to me (med types, food options, etc.). I will DEFINITELY be bringing my dog back for his check ups and emergencies.
Arbor Animal Clinic is Great!!! I trust them with my baby girl, Ruby-Bean, and my 2 cats. Theyve taken great care of my animals for over 7 years. When my dog was a puppy, she regularly tried to kill herself by eating mushrooms, and Arbor Animal Clinic always made her healthy. When my 15 year old cat was dying, they gave me considerate options to deal with the situation. They give good advice, options and are reasonably priced.
Dr. Kennedy and the rest of the clinic staff have always been wonderful and very attentive to my pets special needs like anti-anxiety meds for vet visits and getting us into a room as soon as possible. Dr. Kennedy and the clinic staff care about their patients and I trust the advice/recommendations given by them. I recently had to say goodbye to my beloved dog, and everyone was incredibly kind and respectful throughout the process. I would not have been able to handle it without their care and support. I highly recommend Arbor Animal Clinic for your pets care!
Feeling guilty that I havent given them a review sooner. I have been taking my chocolate lab to them for 5 years. Always an excellent experience. Everyone on the staff is friendly and makes sure you know whats going on regarding your pet. Weve seen a few different doctors over the years - all showing a high level of genuine care for him. They give him treats so he loves the vet. Oh and Wednesday & Thursday they do 20% off vaccinations! A great price considering my dog is 90lbs and can cost a pretty penny for any service. Highly recommend their vet services!
Our family likes Arbor Animal Clinic because our pets have received excellent medical care and at an affordable price. We like that the doctors and staff partner with us in caring for our dogs. We feel respected by the staff and doctors. We have not been shamed or pressured into spending for unnecessary services or services that were beyond our family budget. We recommend Arbor Animal Clinic to all of our neighbors.
I moved across the country with my now husband to Austin. I brought my cat with me because we were partners that could not be separated. Shortly after our arrival we needed a vet. I looked at reviews for several places in our area and decided to check out VCA Arbor. They have been nothing but wonderful since. They are up front with their prices and scale it to the reflect what it would cost at the most instead of surprising you.My cat got diagnosed with kidney disease and everyone was incredibly supportive and in helping us keep her around just a little bit longer. Ive been seen by every vet doctor there and they are all wonderful people. All the staff remembered me and Digit.I finally had to make the hardest decision and put my kitty to rest. Everyone was so supportive and sweet helping us through the process .I will always recommend this place and if we decide to get another pet, they will be seeing the wonderful doctors and staff here.
Arbor Animal Clinic is our first choice for our two pups. The facility is easy to get to, and always clean. The doctors and techs have always been pleasant and super caring to my animals. Their prices are reasonable, and they dont force any expensive or unnecessary treatments on us. I would recommend them to friends and neighbors any day.
Ive taken all of my dogs to Arbor Animal Clinic for the 6 years since I moved to Austin.; and I wouldnt go anywhere else. The entire staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and are definitelyanimal lovers. My primary veterinarian is Dr. Davies; She explains everything pertaining to my pets care, and procedures involved, along with options and rationale. I never feel rushed or uninformed.Dr Davies goes that proverbial extra mile; her clinical knowledge and her kindness are extraordinary and very much appreciated. She calls to keep me informed; and the staff calls for follow-up to see how my pets doing.
Dr. Ortiz and her team are absolutely amazing! We drive past countless vet clinics on our 30 minute drive to bring our 4 dogs to this clinic and we rave about this place any time anyone asks about a good vet in Austin. Their recent transition to VCA has been seamless to the consumer; updated signage is the only obvious giveaway. Otherwise, no bumps in the road or issues that usually come with this type of transition.Just a few examples of their greatness:They have refilled meds on a whim, squeezed in our dogs when something unexpected happens and we call on a booked day to get them seen, and even tell you pricing for any tests or medications up-front so youre not surprised by the bill. Theyve never made a billing mistake and even have discounted vaccines one day per week! They really are the best vet weve ever been to.
The doctors, techs and front desk staff are wonderful! They really care about the animals and give kind and gentle service. They are highly trained and knowledgeable of the latest treatments. I have been bringing my cats and dogs here ever since Dr. Hartwell opened the practice. He is extremely compassionate when an older animal passes away, both in person and by sending a hand-written condolence card. I am also impressed that the front desk girls are there for a long time without a big changeover. So it must be a great place to work!
Weve been taking our cats to Arbor Animal Clinic for over 20 years and they are awesome! Everyone is so kind. I appreciate that they dont try to force expensive tests on us either. They give us options and never pressure us to do more than is necessary. They take great care of our cats and are very knowledgeable and honest. We wouldnt trust our fur babies to anyone else.
Dr Hartwell was my vet before he ever opened Arbor Animal Clinic. He and his associates and techs have been caring for my cats and dog for a long time. I cant go anywhere else. They have my heart chained to their ability to care for my animals cheerfully, carefully, and quickly. Techs are very caring and gentle with the animals. Docs are great, too.
I chose Arbor Animal Clinic as my dogs vet after searching various vet websites when I first moved to Austin two years ago. The location was very convenient to where I was living. I have continued to use them as my dogs caregiver after two years and even living in South Austin! The staff is extremely professional and friendly. They are always very helpful and willing to go out of their way for the needs of your pet. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality vet care.
Money-grab policy change: If youve had your pet on un-gapped heartworm medication, they will not refill your prescription without a yearly heartworm test. Im not sure their current cost, but the last time we did that, they charged at least $50 per dog plus the $50+ that the visit cost. The med costs $25/pill too, so expect to be paying big bucks to keep your pet covered. So I can no longer recommend any VCA, and specifically cannot recommend Arbor any longer.
We have been using this vet clinic since our dog was a puppy, and she is almost 4 years old now. We love this clinic! They are thorough, honest, and provide great care to our dog. We have used them for regular checkups, vaccines, injuries, and sickness. They diagnosed our dog when we had just got her from the animal shelter with parvovirus. She got it from the shelter and we were first time dog owners, so it was overwhelming and scary. When we found out she had parvo, they set us up with an excellent overnight vet hospital. They even called the shelter for us to tell them what was going on and tried to get us assistance from the shelter and warn them for the other puppies in her litter.Just last week she slipped on our deck and badly broke her nail. They got us in that day within an hour of calling and fixed her up. They set up follow up appointments, got us the medications she needed, and sedated her for the procedure. And weve never felt their prices were too high. For example, after the nail incident they provided us with a used IV bag to use over her foot in case the grass was wet when she went outside to avoid getting her bandages wet. Im sure they couldve tried to sell us an expensive piece of equipment for the same purpose but didnt. While the vets that work there have changed over the years, weve always had an excellent experience with all the vets and vet techs. She gets very nervous when we take her to the clinic but the vet techs are always very sweet with her and try to make her less scared.I 100% recommend this clinic to any dog owner and will continue to go to this clinic even though weve moved further north into Cedar Park.
