Walmart Supercenter in other cities:
This wal mart is supposed to be open for customers to shop til 11 pm. However, if you try to shop after 7pm the isles are full of pallets, employees, and merchandise. You can not get any help from the associates and you can not get down most of the isles in the grocery section, especially not with a cart. Its ridiculous. Some of us dont have any other time we can shop. And if you go in after 10pm you feel like the are literally blocking isles to get you to leave earlier.
They had nothing I needed! It was terrible and everyone I talked to said the same thing! They had no chicken on the shelves and and the shelves where practically bare. I almost got run over by a boy restocking!! It had me worried what if he hit a kid with the pallet Jack it’s just crazy!
IM done with this store. Several times I chose something for purchase only to find out that it was mismarked. When I brought it to the attention of the self checkout person, she got snotty, never offered to fix it or look in the place where I got the item. SERIOUSLY...LABEL THE PRICES CORRECTLY!!!
Im only giving 3 stars because some of the workers there are really nice and we enjoy talking with them. Now the downside of this location is theyre probably understaffed because I rarely can get ahold of anyone in store over the phone. Also they tend to have a small selection of items or completely put of stock constantly. Also unfortunately the in stock feature is sometimes unreliable. Of course we will continue to shop here as its our local Walmart but it still leaves much to be desired!I wish I could list the names of all the awesome workers though!
I moved to Athens a year ago and this Walmart is one of the worst I’ve ever been to. I shopped at the Plano location on Coit Rd for years and loved it. The Athens location has a dirty parking lot, there are people asking you for money in the parking lot which makes me feel very unsafe. The produce department has a terrible layout. The overall experience not good. I dread going in there. I often go to Dollar General to avoid this store.
They have an item discounted and placed the clearence section of Walmart. When I went to go check out, the cashier lady had explained those shoes arent for those priced and shouldnt be in clearence section even thought there was several. The cashier continued to scratch off the clearence sticker and wanted me to pay the difference price just because she said so, I told her that in its self is fraudulent and she cant just go and take discount price tags off because she thinks something different.. she said she call me d in a manager but one never came and I didnt have time to site and wait and thats what they bank on......Im very very disappointed in, Athens Texas Walmart!!! I dont understand What store do this, but I wish people would speak up if there done wrong because nothings going to be done otherwise...This is the second time some had happened at this store and the other thing is beyond horrible. Hope yall have had better experiences.. have a good day!!
I was there to get a reasonably price gift for a friends babys birthday and I did it all under 20$. An outfit, a toy, bag and tissue paper! The outfits I saw for small chidren are as cute as name brands and I was very pleased! Thanks Wal-Mart for all you do for ur customers!!
Im downgrading Walmart to 1 star. I am usually a big Walmart fan but since this Covid they cut services, understandablely. But after 2 years the rest of the world has resumed normal operations, at least the new normal. Wal Mart seems stuck on day 1. Still stuck on pandemic operating hours, so they can clean & sanitize. Dont try to push a buggy around inside the store after 9pm. Thats when the stocking the shelves occurs. Pallets block your path everywhere you turn, if you can even turn. It is complete chaos. If you do have to go in after 9 pm dont take a cart, just a hand basket. Its like the early black Friday days, except its associates and pallet obstacles. So, my solution, at least I thought, was to go early in the morning before work. Not much better, still quite a bit of activities going on with frantic associates trying to rush before the store managers arrival and the vendors doing their shelving and so on. It just aint what it used to be.
The Athens store is getting worse and worse. It has been going down hill for quite some time now. They are always out of the most common items. Only one checker @ 4:30 on a Thursday afternoon. Line was curving out into the main aisle. Other Walmart stores close to Athens are better. Beginning to shop elsewhere.
As usual I was able to into Walmart and find exactly what I came in for, I have never gotten any bad visits at this store. I treat people the way I want to be treated, and I guess that good vibe emits from me, I will be changing the town and Walmart this week because Im moving. Ill be using the Walmart in Athens, TX.
