They NEVEr pick up our trash or recycling. We constantly have to call because they don’t come out here. They always end up taking trash cans or recycling bins when they do come out. They took mine and told me well it’s gonna take 7-10 days to get a new one so I’ll have to just put my trash bags somewhere else. This has been the worst service and a joke for 8 months
I called in to get a quote for a roll off dumpster to clean out my garage. Selena was so nice, very knowledgeable, and made it easy for me to understand. Others I talked with when getting quotes did not take the time to talk about options and how things worked. I set up my residential service with Waste Connections and recommend this company!Thank you Selena!
We recently moved and your team member Natasha has it all and made moving better! She is professional, courteous, went above and beyond in helping us get service out here! She worked with dispatch so we could pick up our garbage can ourselves, called us back when she said she would and just was wonderful, congratulating us on our move etc! We have been using Waste Connections at our community center for several years. This year we needed to increase our dumpster pick ups from once to three times per week. With the help of my representative Selena Olvera It has been easy being a happy customer for almost a year now. With the company growing and me constantly making changes to my services Selena and her knowledge of her company is able to promptly get them taking care of. I cant say enough about the service we have received from Demetrius in NW Austin. He has served my neighborhood for a long while now and always goes above and beyond. Hes incredibly helpful and always has a smile. Hes always very careful and looks out for the little kiddos on our block who love to hear him give his horn a beep—including my toddler son who gets so much joy by seeing Demetriuss truck go by. When I called to confirm a few details about my account set up and ask a few clarifying questions, I spoke with Natashah who was extremely helpful. She was articulate, professional, and helped answer all of my (probably annoying) questions. She even sent a follow up email providing more details and color allowing me to self serve in the future. As someone who works in a business that depends heavily on front line employees to represent the company and manage call volume cost, I know first hand how valuable Natashahs work is to her company. My interaction with Natashah has made me a huge Wast Connections fan and I intend to always recommend this business!
While we were in search of a waste removal company that could handle all of are needs, with great fortune we were able to locate this company and not only could they meet our needs, but our rep Selena was by far the reason we went with the company. Karina, got all of our projects along with our construction dumpster pricing set up quickly and efficiently. She is super helpful and responsive. We have a site with multiple tenants whos businesses rely on these waste services. Karina and this company are reliable, we will be using them exclusivly going forward.

The quality of service and responsiveness is exceptional. My company owns and operates a commercial liquid waste processing facility in Austin and we currently use Waste Connections to haul and dispose of the separated solid waste waste from restaurants. The pricing is competitive and the drivers are professional. My rep, Karina Rosano, responds quickly and provides great customer support. There are several box haulers in Austin, but I strongly recommend Waste Connections for any hauling service.
Robert and Charles are THE BEST sanitation workers ever! My kids love trash pick up day because these two guys go above and beyond to say hi to them every week. They have really be a bright spot during this pandemic. We appreciate them soooo much!! Wish all people were like them.

So far I have had a great experience with Waste Connection! Best price I have found, and I’ve looked! Service is always on time and the woman I spork with to set up the service has been excellent! I’ve gotten a very genuine feel from them, like they aren’t some big cooperation and I’m just a number to them. So five stars for sure!