Arbor Animal Hospital always has friendly staff, making an appointment is easy and most importantly we love our vet, Dr. Ortiz. Dr. Ortiz is very friendly and always very thorough during our visits. I live in South Austin and enjoy coming here so much that I make the drive - highly recommend this clinic for your fur baby!
The staff at Arbor Animal Clinic is very helpful and very nice. They always schedule us immediately when we need to see the vet. They also do a great job of following up with us by calling to make sure everything is fine. Great service! We also board our dog here and the price is very reasonable. He is very well treated and the staff is so nice to him. Highly recommend.
We love Arbor Animal Hospital! The staff are always welcoming and very attentive to our dogs. When Rue had to have a teeth cleaning the vet made sure to call us in regards to her chipped tooth before she addressed it. We have moved across town but still continue to go here because of the care they provide.
I cant thank the entire staff at VCA Arbor Animal Hospital enough for all they do to take care of our girl, Ellie. They are so friendly, accommodating, understanding, and professional. From the front desk staff, to the vet techs, to the doctors, they are all wonderful. I wish I could remember the names of everyone we have encountered to give them a special shout out because they have all been amazing! Over the past week we have spoken to Kate at the front desk several times and shes been nothing short of amazing!! I couldnt recommend this clinic more. We moved out to Pflugerville but continue visiting this clinic because they go above and beyond every time. Thank you for everything you do!!
Arbor Animal Clinic is most impressive. The veterinarians, assistants, staff, and all are absolute professionals in every sense. They are caring and truly love animals...and the pets humans, as well. :-) As a pet owner for decades, I have never had such pleasurable experiences. You will leave feeling better than when you arrived!
I usually take my dog to a different VCA hospital which couldnt fit us in till next Tuesday as a walk-in--pretty frustrating. Now Ive found the perfect place--VCA Arbor Animal Hospital!!! Very friendly and responsive to our needs. Very efficient from the receptionist Vicky--the techs--to GREAT service from Dr. Lucia! Cant say enough--loved the experience! Oh my doggie did too!!!
My dog was sprayed by a skunk directly in the face. I was concerned about his eyes. I tried to clean them with water. The poor pup was clearly in distress. I brought him in without an appt. The support staff were great. The vet who cared for my dog closely examined his eyes. Since my dog was agitated, the vet sedated my puppy and performed a thorough exam. Out of an abundance of caution, she gave booster shot for rabies. This team at this office love animals and it shows. I am new to Austin and now have go to Vet for my pup.
I just wanted to drop a line and say how great this office is. The front staff is always happy to see us and remember all our dogs. They have a true passion for animals and seeing them be happy and healthy. Ive seen pretty much all the doctors as well and they are great with all my dogs and always listen to my concerns and give great tips. Definitely go here if you are in the area!
I have been a customer of this veterinarian office for 6 years and would never think of going elsewhere. When they switched to a VCA clinic I was immediately impressed. The level of service remained consistently excellent, and prices for some services and vaccinations decreased. The service at this clinic is amazing. The whole staff is great and very welcoming. But I am here to give a virtual high-five to one individual in particular. Kelly, a technician at this clinic has been absolutely amazing with my dog every time we have visited. This incredible service is not limited to animals either. Yesterday during my dogs annual visit and vaccines I had my 3-year old daughter with me. In the middle of the exam she needed to go potty. Without missing a beat Kelly was all over it, talking to my daughter like a real person, earning her trust, and offering to take her to the potty for me. This was a huge help as it allowed me to continue focusing on the exam and the discussion with the Doctor. On previous visits she has helped us out to the car when my hands were full. Even when taking on some of the less pleasant tasks of working at a veterinarian clinic she serves with a smile. This is the kind of service that goes above and beyond the customers expectations and will have me coming back for years to come. Thanks for all your help Kelly! Youre awesome.
I had a wonderful experience here at VCA animal hospital! Usually for me, taking my fur babies to the vet is a super stressful and long process because of past experiences with awful vet clinics. I recently rescued a 6 year old tuxedo cat from Austin Humane Society and we received a free check-up for her at VCA. They got us an appointment the next day and we didn’t wait at all when we got there (and we were 5 minutes early!) The veterinarian was super informal, sweet, and I love that she adored cats and made my new baby feel safe and comfortable. They gave us a little goodie bag with information on how to care for cats/cat behavior and complimentary flea prevention! We were so stoked about that because we’ve been to other clinics that has given my cat fleas and didn’t care at all. They actually denied giving her fleas and said there’s nothing they can do about it. So it was so nice that they gave us flea prevention because after we left we were going to get some ourselves just in case. This is probably the first time I’ve felt so comfortable visiting a vet clinic!
We couldnt go in with our puppy due to covid but I knew he was in great hands. Every nurse and doctor loved on our puppy and spoiled him. He was so comfortable he fell asleep in the vets lap. They are the only place we take all 7 of our babies. They love each of them as if they were their own. We LOVE them!!!!
Friendly, accommodating and trustworthy. My dog was having some issues that needed to be addressed as soon as possible. My old vet was too far away and couldnt fit me in on Saturday. I found Arbor Animal Clinic through Google and called them first thing on Saturday.Although there were no openings the staff told me they would fit me in. My dog was getting checked out within 10 minutes of my arrival. The front desk, assistants and Dr. Laurie were all very friendly and helpful. There were a few nice things I noticed about the clinic. The first is the treat for the dog and jolly rancher for the owner on the examining table. Nice! Second, there is an lcd frame in the examining room that rotates pictures of dogs and cats. I thought that was unique and it entertained me while Dr Laurie was examining my dogs lab work. All and all I feel very confident with my new vet Arbor Animal Clinic.
We have brought our dog here for all of his 10 years. From puppy care to mature dog care, Arbor hospital has done a good job. They are open at convenient times and staff is always friendly. Most important for us is everyone there seems to genuinely love the animals and the doctors are capable and knowledgeable.