Rude customer service. At the front door I ask if the electric cart was working and the response was you will have to check it out yourself to be see if it works or not.I ask an employee if they knew where coffee mugs were. The response was look down this aisle it might be there and she left. But I must say they are usually very friendly and helpful. Everything else was Hunky Dory.
This store is very disorganized. It seems like they are always out of basic items. The staff is rude and the management is even ruder. Management treats their employees horribly... in front of customers. Deli is always dirty looking and out of food. I’d much rather make the drive to Gun Barrel City or Tyler than make the walking distance to this Walmart.
Cashier handed me my receipt and said thank you, I waited, she just stood there looking at me with drawer open! I said what about my cash, she reaches into drawer finally to get my cash back and says you should always trust your cashierReally, you stand there not handing me my cash to see if I will leave and forget it.
I was dismayed today to see this Walmart was letting customers come in without masks. The store was busy and at least half the people were maskless. I felt very unsafe and left the store as quickly as possible. Does Walmart not care about the safety of their customers and employees?
New layout is kinda nice but the employees are less help than they have ever been. Samantha and Randy working tonight were to busy with their conversation to even help me get an item unlocked. But then again I already run the register myself as well so come to think of it yall gonna have to start paying me sheesh...
Went to get my tire fixed and not even 10 miles down the road my light was on to check my tire pressure and it was going back down so i stopped to get air and i had to put my donut back on again and now my tire has some kind of liquid in it it wasnt in there this morning when I took it in there so back again in the morning to figure out what is wrong with it
To claim to have the safety of your customers a high priority, why do you have only 3 checkout lines with cashiers open. Those 3 lanes are the only available way a cash paying customer is able to checkout. All of the self check-outs only accept card as payment. Stood in a line just an hour ago for over 20 minutes. Stood there waiting long enough that I left without purchasing anything. Left my buggy sitting right where I was stuck standing.
I had and still have an issue with the person that was working at the pharmacy tonight. She was rude, she argued with me and refused to hear what I had to say as well as refused to look at the coupon I was trying to use from goodrx. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with her behavior and I WILL BE contacting the home office about the matter.
Walmart overall could add some type of vining greenery above on the ceiling. The florescent Walmart matrix really bums me out sometimes. Also, you could tell the workers manning the self checkout lines to quit breathing down my neck while to steal overpriced fresh produce
Generally good priced products. Not as much of a selection of products as the next nearest Supercenter in GBC. The store associates are friendly and helpful. The store is clean and usually well stocked. The main reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of selection of products. For instance, vacuum cleaners, I went in the store in need of a new household vacuum cleaner and the choices were few and I didnt find what I wanted so I went to the GBC store and was amazed how they had so many more different choices of brands and price ranges.. I found what we wanted without having to compromise our expectations due to smaller selection. So then I began noticing that it was the same with other products, coffee makers, electronics, tires, etc. Also, I began noticing how each store varied the way they clearence items. Athens seems to reduce at a slower pace compared to the other store near me that seems to cut to 50% off to begin whereas Athens only drops a smaller percentage off initially. So for end of season clearence shopping, like in the fall when summer lawn & garden merchandise begins to be replaced by winter & Christmas merchandise.
Had to give a rating. They should put negative stars. Im so disappointed. I did my shopping and went to get paint. I had to go to pharmacy to have someone paged. I waited patiently and no one came. I then went to gun department and had them page, associate passed by and they paged, went to the fitting room and had them page. A customer was so nice to go again to pharmacy and to customer service and yet no one came. I even called on the phone that was located by the paint department 3 times and requested a manager. Finally an assistant manager came an said he was busy in the back with some other stuff and was unable to assist me. Point of the story is some one could have came and said their was no one available in paint and to please come back another day not the BS I got. After all that still had to back to groceries to get fresh food as to my produce was room temperature and frozen food was thawed out.😠😤👿👿👿 Worst experience ever!!
Pick up order, they did not have 1/4 what I ordered, and it was 22 hour fill time. Slack was given due to the holiday, but I would have been better off just going to the local grocery, and I had to anyway after my order was shorted. Ps. Dont ever let them pick your fresh vegetables, that was a joke.