Operating in Austin is no easy task, but Waste Connections has the best solid waste professionals on staff to make everything run as smoothly as possible. I was referred to Karina through a mutual friend. Me and my husband where looking to clean up my uncles very large backyard that over the years has been a amassed with broken furniture and trash ect. We where looking into getting a rental dumpster for a day. When I spoke with Karina she was very patient and professional. She explained to me in detail the cost and the reasons behind them eg the proximity to the dump ect overall I was very pleased with her exemplary customer service. In the end we where able to connect with a business associate of my husbands and they where able with the help of a site trashdobus a favor and help with the removal for free. With money tight we went with that option but I wanted to make sure that under other circumstances on our interactions with Karina alone I will definitely recommend Karina your company to any friends in need of waste removal. Waste connections in Austin for our business is doing a great job. We are a broker and had to work through some issues but with each piece of the puzzle set into place we are smooth sailing. Many of our shops with AMM Collision center recently switched over our trash/recycle services over to Waste Connections and we couldnt be any happier. I’ve used this company for about 15 years at my home and for 5 years at my business and have always been happy with them. They will take a few extra bags if needed where other companies won’t. They’ve missed me a couple of times over the years but always send someone back that day or the next to make it right. I think the residential pricing is very competitive. The commercial pricing has gone up quite a bit since I first signed up but haven’t had time to check prices so it may be the norm. I do wish we had recycling where I live but it’s a little rural so I guess I just have to be patient. Hold times when calling in could be better. Overall a good company and I’m happy with them.
Sharing this because I wish I was informed on the deceptive business practices of Waste Connections prior to starting service with them. I am two years into my service with WC. I came across a better deal from a new company that would save us $600 a year for the same service. I reached out to cancel with the giant surprise that I could not cancel unless I paid $877.04 for early termination (6 months of service). I asked for the contract I didnt remember signing and I feel incredibly deceived. I never would have signed a contact authorizing a company to charge me whatever they want for five years. Attached are photos of the price we signed the contract for and what the rise came to only a year later, and screenshots of the contract outlining outrageous stipulations. Hopefully this helps someone not make the same mistake.- This company operates on a 5 year contract (60 months) something I have never come across. If you think phone companies lock you in youre in for areal treat with WC.- They also embed in their contract that they can legally up the prices without your consent and you are still forced to pay with no cap on how much the price can go up.Angry at myself for not reading more closely, and sad the company feels the need to take advantage of customers to make a profit.
Weve been using Waste Connections for a few years now the constantly miss pick ups for our trash and recycling its been two weeks since theyve come and picked up my recycling now. Ive been reassured this wont happen again then in a month guess what it happens again. they never call to fix the issue they just let it go until i reach out to them. they make a promise they are unwilling to keep.
This review is for my Waste Connection consultant, Alissa. As service has not started I will reserve that as another review but wanted to make sure Alissa got the recognition she deserves. First off she was always timely in all of her responses including responding to an email at 9:50pm one night. I was what I would describe as a little on the difficult side. We were trying to get trash and recycle dumpster service for our business that would serve our clients in the best possible way. Alissa came out several times and never once made me feel like I was being annoying, she was more then happy to facilitate our needs. She made this process very pleasant. I strongly believe she needs the recognition as she went above and beyond with professional, courteousness and an overall joy to work with. Again, thank you so much Alissa for not making this process a headache!!!

Karina helped us get things cleaned up quickly by getting us a roll-off dumpster immediately and getting us a second and third in timely manner. This is on top of our regular dumpster pickups which happen like clockwork and fare a better value than our previous provider.