Last week my cat suddenly became ill and Dr. Butcher and the staff at Arbor saved her life! I have never had such great communication with a doctor before and I know they gave her a ton of TLC to keep her happy. I am eternally grateful!! I have seen many of the doctors at the Arbor Animal Clinic and they are all caring and tremendously knowledgeable. I love the clinic and my friends do, too.
Ive taken my Springer Callie to Arbor Animal Clinic since she was a puppy. The service and care they provide is consistently amazing.Whether it is a scheduled checkup, or a last minute need, they always look out for what is best for her. There are 2 things I appreciate most. One is the attention they give her. The office staff, vet techs and veterinarians give Callie so much care, that shes excited when we drive up. The second is the consultation they provide. They always give options for treatment which helps me make the most informed decision. The team at AAC is awesome.
We started going to Arbor Animal Clinic when we got our dog because they were 2 minutes down the street and had decent reviews. Having now taken our dog there for almost 4 years, I cant imagine a better vet. These guys are organized, always willing to answer our questions (even when we just randomly call in), and have excellent doctors for our pup, Hazel. We not only go for regular check-ups and vaccines for Hazel, but have also had to have them perform a couple foreign body removal surgeries. They are accommodating of Hazel and her anxiety about going to the vet, doing their best not to put her through anything that isnt absolutely necessary; and for us Arbor Animal Clinic does a great job of being upfront about what procedures are necessary and explaining why and what costs will be associated. We especially like Drs. Kennedy & Butcher for always taking great care of Hazel!
I have been bringing my dog to Arbor for 3 years, and have always received excellent care. The staff is caring and knowledgeable, and it is very easy to get an appointment at convenient times. Any instructions that I need to follow are given to me so that they are clear and easy to understand. I also appreciate their follow-up calls after an injury or procedure.
We took our new puppy to get his first shots! First off, this was the fastest doctors appointment ever and in a good way! Everyone was so sweet and answered all of our questions. They just made everything much easier. Im glad we chose this group of doctors and staff to help care for our pup!
I have been bringing my pets to Arbor Animal Clinic for two years now (as long as I have had pets) and I could not be more satisfied with the service they have provided! All of the staff are very kind, genuine, and you can tell that they are truly passionate about caring for the animals. I am one of those overly cautious pet parents and always call the vet with any question or concern that I have. The vets techs and the vets are always very accommodating and informative. I have the utmost confidence in the staff at Arbor Animal Clinic and know that they truly care for my pets. I highly recommend Arbor Animal Clinic to any pet parent.
Arbor Animal Clinic has taken such great care of our kitty Blanca and our dog, Sophie Belle. They are wonderful, friendly and caring when we come in and they always follow up with us to make sure any treatments / recommendations are working and our babies are doing well. They also helped me set up prescriptions for heartworm and flea prevention through a mail-in service, making it clear that they are here to take care of my family and not for the profit. I wouldnt go anywhere else!
Arbor has been great at caring for my older cat. They understand how traumatic it can be for her to come in for appointments, and have given me advice over the phone before so that I could avoid brining her in unless absolutely necessary. While vet care seems to be pricey everywhere, I felt theyve always been friendly, caring and genuinely concerned for my pet. I never felt rushed through an appointment, and they follow up afterwards to make sure any issues have resolved.
Dr. Davies has been so amazing! I cant even express in words my gratitude for her taking the time to listen to my concerns about my aging Border Collies behaviors. I feel that Dr. Davies not only listens, but also values my thoughts and ideas towards possible solutions in addressing my dogs behavior. I highly recommend this clinic...it was recommended to me and I am so thankful I heeded the referral.
I no longer go to this clinic ONLY because I moved to another state. They provide excellent customer service! My dogs vet took her time to answer a few of my questions thoroughly and did not give me the impression that she was in a hurry to see the next patient. She probably spent a solid 15 minutes just explaining my options for flea and heartworm medications and discussing pros and cons. When I got my dog neutered, his vet called me during the surgery to ask me if I wanted a wart to be removed from his lips and explained to me the pros and cons. After his surgery, she called me to make sure he was doing well. What more do you want from your vet?!
We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a wonderful and caring doctor such as Dr. Ortiz. Our two dogs and cat all see Dr. Ortiz for annual checkups along with allergy treatments, rattlesnake vaccinations medications amonst other things. Her treatment approaches are always aligned with the latest research and have proven themselves very effective with my fur babies. For the discerning moms out there-- Dr. Ortiz is your best bet!
I have been going to Arbor Animal Clinic for almost 20 years. They have cared for many of my pets. Never once have I felt rushed through a visit. The entire staff is friendly and you can tell that they care for your pet as if it were their own. Dr. Davies is an excellent veterinarian. I would recommend Arbor Animal Clinic as the first choice for animal care. Great place.
We love Arbor Animal Clinic. We have been going there since I think 1992 or 93. We started out with Dr. Hartwell way back when he was treating animals and we had great respect for his decisions. At some point he stopped directly treating our animals and worked in the capacity of medical director. We were told that Dr. Dulaney was amazing by some friends. We love Dr. Dulaney too. She is so sweet, caring and gentle with our pets. She is great with the humans too and has great advice and tips. The techs have also been outstanding! They are so sweet to our pets. We had cats that lived for 17 years and 19 years under their care. We now have small dogs that they care for. I highly recommend them!
I bring my cat and dog here and theyve always been super friendly. Drop offs are available for when you can get in for a specific time appointment. The vet always keeps me informed before doing any treatment. Its been about $170 each time but those were for specific issues. Havent had shots done here yet.
Arbor Animal Clinic is the best vet Ive ever had experience with. My dog, Astrid, sees Dr. Butcher, and we both absolutely love her. She is polite, professional, and really pays attention to your dogs issues. Astrid actually gets excited going to the vet because she knows everyone there will be friendly and happy to see her. Ive seen other doctors at the clinic when Dr. Butcher has been unavailable, and they all have been just as professional and kind. Their prices are very reasonable as well, and they always let you know how much something will cost before its done. I also like that theyll schedule appointments later in the day because it can be really difficult to fit appointments into my work schedule otherwise.
I brought my kitty to Arbor Animal Clinic, and the service was fantastic. They really get to know you, and you never feel rushed. You can tell that they really love cats and dogs! My kitty is recovering from the minor operation, and I feel relieved that she was in good hands.