Walmart is always busy but during this time of social distancing today was the absolutely worst experience. I had to go in for one item over in hardware but those doors were closed so all the way down to the other end of the building and people all over each other everywhere. No one respecting space for another, not even the employees. One employee said Gun Barrel City was limiting people so many came here. Good idea! I tell you folks once you get inside it is like sardines. I told a friend as careful as I have been if I get the virus I know when and where. At least other businesses are trying to orchestrate some safety’s measures. Not Walmart in Athens, TX. Insane- don’t risk it people! They don’t care.
Well before the virus it was definitely a better place a better store. A better time. Now its kinda all shook up . like what you would imagine a mining town in history that boomed and then ran out but not over night yet that moment when its becoming a reality and those aware know its to be.
Disappointed that the clearance plants are never marked. Took a plant from the roller carts with other half dead plants on them it was just sitting in pot with no soil went in asked how much it was and was told it was $9. Most of the people in that area are nice and helpful with the exception of one lady. She never greets you, you can say hi she doesnt respond, never see her smile, and shes never been friendly at check out.
The associate that worked in the pickup department, and the employees in apparel were great. I had a question about a product in the electronics department. I found two cases on the clearance shelf both the same brand, made for an iPhone one had a American flag, the other had a subdued American flag. One was marked $4.00 the other didnt have a price on it. The associate leaning against the cabinet close by watched me approach and rolled his eyes as I walked up. I asked about the price on the one that didnt have a sticker on it. He flipped it over showed me a sticker that had letters and numbers on it and said It says right here that it is 15.45. His tone implied that I must be an idiot. The tag where he indicated showed 0001545ABC or something like that on it. I showed him the other case that had a sticker clearly marked $4.00, I asked him why the difference he said he didnt know. I asked if I could speak to a manager or someone who might be able to explain the difference to me. He told me he wasnt going to call anyone. He finally said would you like me to show you on the register? I said OK. One rang up 15.45 and the other 4 dollars I said OK. I really dont understand why they are sitting side by side 2 stacks of them marked clearance with one price so different from the other. He again rolled his eyes sighed and asked if I would like to purchase them. I walked off because the dude was acting like he really needed to taught a little respect. I had my 2 little girls with me. I was almost at a loss for words. I said yes sir, no sir spoke politely, I didnt yell or insist on a discount. I have never been treated like that before. I dont think that the situation even called for it. Another associate explained to me that one was discontinued and the other was a regular item and should not have been on the clearance shelf. She apologized for the confusion. I said thanks and purchased the 4 dollar case. I liked the subdued one better, it reminded me of my military days, but I didnt like it 11 dollars more. That was all I needed to know. The man could have told me that instead he was confrontational and rude. I didnt have time to get his name or hunt down a manager, but I will not be shopping at that store again.
I couldnt use the the fast check out with cash. I do not like that and there is no change shortage. And the owners of Wal-Mart are democrats. I will not be spending my money there till they fix the express lanes for cash. And further more I cant use my phone in there cause yall block it. I do not agree with WALMART getting a way to get through my phone with out my permission. Otherwise how did you have my number to text dumb survey to me. I know cause wallmart got my number when I tried to text home to see if I needed more things and was blocked. That should be against the law.
The greeter at the front door on the pharmacy side is almost the rudest lady Ive ever encountered. Ive said hello, with a smile everytime I walk in there and she has never said a word. I also asked her a question one day and her response was rude too. I went in there with a return one day and she huffed and puffed the whole time. SO RUDE!!!! The lady i dealt with at customer service desk for the return the same day was awful too. Its the only walmart within miles and I love how convenient it is but some of the employees need a refresher course on how to treat people.