Didn’t pick up our trash for 2 weeks. When we called they made excuses why they couldn’t pick it up even though the issue preventing them from picking it up was created by them. Kept saying they would resolve the issue and still have not. Kept lying to us saying they had come and again still haven’t come. Didn’t issue an apology or a refund for services not provided, just excuses. Might as well as take the trash to the dump yourself.
When the City of Manor changed our trash service to Waste Connections it was a total nightmare.! They didn’t inform us and when I called them they just gave me the number to “the trash people “ and that was it! I called Waste Connections and spoke with Senisa and she helped me with all of my questions and concerns. My trash cans were delivered on the date she told me they would be AND followed up to see if I was happy with my services. Big THANK YOU to Senisa and the guys who pick up my trash every Monday!
Same employee from this company urinates in public when picking up garbage. It happened twice in the last 6 months. First time contacted customer service and sent video. They promised it would be addressed. It happened again today with the same employee. I got a video of this event. This is unacceptable, unprofessional and shows lack of respect to others. This must stop now!!
Horrible service! -1 stars!! They bought out our previous provider, raised our rates $5, then sent a new notice of a NEW increase, and didn’t pickup all week. Like others, waited on hold for 23 minutes for a RUDE representative, then held 36 minutes when calling to cancel after dealing with the last act. We found a new local provider in Red Rock, they WELCOMED our new business.
Called last Wednesday because trash had not been picked up, rep. said she would have somebody by tomorrow. Now it is Saturday, May 30th, and trash cans still full. No completed service by Monday evening, June 1st, cancelling my service. I have been a satisfied customer since 2016. Your call, Waste Connection.
They keep skipping my house on trash pickup. Its been 3 times in the last couple months.The first time, I was admittedly rolling the can out as they came into my neighborhood. I gave them a friendly wave as they drove by and picked up my neighbors trash across the street. Im the last house on the street and on the outbound side of the only street out, so I was pretty annoyed when 30 mins later, they drove right past and didnt pick mine up. Whatever, I was late(ish) putting it out.A couple weeks later, I had the can out at 5:30 a.m. and they just didnt pick it up. Only had about half a bin, so I didnt worry about it.Another week or two goes by and now again, put the can out at 5:30, and they just flat out havent picked it up. My pickup day is Thursday. I called Friday morning to let them know it was missed because this time it was full and I really needed it emptied. The lady I talked to was nice enough and said shed send someone out to pick it up. She said it was early enough in the day that there was a chance theyd still get it that day, but that they have 36-48 hours to get it. It still wasnt picked up by Monday, so I called again. This time I was told its 24-48 business hours, which would mean Monday or Tuesday. Well, now its Tuesday, its been 48 business hours since my original call, and it still hasnt been picked up.Im now less than 48 business hours from my normal trash pickup day, so its basically pointless for them to make a special trip out now. This is the only utility I have to pay the same amount whether I get the benefit of it or not. Gas bill? Water bill? Electric bill? Didnt use our service as much this month? Cool, you get a cheaper bill. Trash pickup gets skipped multiple times? Nah, you still owe us the same whether we do our job or not.
Over 400$/month for a 6 yard trash and 4 yard recycle pickup once a week. Service has been fine except when you realize youve been over paying. Then your reps Eric Viele and Jessica Walker offer you contract extensions that will lower your monthly for a little while. Anywhere from 2 to 5 years extensions that give you immediate price drops of up to 145$/month. (This is probably an OK deal but it can increase in years 2 and up by 10%!) Since I have been over paying for the past 5 years I deserve a better price. Let me know WC.UPDATE: ERIC CAME IN AN HAS GOT MY RATE LOWERED TO INDUSTRY STANDARD NUMBERS. UPDATING TO 2 STARS SINCE IT TOOK A REVIEW TO GET THINGS MOVING BUT THEY FINALLY DID CHANGE. ERIC IS NEW TO THE COMPANY BUT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD ADDITION TO THE TEAM. VERY WILLING TO HELP HIS CUSTOMERS.

Miss picking up dumpster often and then get told it will be the next day and often its several days after. I actually had to call head quarters 2 times to get it picked up because I kept getting the run around. And when you call its like a 20-30min wait to speak to someone. Unfortunately we are under contract and if you read the fine print they make it impossible to get out of the contract!!! But as soon as out contract is up we are switching!!!
This week makes week 4 that they simply decided to stop picking up my recycling. Im still paying for this service, they pick up my trash, just not my recycling. I called in 3 weeks ago, the truck broke down, called in 2 weeks ago, the truck got a late start, but theyll pick it up, called yesterday to remind them that its recycling day, they assured me theyll pick it up, woke up this morning to a full recycling bin in my driveway, still, for the fourth week in a row. Im calling in to request a manager, but pretty soon, im going to dump my garbage in their parking lot at their headquarters if they dont get their sh*t together. Update: Ive been caller number 1 for about 25 minutes now. This company refuses to answer their phones. Also, I am highly suspect of any review that is higher than a 3 on this page.
We are extremely happy with the services provided by Waste Connections (WC) of Texas. Anthony is the local driver for WC and he goes out of his way to make sure that all of our recycled materials are picked up .. even when they do not fit in the recycle bin. It is obvious that he takes pride in his job ... thanks Anthony for doing a great job!!
I have been using waste connections for 3 years now and have had nothing but excellent service from the start. My garbage is always taken and bins are never left knocked over but right where i leave them . If you are in need of garbage disposal i highly recommend waste connections!