17 years of taking our two dogs here and when our dog had blood in his poop and we were leaving the country the next day they couldn’t find a way to squeeze him in so that he could be seen before we left. Wouldn’t even let us drop off a specimen to be tested. I get it, you are busy with other patients. But no referral to an emergency vet? No help at all? Ouch.
Ive been with Arbor for almost 5 years. Sadly, our first time was to put our dog down. We had been in Texas for only 2 months and had not found a vet yet. They were so caring and genuinely seem to feel our pain. Since that day, weve taken our 3 other dogs to them. Each visit is like youre the only one there. They take their time with our babies and never seem rushed to get out of there. I highly recommend them to anyone.....either new to the area or just looking for a different vet.
We have been bringing our pets to Arbor Animal Clinic for over 20 years. Dr. Hartwel, all the other doctors, and the entire staff at Arbor have provided wonderful care for our Molly, Ruby, Pearl, Emmie, and Amber over the years. The doctors are extremely thorough in their assessment and explanation of any case. they take time to discuss all the options and to explain how they arrived at their recommended treatment. In other words, the doctors always tell us WHY certain treatments are chosen. That thorough communication is uncommon and is probably the main reason we are so loyal to Arbor Animal Clinic. The entire staff at Arbor is focused on all the pets they care for--and they provide wonderful care for them all. Our two girls are always happy to see everyone at Arbor. Because of this, Arbor is also our choice for pet boarding when we travel.I recommend Arbor Animal Clinic to all my pet-owning friends.
I recently moved to the Austin area, and chose to try Arbor Animal Clinic for my two kitties. So far, the experience has been great! The vets, technicians, and other staff are consistently informative and friendly, and theyve been exceedingly gentle and caring in handling my cats. My older boy, whos about 10 or 11, has a substantial amount of weight to lose, and Dr. Kennedy gave me practical instructions about how to help him do so; and about a month after our initial appointment, she got in touch with me at no additional cost to follow up with his progress so far. My 1-year-old rescue girl needed to be spayed, and throughout the entire process they kept me updated, educated me about my options regarding pre-anaesthesia blood work/microchipping her while she was under/even trimming her nails, so I was able to customize the experience for my budget and what would be best for my girl. On the day of the surgery, they even called to let me know when she was through the procedure and in recovery (a real gift to a worried pet parent). Im honestly thrilled with Arbor so far, and would definitely recommend them.
Last month my boyfriend and I took our pet to get his annual rabies shot. The vet Jennifer Moon took literally one minute to exam our dog, and the examination fee turned out to be about 55 dollars. Moreover, our dog is only 10 pounds, and the vet suggested us to get all three vaccinations on the same day. I rejected her idea, and our dog still felt quite uncomfortable the 2nd day with only two vaccinations.During our visit there, all she tried to do is to sell us stuff (services and medications). She doesnt really concern about the well being of the pet, rather she only cares about pushing us to pay more at the clinic. The whole visit she spent less than 10 minutes with us, and the exam fee was over 150 dollars.I was extremely unsatisfied about what happened. We went back to the clinic and a nice front desk lady processed our refund for part of the services (thanks for her help). What is really ridiculous is I scheduled another appointment to get my dog the other vaccination he needed. Without telling us, they exam him again and charged another 40 dollars examination fee! We didnt argue with them, but we decided never to come back again.I dont know if the experience I had is an exception, but this place definitely does not deserve a 4.8 review. I suspect that most of the reviews are not real. I would never recommend anyone to visit this place.
Finding the right vet(s) for your fur children is serious business. Fortunately we found them in time to care for our dog & cat when they were in good health and in ill health. The vets & staff - everyone - at Arbor Animal Clinic have helped us through both. They are compassionate, professional, and very human at all ends of the care spectrum. From saying goodbye to an ailing pup to welcoming a new one, they team at AAC feel like family. How can you ask for more?
Absolutely love this vet and everyone that works there! They take very good care of our dog Josie and handled our cat Lotuss passing like angels. Josie especially loves Dr. Kautz! We are grateful to have found such a great group of people that truly care about the animals and not about the $$$. The prices are quite reasonable.
We love Arbor Animal Clinic. They have taken care of all of our pets. We just recently had our dog diagnosed with lymphoma and Dr. Delaney helped us through the entire process until the end. When the awful time came to put her to sleep the staff were extremely sympathy. We received her ashes in a beautiful urn in a bag with her initial on it. Along with a paw print in clay with her name. Then they sent us a card from the clinic. We now are taking our new adopted puppy there. We would not trust our fur babies with any other place.
We have been using the vet services of Arbor Animal Clinic for 8 years for our Sheltie Ginger. The Vet Techs and Vets have always been courteous, knowledgeable and have provided excellent care. We now have a new addition to our family, Sheba a recue smooth collie. She has been seen by the staff at Arbor and although very nervous at first they were able to clam her down and treat give her excellent care. We will continue to use the services of Arbor for both our little girls and would recommend them to anyone who needs vet services.
We have been going to this clinic for almost 20 years. In fact, when we moved we tried a closer vet, but decided to continue to go to Arbor even though its quite a drive for us. We use to see Dr. Hartwell who is so awesome! He performed surgery on our lab for cancer. Since then we have seen many of the doctors and they are all the doctors are very good. They are very accommodating with scheduling. The staff is friendly. I recommend them to everyone.
Today, we had to put our 13 year old lab, Jade to rest. For those of you who have done this before, you know it’s a very difficult thing to do. You want to feel you are doing the right thing for your dog. Dr. Renner has been with us along the journey. She helped us with some of our final decisions dating back over a month ago as she listened to us and spent time with Jade. Today, during our difficult time, Dr. Renner was empathetic, comforting and loving to Jade. She made the whole process as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend Dr. Renner and VCA because of the quality care Jade received over the years and the comfort they gave us as we said goodbye.
I have been taking my pups here for many years! I always receive the BEST customer service !! They are friendly & knowledgeable. Dr. Delaney has always been very thorough and compassionate! They even call to check on my babies the day after the appointments!! HIGHLY recommend Arbor Animal Clinic !!! :)
I have been seeing Dr. Davies at Arbor Animal Clinic for the past 5 years. I have brought both my cats and my dogs to this clinic and I am always greeted with a happy friendly face! I love the attention we get and the empathy and compassion with which Dr. Davies does her job.