The employees are very rude and not knowledgeable about the products that they have in the store. Also the management is the worst for profiling people who are not doing anything wrong and making them feel so uncomfortable and unwelcoming. If I was able to do my shopping somewhere else I would. Ive honestly been thinking about starting to do the bulk of my purchases online and not with Walmart. Another thing is that this store never has the things I want or need when I go. In my opinion its the worst store Ive ever had to shop at and I dont think that I would recommend it for other shoppers
I work inside this store not for Walmart but insi6the store never the less.. I have enjoyed visiting and getting to know the coworkers of the store. It has been a trying time since this store is getting a remodel. Were I work we have been very accommodating not complaining to everyone and all but the remodeling crew has no regards to ather businesses in this store. Total lack of respect. They leave stuff all over the place for us to clean up like oh well deal with it. Very unprofessional. This was brought up to management and we were treated like Dirk. Was told just deal with it. Thats all part of the remodel. Very nasty.
Better stocking than Brookshires and Customer service so much better. So glad I once had a talk with Mr. Wallton before he died. Did my college business thesis about him. No doubt hes turning in his grave. Though , caught a few gals that went beyond most and I appreciate that. Helped me order stock online they didnt carry in store. Shipping fast.
The store it’s self not to bad. But the service department on the other hand is horrible!!!Plane and simple. The guys they have working on your cars are the slowest people I have ever seen. I got there at 5pm with 2 cars in front of me one with an oil change and one with a flat repair. At 7pm they pulled mine in to start on a flat repair. REALLY 2 hours to do an oil change and fix a flat???? Somebody please fire these guys and hire some people that know what the heck they are doing. Ps. 8pm I finally got to go home!
Each one of those self checkout lines represent lost jobs. As an former employee I can tell you that all they care about is keeping their shareholders happy and the bottom line. The grocery pickers are told that they have to pick 100items an hour or risk getting into trouble. Imagine being under that pressure and you still have to stop and help the customer. Technically they are supposed to interact with everyone that comes withen ten steps of them. Sams club is no better. The people themselves are fine people, its corporate that is greedy.
Look like this is an older store that needs some detailed cleaning or replacements with the tiles that are around the frozen bunkers and end caps. Also needs better zoning. I find a lot of product misplaced on shelves. The employee could have a better attitude towards the customers and not let their job distract them from customer service, 10ft rule needs to be better enforced.
The new self check outs would be great if they would accept WIC but they don’t so you have to wait in a long line at one of the very few registers that actually has a clerk to check you out. Last I checked I don’t get a pay check from Walmart for checking myself out and bagging everything. However the self check out has always been faster since they have lots of registers that are NEVER open because they don’t have enough cashiers working during busy times.
I have never in my life been treated with such disturbing and appalling behavior from not only the lower employees but also what Im even more unbelievably alarming is the way that the management and assistant management talk, treat, and profile alot of their customers. If there was more of a verity of places to shop I would not go back ever in my life.
It would be extremely helpful if all of the merchandise isle had signs like the grocery department has i.e drug, personal, hardware, automotive departments.Update 11/03/21: Now that they have online orders, the order pullers are running amuck trying to pull these orders. Its as if the customers that are shopping in person are in the way & a inconvenience for them. The pullers with their oversized order carts block the isles and careen around corners. Frequently 2 will stop and start talking to each other blocking the way.I realize that this stores volume of sales has increased with the Pandemic and hats off to their stockers. But sometimes trying to get from Grocery dept to the dry goods parts of the store is difficult.
I recently moved back home to Athens and I have found the shopping experience at Walmart to be less than expected. Out of six trips to this Walmart I have left six times without items on my list either because this store does not carry the item( surprisingly) or because the item is out on the shelf. Not to mention the bizarre placement of some items.
This store has been out of stock for men’s winter wear such as cloves and sweat pants for weeks. I have been here at least 8 times in the past month and a half and no luck. Nicotine patches in the pharmacy either. They need to definitely improve their inventory/shipments received. Otherwise the grocery department and sporting goods department are decent, I do most of my household shopping here.