I have discontinued my service. I have notified them on line. I have notified them on the phone. I have notified them in writing. I have called them to straighten this out only to get a recording that I am “customer #25” on hold. I have received overdue notices after all this. I have received recorded calls that my bill is overdue after all this. Their level of service should be thrown in the trash!
Horrible service. They frequently miss your scheduled dumps and when you call to get them to come back out they only offer to return on your next service date. Meanwhile I have dumpster that are full and my service trucks have nowhere to unload garbage or recycling. This is the second missed pick up within one month.
We have had their service for four months now. We have not gone a single month that we do not have to call them because they have skipped our trash pick up at least one week of the month. Their recycle service is always on time. They say that they will discount off the missed weeks. Havent seen it yet. I would not recommend their trash service at all.
Missed pick ups. Driveway and Garage is on side of house and trash can must be placed at the end of the driveway. Driver continues to miss this pick up. It seems as if there is no accountability for this poor performance and lack of customer service. Management was very sympathetic and advised that they would address with the driver.
We have has been using this service for some time now and they never fail to get our cans taken care of. The driver pulls them from inside the gate and returns them each time without fail. He doesnt scatter them or leave them near the road.like Ive seen with other companies in our area. Thank you for your services.
Been a customer for 15 years and over last year they pick up my trash maybe 1 of 3 times as scheduled. I have to call most every time to tell them they failed to pick up. Trash sits out Thurs., Fri., Sat., Sun., Mon. Sometimes they pick up, often sits all week. I try and try to be patient but customer service is shut down all weekend and you can’t get a hold of a person. I swear they WANT me to drop their service. They are unbelievably frustrating and irresponsible. The Site manager in Johnson City is friendly but even she is frustrated by their continual failures. This company is out of control.
This company gets ZERO Stars Google. Make that a thing. They were horrible when they were IESI, they were terrible when they were Progressive. If you want to pay money to have stagnant weeks old trash and recycling on your property, and to get a litany of excuses from drivers, not to mention waiting in a hold queue 12 people deep whenever you call customer service, then this is the company for you. If you have to change your name 3 times in 5 years RED FLAGIf your looking through reviews and see 5 one stars and 1 five star, They are writing the 5 star reviews RED FLAG. RUN! Horrible company. I paid for new service a month ago and am still waiting for the 90 gallon commercial trash can I am paying $40 a month for. Will have to pay more money to cancel a service never received but worth it to stop wasting my time to get the issue of non service rectified.
Trash was not picked up so I called and was told to leave the can at the curb. 2 days later its still out there so I called again and they say that their GPS showed the truck on my street that day so there isnt anything they can do for me. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was hung up on after 17 minutes on hold. Unbelievable.
If I could give this company negative stars I would. WORST SERVICE EVER. They never pick up my recycling and often forget to pick up my trash. I have never payed my bill late and live in the middle of a neighborhood - there is no excuse. I have to call and wait on hold weekly just to remind them I need service at my house. WORST. WORST. WORST.
Worst company ever. They do not deserve one star. Our rural trash service sold out to them. Every week it’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not they’ll pick up our trash. And good luck getting anyone on the phone. We are currently looking for other options as are our neighbors.

I made a payment online on Friday Nov.9th and they claim that they just received it, therefore my trash was not picked. I was told that it would be picked up on next weekThen I was told that I could take it to a landfill..REALLY!!!THAT IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IS BS AND THEY DONT WANT MY SERVICE AND I WILL BE CHANGING!!!!