I took my animals here for *years* and I was very sorry to move too far away to use them anymore. The staff has always been professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Its also very apparent that the staff is there for their love of animals- I have never been to a place before or since where my pets got *snuggled* during their check-ups. Even after moving to Round Rock, I still used them. Tried two different vets in Round Rock and had two different very bad experiences, so I drove my crew (5 animals total) all the way to Arbor, until we moved again. The friendly reminder cards, accurate record keeping, and mostly on-time appointments are only a small part of the reason I kept going back.
We have had great experiences with several vets at Arbor, but have felt especially grateful to Dr. Kautz and now Dr. Butcher. They have both helped keep our pup Frodo happy and comfortable in his senior years. Staff are always helpful and go above and beyond to make going to the vet a positive experience.
These ladies are skilled, professional and are just so good at their jobs. We are grateful for the compassionate care Drs. Renner and Ortiz have given Miranda, our geriatric lady cat. Were also impressed by the excellent customer service delivered by front desk staff, and the bedside manner of vet techs.
Ive been bringing my dog here for 2 years. Weve lived in several cities and had several vets throughout his life. Dr. Davies is one of the best weve met! Our dog is older and has many health problems. Dr. Davies has always been kind and caring as she has shared diagnoses. She gives us information about a treatment plan, but does not push us to pay for procedures we are not comfortable with. If you go here, request Dr. Davies!
I have been with Arbor Animal Clinic for over a decade. I cannot say enough about the wonderful doctors and staff. I have several vets closer to me, but will not change. I truly respect the skill and knowledge they provide, and they have helped out during difficult times.
Everyone I have met on staff has been so sweet! They have a lot going on and I have seen 2-3 different doctors. All very caring and reasonable with testing and treatment recommendations. They love animals, and you would think any vets office would, but Ive been to some which were not as obviously so.
Our 10 year old Cock-a-poo was very sick with a bacterial infection. The entire staff took such wonderful care of our dog and of us throughout the entire ordeal. Weve been using this clinic for many years for both our cats and our dog and weve never had a problem. They are very helpful, courteous and caring.
Arbor Animal Clinic was a great find for us when we recently moved to Austin with our two, adult felines. The administrative staff was knowledgable, pleasant and patient. The Dr. we saw took her time to talk to us about the kids, their nutritional needs and to explain the potential cause of some minor issues they have.We also really appreciate their follow-up with reminders about checking their weight and when its time for their next check-ups.Go and find out for yourself why we had a great experience. We hope you do too.
We LOVE LOVE Arbor Animal Clinic!! Our dog Lacey enjoys going, whether its for her annual check-up or just to get her nails clipped. The staff there genuinely loves animals and makes each one feel special and at home. Dr. Kautz is wonderful...he is calm and patient during the exam and she doesnt even mind her shots that much. I credit that to the kind demeanor of Dr. Kautz and his staff during the visit. I never feel rushed and he always happily answers all my questions. When I called the next day with follow-up questions, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, as they always are when I call. Over the years, we have taken our pets to other vets, and we are so thankful we found Arbor Animal Clinic and Dr. Kautz.....they are the best!!!
Ive been coming here since moving to Austin in 2012 with my mini Aussie. They always adore him and are mega kind when we show up. Show him major affection and super sweet talk to him when in the exam room - I know this comforts him a little better. The staff is gentle with him and are friendly and informative when I have questions. Ive had two emergencies so far where I had to make an appointment the day of, and they have been accommodating to fit us in promptly. I also purchase my heartworm meds here for him, instead of buying online.
Great vet, been taking my puppy here for a year. When we had just gotten our dog, we took her in for a regular exam with Dr. Kennedy and my dog had roundworm-- okay visit. The next day my poor dog stopped eating and they were able to squeeze her in last minute with Dr. Kautz who we really liked. Dr. Kautz was attentive and ended up giving her fluids and extra medicine (she fully recovered within a couple of days). Unfortunately, we were charged for the second exam in addition to the meds even though shed just been seen the previous day. The vet techs and staff at the front desk are very friendly and well organized. Overall I recommend Arbor Animal Clinic.
My wife and I have been taking our dogs here for the past 5 years. I cannot say enough good things about this place! The staff is extremely friendly and the doctors are very thorough and provide excellent care. We moved to Round Rock a year ago, but we still bring our dogs here for their check ups and when they get sick. 5 stars all the way!
A few weeks ago our little buddy was extremely sick, wed never been to VCA but they were able to fit us in last minute. The whole staff from the front desk to the vet tech to Dr Moon was extremely nice, and didnt push anything to drastic/expensive that wasnt needed. Not long afterwards our little buddy was back to his normal self in no time!
Have been looking for a vet home for my pups pretty much since moving to Austin 18 years ago. Have had so-so experiences and one really bad so decided to try Arbor since it was close to home and highly rated on Angies list. Weve found our vet home! From walking in the door to leaving, it is always a positive experience for the pups and for me. Weve had some unusual canine health problems and Dr. Kautz and Dr. Kennedy have cared for them with great care and expertise. I especially appreciate that nobody tries to sell anything...we get the 3 year rabies vaccine, have been offered the option to get heartworm preventative at a lower cost at Emancipet (yes! they are OK with that!), and have always understood the plan of care (and why) before leaving. One pup has needed both chest and leg surgery and we were referred to vet surgeons for that. When we got to the surgeon on a Monday after a Friday visit to Arbor, she had the history and x-rays from Arbor - already! Surgeries went well and each time Dr. Kautz has asked how pup was doing about a week after the surgery. Imagine how good it feels to receive such comprehensive care from folks who obviously are invested in a good outcome and are really nice people, too. Yep, we are home.
Dr. Davis and the staff at AAC are so great. Dr. Davies is so patient and knowledgeable and really takes time to explain all sides of an issues to help with decision-making. She understands the balance between great care for your furry buddy and the difficulty of financing diagnostics/procedures, and tries to come up with the best solutions. She is so gentle with our kitties and I appreciate her kindness and excellent care.
The whole Arbor Clinic staff took wonderful care of us humans and our dog when we had to say good-bye to him last Friday. It was a very hard moment and I couldn’t have wished for a more empathetic, respectful support from a vet. I was blown away how warm and sensitive they helped us managing this hard decision had how supportive they were during the whole process. As sad as it was, the doc gave us the feeling that we were doing the right thing. She gave us the freedom to make the decision that seemed right for us without putting any pressure on us and giving us the time we needed. I feel very grateful that the end of our dogs long life was as peaceful and right as his whole life. A special thank you to the doc (I don’t remember her name) who was so nice and gentle with us and our dog.I cant’ speak highly enough about this experience. Thank you!