The past few years things have really changed for this franchise and not for the better in my opinion. I dont know who is in charge of the redesigning, and revamping of the stores but they shouldnt give up their day job. Now I fully understand that a business has to change with its demographic but things have really gotten out of hand to say the least. First off, they are changing what made the store unique. They got rid of layaway and their excuse was that people were buying gift cards more. Problem with that is not everyone has the money to put down in a card. Layaway was a great department for those who were struggling with finances. Now dont get me wrong Walmart does bring layaway back around the holidays, but what about birthdays, and anniversaries, those who wish to buy school clothes. Yes I know there are the tax free days, but not everybody has the money at around that time. Now fast forward to today. Who in their right mind decided to get rid of most of the checkouts? And what in the world made you think that we wanted to check ourselves out? Checking myself out after my hectic, and all be it strenuous day is not even on my list, I want to shop, check out, and get home as quickly as possible. Now they are restructuring their floor. As if their stores were not confusing enough to navigate, now you have hunt down your items that you want. Now lastly, you have rid your stores of the price match guarantee. My question is this. How do I know for a fact that Im getting a great deal on an item at your stores? This is what made walmart the industry leader in retail. Honestly its like the executives are trying to kill off your stores. Every day I find another reason not to bring my business to walmart.
Placed an online order on Tue morning and chose the pickup time of 4-5 pm. Received notification at 4 pm that they were busier than normal, so they hadnt gotten the order pulled yet. At 5:15, we received notification that the order was ready, however, it was 6-6:15 pm before they brought the delivery out to our vehicle. This is UNACCEPTABLE! There is a reason why people place online orders, and especially now, due to COVID-19, and when youre only given 3 different time slots to choose from to begin with, and having to place the order 24 hours in advance (if not more), the orders should be pulled when the order comes across, and kept in the coolers until the customer arrives. Also, it shows things in stock when orders are placed, and then when you get there to pick up the order, its not in stock, and then theres things that show out of stock online that are actually in stock inside the stores. Not everyone likes going inside the stores right now, with this COVID-19. In fact, the stores should lock their doors and make it mandatory that ALL orders be placed online. Just my opinion.
Nice Store, conveniently located. Friendly Staff. Staff helpful. Now that theyve installed all 20 Self Check out lines, theres maybe 2 or 3 checkers only, if youre lucky to get checked out. Big mistake Walmart!. There is Help for the elderly and disabled when needed.
This store in Athens,Tex would be a super store,if they would hire enough help to operate it properlyNot enough cashers is bad enough. But I parked halfway to the store, because no HC spots and when walked to HC parking there was 6 HC carts setting all over the lot .I rode one in and told the door greeter and she informed me that they only have one buggy person to get them.when I left the store they were still scattered all overThis is a shame as the other door had HC people waiting for one to do their shopping and a store fuull of supervisors standing around
Its ok but I havent been impressed with the prices on what I need. They are Always out of stuff these last months that I buy every month. Their product if diabetic test strips called Reli On have been, for me, unreliable as 20% of the strips went blank and unusable!!! I can get cheaper and prettier clothes at Catos!
This is your average walmart. The workers usually arent rude but do not appear to want to work there and Im not surprised. They will help you if you flag them down. The store isnt messy but not super clean. Most of the time they have what you need and a few alternatives. Its crowded during daytime and weekends because there isnt very many places to go in Athens. My biggest complaint would be that the isles are too narrow and sometimes you cant find the price of things. Be prepared to say excuse me at least a million times. But most everything is worth the price.
While eating at Subway, I observed a member of upper level management chastise a door greeter. She had taken a couple of steps away from the door to grab a sip of water. Temp was near 100. At no time was she unable to do her job. Again, as I was leaving from lawn and garden, a member of management couldnt find one of her staff. Loud enough for all customers to hear stated, she just disappears. Made other disparaging remarks about that employee. Maybe if the same respect was afforded to lower level employees they would stay around. Names were Jacob and Tobie. Just dont see how that type of behavior is rewarded. Should start at the top.
I have to driveabout 25 miles to get there! The staff are always friendly!Prices are better than a grocery chain or convinent store. I Love Wal-Mart! But they dont carry some itemsI buy at a Tyler store! They have a very good selection ofproduce and great prices! I am so glad to have a Wal-Mart Supercenter to goto without going to Tyler! The waiting lines are less & you can also ccheckout easily by yourself! Always a friendlyEmployee to help if needed!