Im not sure how they remedied the issue internally, but Im thankful they have it straightened out currently.Hello Selena:I just wanted to touch base with you to tell yall thank you.Im not sure where the lines were crossed previously, but it seems that since you and I discussed our pick-up issues in March, weve consistently had pick-ups every Thursday.Im not having to be questioned by the owner about why the pick-up wasnt completed and Im not having to spend time calling to report a missed pick-up or, worse yet, having to email you about the issue.Whatever yall worked out, please keep it up. The boss is happy and yall have taken a burden off of my plate. 2022-03-28We signed up with what is now Waste Connections back in 2015. We didnt realized it at the time, and thats my fault, that we were signing a 5-year contract with an automatic, no reminder, renewal for another 5 years. We did not have any issues with the actual pickup service during these past 6 years. But when I received my first bill that was over $500, I had to start looking elsewhere. Our bills rose 38% in this last year, 76% over the past 3 years, and 177% since 2016. I found another local, reputable company that can provide the same service, 3 year contract with no increases, for half of my most recent bill from Waste Connections. Ill say again, I had no issues with the actual service. But I am very not pleased with the huge price increases over these past years while locked into a contract that I was not reminded was renewing. We ended up having to pay over $2500 in liquidated damages for breaking the contract, but we will still come out ahead after 10 months. Just not good customer service. Not at all.

2022-06-21Don’t waste your time with this scamming company. Quick to take your money within the first 30 minutes but will not service your trash. My trash was set on curb the night before the every service date. But no one came to pick it up.. kept being told “ we’re sorry we will be out next week”… Been waiting for my trash to be serviced for three weeks now! Canceled service… I guarantee they will show up on time to pick up their trash cans.

2022-04-22**Update**After speaking with multiple supervisors over the past few months, Waste connections has changed the schedule from 330-4 am pickup to 7 am. Im finally able to sleep through the night and although frustrated that this change literally took several months, grateful for a more reasonable pick up time.Original PostThis company picks up the garbage at 3 am on various days of the week. I have called customer service to request a more reasonable time. They told me that had several complaints, however they did nothing. The garbage man is super loud and its disrupting my quality of sleep/life. The company could do something about this, and they dont care.

2022-06-22Last week I received a notice that they would not pick up the bin because it was too heavy!!! Not overflowing, not even full, but too heavy! Only had household garbage in it. This week the trash wasn’t picked up either. What excuse this time???? Waiting to hear. Just heard, NOT ON ThEIR ROUTE SHEET! So I have paid for trash collection but the trash collectors did not know I am on their route. Unbelievable!!!!Takes ten minutes on hold to even get a human. Tried to use website but the AI only accepts limited issues and trash not being collected was not one of them. Trash collection AI does not deal with trash collection issues. I am flabbergasted.

2022-06-15Always late, erratic pickup times, and the loaders who pick up the bins literally toss them in the middle of my driveway. Oh did I mention they raise the rates without notifying clients, so bill pays don’t meet the payment necessary and they just cut off your service. Such a frustrating company to do business with.

2022-07-18Still waiting for my July 13 trash to be picked. Was not picked up and was told would be picked the next day July 14. I expect a 10.00 refund for the missed pickup. I’m am handicapped and have you sign clearly install for you to come down the driveway and get the can and put the can back in front of the garage door. This is the second time you have missed my pickup.

2022-06-07Our current driver is amazing. A trash can spilled over because of wind. He tracked down every piece of trash, wrangled it all back into the can and cleaned up the street. Awesome job!

2022-03-18Not the first time they have not picked up our trash or recycling. I called because trash was picked up but recycling was not. I called and was told they reviewed on camera that my recycling was not out on time. Obviously they are not going to share that information with me. I would not waste my time calling them if I did not put my recycling out on time. They are trying to save a buck instead of taking care of a customer. I will now start shopping for a new service.