Arbor Animal Clinic has been providing care for our pets for over ten years. And over that period, we have always had the utmost kind and professional care from staff and the Doctors. Dr. Rebecca Davies has been caring for our black lab, Sadie Belle, for several years. She has lovingly provided the greatest of medical care to Sadie through a cancer surgery and has Sadie on a new drug for seasonal allergies that has been remarkable. Sadie and her parents are doing great and we are grateful for Arbor Animal Clinic!Arbor Animal Clinic rocks! Kathy DeBrabant
AAC has been taking care of my two cats for a couple of years now and every experience has been amazing. Dr. Kennedy is our vet and she always goes above and beyond to care and take care of my cats. I always recommend AAC to all my animal loving friends. The front desk is always help and super nice and always make the check in and check out process easy. Thanks for all that you do AAC!
I came in today with my dog having an abscess on her neck that had burst on the way there. The staff was quick to get me and my dog a room. Doctor Devoto was amazing!!! I have never seen a vet just role up her sleeves like that and take care of the situation. Thank you so much for everything.
I’ve been meaning to write a review for Arbor animal clinic since I moved to Austin. Every single person on staff is so great, from the minute you walk in stressed out about your babies being at the vet! So warm and empathetic and you can tell they really care about the animals. Dr.Ortiz has been my vet for the last 2.5 years and I would recommend her to anyone!Thank you to everyone at arbor animal clinic for always making our visits so welcoming. :)
Amazing staff that know your pet by name. I rarely have to wait in the waiting room to see a vet or pick up a rx. Dr. Davis is always upbeat and patiently answers every one of my questions. She prints out with information on how I can effectively treat my dog and I leave feeling like I have an clear plan on what I can do to keep my Pockos kidney disease in check. Also, the front desk and technicians always seem so happy to see you when you walk in. A lot of vets I had been to looked irritated that they had yet another person to see and more work to do. Overall I would 100% feel confident in recommending Arbor Animal Clinic (and Dr Davis!) to everyone who wants caring and affordable pet care!
I brought my 8 week old kitten to Dr. Jordan in 2011 and he helped me address some illnesses she brought home from the pound. He offered inexpensive solutions (he doesnt over-prescribe) that helped get our kitty back to health. He has since given us practical advice and care when our cats had issues. We moved to Dallas for a few years and I went to four vets trying to find the same level of care. Luckily we are back in Austin so we are back to Dr. Jordan.
Arbor Clinic is truely wonderful! They have been taking care of 3 of by precious fur babies for a number of years now and with lots of Love and care! I manage apartments in the Arboretum and I refer many of my residents to Arbor Clinc and they are also very happy with them all the Doctors and staff! I love the whole atmosphere and the special care they always give us!! I espically love the way they remember all my little ones by name. I truely cant say enough good things about Arbor Clinic.
I really love Arbor Animal Clinic, and Dr. Laurie specifically. She has a passion for helping animals and was very nice to my kitties. She is also very understanding and compassionate when her customers are on a tight budget. I very much recommend Dr. Laurie to anyone searching for a vet.
The clinic has met my expectations for1) ease of scheduling,2) timeliness of the appointment,3) friendliness and care provided by staff,4) guidance and knowledge provided by Dr. Dulaney, and5) follow-up after the appointment. They left both a voicemail and an email to make sure that our puppy didnt have reactions to the vaccinations. They were also very prompt in calling in prescriptions and notifying me when the medications were available for pick up.
Every time I bring our dogs in for a visit i am impressed by Dr Kennedys thoroughness and her efforts to explain results so that they are understandable and not just a list of data. Also, being able to board our dogs there is invaluable to me because I know they will be well cared for.
I took my beloved kitty here for the necessary shots and chipping so she could move with me to Europe. From the front desk to the vet assistants to the vet everyone was kind, competent, professional and helpful - making a cumbersome and stressful bureaucratic task as smooth and cost efficient as it could possibly be.I was always in good hands and could trust the advice I was given.
Ive taken my dog here for about 6 years up until 3 months ago. First of all, this place will try to upsell you for any product, for any issue. I dont think I ever left there without spending at least 400 dollars. My dog has had a cough for about 4 years now (he is 9) and everytime I would ask them about it or bring him in for it they would suggest its allergies or that its normal -here, try this product. My dog is in good health overall, but Im always a worried mama. A few months ago I had to take my dog to the ER due to his cough. I wasnt in the room with the doctor for more than 20 minutes when he suggested getting an xray. Hes prediction was correct, my dog has a type of heart disease. Its grown from being overworked and is actually putting pressure on his trachea making it hard for him to breath.Heres my next issue with them. When he was about 7 I started getting yearly blood tests and taking him and and asking them to go over everything to make sure hes in good health. Every blood test came back fine. They specifically told me his heart and organs look good! That was a few months ago in May. I had lost faith in them already due to their lack of finding his heart problem. Over 4 years they knew about that cough and it never occurred to them that this happens in smaller dogs?!So when my new vet asked if I could get the bloodwork sent over to approve him for a medication- I was warry to trust the results and wanted them to do their own. Sure enough- liver problems. Something that should have been caught from the numerous tests they claimed to have run.Im very disappointed that it went down this way. I wasted thousands of dollars here (tooth extractions, etc) now Im wondering if all of it was justified. Seems like they need to pay more attention to the animals and not the dollar signs.
Misdiagnosed my cat, which caused my friends to have to take him to the ER while i was away, 3 days later. I took him because something was obviously wrong with his mouth, but i was assured he would be fine. I feel that the issue was obvious, so much so i knew it was there. They were also being slow in transferring his complete records to my new vet, which is just rude.I was always nice to them.