Always out of things we need. Asked for a wine product and was told by an assistant Mgr. that they were out, but a vendor told us that there was plenty in the back room and brought us two that we wanted.Employees are always stocking and facing during busy times and cause congestion and block needed items from customers. We try to shop at other options. They dont lie to us there.
I just left Walmart here in Athens texas & Id like to say how much care & concern this certain lady working at the customer service desk had with helping me with a issue i was having with a gift card. I asked her name & she said it was Cathy, I wish I had of gotten her last name. She really made my day because Ive asked several other employees there to help me with that gift card and I guess they thought it was too problematic for them to take time to figure it out because they ended up telling me there was nothing they could do for that issue... Well Cathy knew what to do bc she took the time to figure it out!!!!! Thank you Cathy!!!! Your awesome and If i were your boss Id give you a promotion & a big raise bc you DEFINITELY deserve it!!!!!😀
Rudest employees in all of the Wal-Marts Ive been to in 11 different states. I was told to leave lawn & garden area at 7:02 p.m. tonight by Jesus because he was closing down the area & it was after 7:00. I was there for 20 minutes looking at them. I had choosen the bike that I was going to purchase & he told me I was done & to leave. I did. Still have my $140.00 to spend somewhere else.Dark haired lady in customer service is rude on every occasion I went up to customer service during summer after I had just moved to Athens. I wont go near customer service if shes working there.I hate living in a town that people treat people that way. Im not mean or rude to any of the employees but I have heard several employees rude to customers. Whom, not one of them deserved to be treated that way. Its a shame that that Walmart allows there employees to disrespect fellow human beings.GBC Wal-Mart completly the opposite. Every single employee there is nice, helpful & not ever rude. Ill make the drive after tonights confrontation from Jesus.
Saw a HUGE rat under meat cooler ,running for the chip isle. No one seemed to care .I returned something at the return desk one time and received a merchandise card.Shopped a while for food etc and I got to chekout and guess what/,No money on card. The girl behind the counter had a scam going.Keep all receipts !! managers didnt hear from loss prevention,so it took me over a week to get my money back..
This review is for the Primo DIY water refill service. Prices not posted. No bottle covers. No way to pay because no ticket dispensed. Ended up exchanging bottles for twice the cost. Staff clueless. Ironically, the Primo pump we bought requires that you remove the entire cap, which you have to destroy to get off. Suggesting name change: Segundo.
The worst place ever Athens Texas Walmart they think every body thats Black African American steals. Been shopping there all my life. I am a very loyal customer Love using their salon to get my hair done. The nice lady does a marvelous job with my hair. I own a business and work as a nurse every time. Im Shopping the worker constantly asking me maam may I help you not the mention the whole time scan & record H And G. Ive been shopping there for years. Pretty much know what Im going after. My Persona is tight clothes but very appropriate to wear. I carry a wrist purse with only my credit card, ID and cash.
Its where everyone goes in Athens for a one stop and shop for everything..from groceries to automotive parts and oil changes..tires and alignments..also phones to phone cards. Clothing at great prices and even school uniforms. Any household appliances to decor for house. Great prices and savings!
Went to the automotive entrance to see about getting a flat tire repaired. I stood in line for 20 minutes to talk to an employee who ended up being totally clueless. I went somewhere else for service. I would highly recommend AVOIDING this Walmart for any manner of auto service.
Cashier at jewelry counter spent 10 mins paging for a manager. I went to find a manager and the CSM wouldnt come help she just said she would send someone. So i called the store AS I AM STILL AT THE COUNTER and was on hold for almost 10 mins b4 i was told no manager was available because they were at the jewelry counter helping a customer! What the hell? The one that finally showed up didnt do anything and didnt even apologise!
Absolutely hate the Athens Walmart. Isles are to small and its arranged so differently from most Walmarts. So hard to find anything in this store. They were stocking shelves during the day instead of overnight like most Walmarts do and it makes it so hard to get down the isles since they are already so cramped. I would not recommend going to this Walmart unless you just absolutely have to.
I hate the new design lay out of our WalMart Store you cant find what you are looking for and if you ask an employee that works that area they dont know either. Or they tell you over in another dept. NOT there either. I just want to scream after going in there to shop. Sorry. you asked i told you the truth
I wanted to thank the manager, security officers, and employees who were at work on the evening of Saturday, July 13. I thought that I had put my purse on the floor and lost it or that it had been stolen. In reality it was in the car. However, during the 20 minutes or so that I thought it was lost, they put all hands on deck to help me find the missing purse. Great job, Walmart in Athens, TX. I really appreciate the concern that you showed a customer!!
Can everyone exclaim, “JUDY WITH AN ‘I’!” My cousin and I were dragged to the store by her parents at the last minute & she was about to lose it trying to find everything she needed. She ran into Judi in one of the aisles & asked her to help find the rest of the items. Without hesitation, Judi was on it!! Between taking phone calls from her parents and trying to reign in her 3 kids, Judi, waited patiently until we crossed everything off our list. Judi was a lifesaver in the midst of chaos & confusion. I wish everyone would have the level of customer service as she does. Thanks, Judi🤗
Sucks, never has registers open. Shelf are mostly empty. There is so many rolls blocked by workers cleaning. It is so cluttered that you really cant shop. Then it takes at least 40mimutes to get checked out. I havent drive to Gun Barrel or Tyler to get the stuff I need.
I guess the folks at Walmart online order think we are stupid. I ordered 4 doz Jumbo and noticed when I was putting them up 2 of the cartons were much lighter than the others and just figured maybe some broken or missing from those two, but tonight I decided to prep for my 4th July dishes and boil my eggs. This is what I discovered in 2 of the 4 cartons. I ordered Jumbo, not because they were on sale, but because it takes less for my potato salad. I let it slide a couple months ago when they gave me a poblano pepper in place of Jalepeno, but this is ridiculous and I specified no substitutions, yet when order is picked up they said there was a substitution for the salmon I ordered. How are you going to substitute an item when specifically said no to all substitutions. Love the convenience and having a total as I go, but Brookshires does a great job and you can reserve same day pick up with no minimum order. Guess Walmart workers think after we get home we wont bother with it and the boss will never find out. Wrong! Not this time.I have pics. But not sure how to dhare them in this review. 14 out of 48 are non-jumbo.
I went in to buy a girls 12 in bicycle they had 4 on the rack and all 4 of them either where broken and tore up or missing parts. The manager of the dept wwnt to check and see if she had any in the back and all she cld find is 1 in a box. I asked if someone cld put it together but she stated she had no one working today that cld put it together. I decided to buy it anyways. Well when she brought it out she showed me on the box where it says easy assembly no tools required. If thats the case why cldnt someone or even herself put it together. Customer service and satisfaction is no concern of Walmart anymore. I try not to even go in anymore. Cut backs to pinch money but doing so also causes customers to not wanna do business with them anymore. What ever happened to Sam Waltons dream? No one even knows anything about the departments they work in. I worked for Walmart back in 1992 and 1993 we had to know the whole store front and back.

2022-02-12I dont generally shop at Walmart its honestly a stressful environment and not the vibe Im looking for 👽 but this Walmart may have just changed my mind it was super easy I was in and out got everything I wanted very quickly I did self-checkout and was out in a jiffy I recommend here if you need to get in and out quickly not too many screaming children but definitely a couple could be worse 🤠

2022-02-03The Walmart in Athens is very understanding! We bought the wrong card for our phone and come to find out once you scratch off the back it is non-refundable but they understood because we were given the wrong information about the card in the first place. The manager was able to refund us our money so we could buy the right card which shows how will they treat their customers, especially their loyal customers! The return center was very kind and understanding and we are very happy that we were able to get our money back and by the right card! Customer care is number one when it comes to Walmart in Athens Texas!