I started using this clinic around the time I moved to the area based on the reviews, and Im extremely happy with the decision. Their prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and professional, and Dr. Dulaney has proven to be extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and an all around great vet. Theres the tl:dr of our experience, with more detail following. On one of our very first visits, I brought a concern to Dr. Dulaney that my dog Chaz had been urinating more frequently and in the house, which is unusual for him. She performed a urinalysis, and the results showed abnormal cells. She recommended an ultrasound, which revealed that my dog had Transitional Cell Carcinoma, an extremely aggressive bladder cancer. Because it was caught so early, we were in the position to be able to attack it on all fronts, surgery, chemo, meds...the whole gamut. I read horror stories on many different forums where people had taken their pets to the vet with similar concerns, and they were written off as persistent UTIs, given antibiotics, and sent on their way, when in the end it turned out to be cancer and wasnt caught until much later. Dr. Dulaney took my concerns very seriously, and was educated and knowledgeable enough to recognize such an abnormality with the performed tests, and from my understanding the abnormal cells that were shed were not in a large quantity.Unfortunately, my dog ended up passing away from the disease, but I am confident I had more time with him than most because of the early diagnosis. While I worked with a specialist on most things cancer related, I continued to bring Chaz to Dr. Dulaney in for check ups. I had tons of questions and she was always extremely patient and thorough with explanations, whether I was asking during an appointment, a phone call, or just dropping in...which I did all of these, frequently. I never felt rushed, or like she needed or wanted to be doing something else. When the terrible day came that I knew I had to let Chaz go, she provided a wonderful recommendation of a vet who could come and perform the procedure at home. And lastly, she sent a beautifully written card, with a picture of a black Pomeranian on the front, just like Chaz.I will absolutely continue to use Dr. Dulaney and Arbor Animal Clinic for my other pets with confidence, and highly recommend them to others.
The worst. The front desk tried to argue about money with my accountant, he works at a bank and you work for a vet, Im pretty sure he knows more about money than you do(It seems likely that he knows more about animals too). They cant even get the gender correct, I learned that in 3rd grade. They misdiagnose, upsell their product, they discriminate, over charge and you have to get a second opinion(BY AN ACTUAL VET) on everything so you might as well start somewhere else. Being disabled, I will say it feels like they discriminate against disabled people and they purposefully made my service dog uncomfortable. At the very least it doesnt feel like they are ADA compliant. Not even joking, by far the worst experience I have had in years. First, welcome to the 21st century, second learn when to stop talking. You literally have to tell them to stop talking or just walk out. They have no people skills and my dog was very uncomfortable with the front desk. Its tiny, crowded and feels like a butcher shop with flickering florescent lights. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!
Dr. Kautz and the staff at Arbor Animal Clinic are amazing. Dr. Kautz gave my dachshund a new life, and possibly saved his life (or at least his back). I was convinced Marleys fairly sudden and unrelenting weight gain had a medical reason behind it. It wasnt really safe to take him for his beloved walks anymore as the weight gain led to back problems. He was miserable. We went to 5 vets at various other offices around town before Dr. Kautz. Every single one discredited my notion that there was something medically wrong with him and prescribed prescription weight loss doggy food instead. A basic thyroid test at the first vet, which was confirmed by the others, proved there was nothing wrong with his thyroid. A million thanks to Dr. Kautz, who performed a Free T4 test (not literally free, thats the name of it) and confirmed Marleys thyroid problem. I unfortunately trusted the medical professionals before him, but I also trusted my gut. Thanks to Dr. Kautz and Arbor Animal Clinic, Marley has a new lease on life and is loving every minute of it, at the head of the pack during doggy walks again!Dachshunds have notorious bad teeth. My other pooch, Floyd, was no exception and I had neglected his dental cleanings. Dr. Kautz did what Im convinced few other dentists wouldve been able to do. Once he got in there complications arose due the extent of Floyds tooth decay, but his expertise and experience shined again in the way he handled those complications and brought Floyd through it perfectly.Theyve been excellent on every visit, the knowledge, experience and genuine concern evident every step of the way. We moved out of the state, and I miss our vet more than any other business in Austin (yes, even more than Rudys). We miss it the most because its the one well truly never be able to replace.
Ive been going here for about a year, but today I realized how great arbor animal clinic is. My dog has all black nails, so Im scared to do his nails. I had been going to petsmart and petco previously and they charge about 20-25 dollars for nail clipping and filling and there have been multiple times they missed the dewclaw. At Arbor they did a really good job getting all his nails as small as possible and treated him really well and it was way cheaper then petsmart and petco. And the staff is really great and care a ton about your pet. They answered all my questions and were really helpful. Take your pet here! you wont regret it.
Im sorry for being honest, but the truth is, this place is overpriced and the staff only wants to charge as much things as possible to make a good bill. I went there a year ago when I just arrived at Austin and my dog had got a skin infection and ear infection. They just recommended me buying a lot of their products, gave me a receipt for antihistamines and they wanted me to pay for a biopsy of the bacteria in the ears of my dog (I did not). The bill was 180$ for NOTHING. My dog got worst in two days and I had to rush to another vet, who gave me antibiotics and finally my dog recovered. I heard some other bad reviews from this place, I definitely not recommend it to anybody.
Not sure what is going on over there, but I have tried for weeks now to get my dogs prescription filled. They are clearly understaffed because Ive received NO response from anyone, and Ive been on hold for 20 minutes now. The girl who answered the phone said I had to wait because she is training someone right now. Maybe try helping your clients work through the issue and train the new folks on that. Very disappointed in you all.
The prices here are pretty fair, compared to lots of other vet offices, and the people here really care abut you and your pets. When I had to put my Gracie-cat to sleep here three years ago, I was allowed to be with her while they euthanized her. It was the most beautiful, yet devastating, experience Ive ever had. Grace purred as I held her, all the way until the medicine took effect. F**k cancer! The doctor and her staff mailed me a really heartfelt card a few days later, which made me feel better.Okay, Im going to end this now so I can find a kleenex.