2022-04-19I drive extra to come to this Walmart, better selection and better experience. I do not even bother with the location closest to me. The clearance isn’t really clearance at this store its still nearly full price. Grocery is a bit limited especially for the international section, at the minimum I would have expected some curry paste but alas it’s not carried… prices are higher here than in Dallas area but that’s to be expected in such a limited area

2022-01-03Even the vendors hate delivering to this store, its that bad, note.the door greeters are the absolute best, maybe Walmart should promote them, HAY!!!!Walmart pay people more money, (Athens needs more money for the best people at Walmart),The most valuable asset in your store is your cashiers they are the realSTARS, They help customers, prevent theft, hunt down prices, the list goes on and on, see I am not negative I just want Bentonville to refresh management, csm , and there customer service manager and get off the cheep wages, love Walmart,13 seniors waiting in line one lonely cashier so sad so very 😔 😟, Update:Walmart manager said he would discuss why all those csm are up front and only one cashier, I was so afraid that one of the elders were. Going to pass out from exhausting line waiting, then Walmart would really have problems, our seniors should not suffer at the hand of lazy people, Local community leaders need to set down and discuss this pathetic behavior with Walmart,pS,photo never lie

2022-06-27Athens Walmart vs Gun Barrel City’s Walmart. Athens Gluten Free Selection is waaaaaay better, so based on the area and my choices between the two Walmarts, they win!Still no frozen Gluten Free Pizzas, so they only get 🙂🙂🙂🙂🫥.

2022-01-04I’d like to personally thank whoever was the night manager on January 3rd 2022 because thanks to you my 2 month old daughter went without food all night because you wanted to pull your till early and tell my husband “it’s not your problem” and “ I don’t have time for that”. What else do you have to do??!!! Also I’d like to add that you were out of company dress code because you had your name tag on your shirt and hidden by your vest, also NEVER pull your till until the last customer leaves the store that way NOBOY ROBS YOU!!!!! That is a cardinal rule I sincerely hope Walmart fires you for your rude behavior and utter lack of competence. Finally I’d like Walmart to know that she instructed those working beneath her to lock the doors so my husband could not reenter the building after he left WILLINGLY and that at this time THERE WERE OTHER CUSTOMERS USING THE SELF CHECK OUT which is a big no no to lock customers in the store. Thank you very much and I hope that this lady gets fired!!!!!

2022-01-01Simple math.If the item is on sale @ 75%And the price is 15.97.The new price is 4.00.Not 7.00.The 3$ didnt bother near as much as deal with a young person that couldnt do mathematics. So its true, Walmart will hire anyone. And now I have to check out myself, and when there is a problem the flunky on their phone becomes rude, because you making them work.WTH has the world come to.I saw 2 different people committing theftI just kept walking. Because the employees are so worried about their phones they cant see much...I already have to check myself out Im not going to report thefts also...Athens Walmart is the worst

2022-02-19This is the absolute worst Walmart I’ve ever been to in the entire country! Me and my wife just got cussed at by the buggy pusher for not taking the buggy that was full of trash. Then he wants to get into a cussing match with me when jumped his a$& for 1 talking to my wife like that and 2 not doing his job. I do not nor have I ever worked at Walmart so no it is not my or my wife’s job to clean out the buggies. This is the 3rd time in a week we’ve been into this Walmart and every time in here we have been met with disgruntled employees with horrible attitudes. I will never shop at this store again and continue to spread the word to everyone who will listen about this Walmart!

2019-11-24In the past few months Ive gone to this store multiple times and they where out of the thing I needed. Once or twice is understandable. Out of things like milk and eggs is poor management. Tonight I went in for T50 staples. Online it says available for pickup. In the store, empty shelves. Its not that they just didnt have the kind I needed. They were out of staples period. All types and sizes. In fact about a quarter of one of the hardware isles was empty. Im attaching pictures because its just that crazy. That being said, pick any isle in any department and its about the same. Its been bad for years but its only getting worse. How do other Walmart stores manage to keep their shelves stocked, but Athens cant? Please send inventory to the Athens Walmart. They need it desperately.