I think this is an awesome place to go!! They got us in and out quickly, and when we had to have shots for our baby Boots she didnt even know that she was getting any shots thats how good the doc was! I would greatly recommend this place to anyone that cares and loves their animals!!! Thanks to all of the staff.Ronda, Travis, Trevin & Boots :)
I became very disillusioned with Arbor Animal Clinic after my last visit, on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014.. I will NEVER go back to this clinic. My female Papillon was pregnant and a large portion of one of her puppies placental sacs had come out of her. However, she was not in labor, which worried me terribly. I brought her into see Dr. Kennedy that afternoon, and she gave my Papillon 2 doses of oxytocin, to stimulate her labor contractions. The oxytocin did not work, and Dr. Kennedy recommended a C-Section. She told me all the puppies could already be dead inside my Papillon at this point. Dr. Kennedy had quoted me $1,000 for a C-section at the Arbor clinic, but when I talked to her on the phone later in the afternoon, the price for the C-section had risen to $1,800. She told me a C-section in conjunction with a spay would be easier and cheaper, and I asked her to go ahead and do this, to save my dog. I requested this at about 4:45 in the afternoon, and the Arbor Clinic did not close until 6:00 pm. Dr. Kennedy told me she could NOT do the C-Section and spay, because that would mean she would have to STAY PAST 6:00 pm, when the Clinic closed. I begged her to go ahead and do the procedure, and told Dr. Kennedy I would pay her EXTRA MONEY for any overtime. Dr. Kennedy called me back and told me the Arbor Clinics director, Dr. Hartwell, would NOT ALLOW her to stay overtime past 6:00 pm in order to do this procedure. It did not matter to Dr. Hartwell that my female dog was in distress, that it was not even 5:00 pm when I had begged Dr. Kennedy to go ahead and have this procedure done, that one of her puppies placental sac was clearly emerging from her womb already, and that she may actually have 5 dead puppies inside her at this time. NONE OF THAT MATTERED TO DR. HARTWELL. The ONLY THING that MATTERED to Dr. Hartwell was that HIS STAFF HAD TO GO HOME BY 6:00 PM. I even talked to Dr. Hartwell on the phone myself, and he would NOT keep his clinic open PAST 6:00 pm that day. That afternoon when I had talked to Dr. Hartwell BEFORE 5:00 PM, it was made abundantly clear to me what Dr. Hartwells REAL PRIORITIES are. Those priorities are certainly NOT the health and welfare of my pregnant dog, who was having a very difficult time delivering her pups and was clearly and quite VISIBLY in LABOR DISTRESS. I was so angry and disgusted I could not believe this. I will NEVER, EVER visit the Arbor Animal Clinic again, and I strongly recommend that you find someplace else to take your pet.
AMAZING!!! From the front desk to our neurologist, Dr. Casey Birkel. Clean, thorough, patient, accommodating. I’d give more stars if I could!!! If your dog suffers from seizures like mine does, Dr. Birkel is THE BEST!!! Can’t say enough great things about her. WERE SO GRATEFUL!! THANK YOU to all the staff their and especially to Dr. Birkel and her nurses!!!
Absolutely the best veternarian I have ever been to. Thank you Doctor Kennedy for the excellent care and service you gave my little .60 Chihuahua today. I didnt even have an appointment and they made room for my baby. I also want to thank a techncian, Katie for all your help.
I want to thank Arbor Animal Clinic Dr. Davies for saving my leg and all the care they has provided to me and my family of furbabies (megan, Tina, Kramer, Joy, PeeWee) over the past 10 years. When the mean dachunds next door attacked me and almost chewed my leg off, Dr. Davies made sure to keep my leg clean and treated so I didnt get an infection. She showed my parents how to clean my leg wounds and even came in on weekends to clean my leg. Thanks to her. I still have 4 legs! I will forever be grateful to Dr Davies and all the staff at Arbor who make me feel comfortable when I have to come in. Thank You!
COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT! I arrived 5 mins early for my 5:15 appt and they took me straight me to the waiting room. I had my young toddler with me and figured they wouldnt leave me waiting too long knowing this. The receptionist came into the room at 5:40 and apologized for the wait. I said that my dog needed to pee and she was more than happy to let me take him out as they still were not ready. I went back into the room and waited another 15 mins, by this time my child was screaming and I dont blame her after that wait in that crappy room. We stormed out and as I told the receptionist we were leaving as we had a 5:15 appt and it was now 6, she was like, Oh OK. Really? Terrible staff. No professionalism.
Oh my God love love love this place!!! Started out with the kindest treatment ended that way. We were given options to save us money by performing certain tests first and waiting results before needlessly trying another test. Everything was explained so well!! So appreciative!!

2022-08-11Love this place! I brought my little husky baby in for a rash that I had never seen before. Turns out it was a hotspot! All of the nurses and doctors were so sweet and provided the right amount of personal space for my pup. She is a rescue and can be a bit skittish. I felt very comfortable letting them take her to the back for her treatment and she didnt seem to be too frightened. The doctor even sent a text to check in a week later. So grateful that I switched to VCA!

2022-07-02First time customer at Vca. I had just adopted a dog and was able to make a new dog apt here within a week. I brought my new dog to the VCA per the shelters recommendation. I haven’t been happy with a local vet I use for my other dog, and never heard of the VCA prior to the shelters recommendation. I was really happy with my visit at the VCA. The vet patiently answered the long list of questions I had, and provided some valuable information my previous vet failed to provide. Their services are also less expensive than my other vet. I am so happy I found them, and will be taking both my pups here going forward.

2022-09-09You dont always expect your vet to have good prices on dog food, but I checked and they really do. You leave a message giving pets name, anytime 24/7, they check inventory, set your food aside, and call saying it is ready. Then you stop by at your convenience in the next week to pick up and pay. Works fine.

2021-06-04Our family is so grateful for Dr. Lucia and her team at VCA. We brought in our cat Vader, and received a very kind, warm welcome. They treated Vader with such kindness and respect, and gave so much good insight into caring for our pet. They also have a great program called CareClub, which has been a great way for us to financially plan for Vader’s future visits with VCA. All that said, we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for their next pet care provider!- Royce, Jolie, Julian, Lydia, Elliott, Amelie, and Vader!

2022-08-04The staff was very friendly and on top of things except for Nancee. She was very rude about our payment methods and if it werent for the rest of the staff and Dr. Wood for giving us great care, I wouldnt come back.

2019-11-30Some places you go to for help seem to be there primarily for making money, while others are in the business of helping with compassion.VAC Arbor Animal Hospital was referred to me who has cats. I can see why she said it was a great place. My dog, Merry, ingested something outside that upset her stomach.A day before I brought her in, I called to get some advice, hoping I could take care of it on my own. The receptionist went and asked a vet my questions, and I was very grateful. Although I ended up taking her to VCA the next day, it was a relief to see how attentive and caring they were. Some of the employees there have worked there for over 10 years. That usually indicates it is a good place for humans too.Dr. Moon examined Merry, prescribed meds and the treatment was successful. They called a few days later to see how she was doing which was unexpected.I did not feel that I was over charged.Gratefully, I live less than a mile from this great animal hospital.

2019-04-16We love VCA Arbor Animal Hospital. When we got our baby, Nugget, from APA she had an eye infection, ear infection, and both types of mange! The poor thing. VCA helped us get her through all of that and now shes pretty much perfect. (See picture for evidence). Since then, theyve always been helpful if I call in with an overly-concerned-dog-mom question and I really appreciate it. I feel like they actually care about the animals and arent solely interested in making money. Im glad we found them.
