It looks a bit messy at first and in some areas in the back, BUT when you get a closer look, theres a lot growing there! I was just checking the place out and an older gentleman was kind enough to explain how the garden runs. $6/month, free good-quality fertilizer, and great advice from experienced master gardeners. Some of the plots are overgrown, while others are very organized. Each has its own unique flair, growing whatever the owner likes. In the far back, Im told is land used by the Plant It Forward initiative.I took off one star for cleanliness in some areas. But honestly, it seems like an amazing place and opportunity for people to learn and grow and develop their gardening skills. And judging by the gentleman I spoke with and the personality of each plot, it seems like a great place. Good vibes.

You must visit this beautiful garden now. The tomatoes, squash, peas and artichoke and many other plants are at their glorious best now. May 2021.

Visited for the first time, they had a flower sale. I ended up with a bouquet of Moulin rouge sunflowers-so velvety smooth. They had a nice selection of summer veggies, I got spinach, white eggplant, tomatoes and Korean melon. All were fresh and affordable. The grounds are well kept and gave me plenty of ideas for my own garden.

Bought healthy home grown veggies from these guys. They are from Africa, and they grow all types of veggies and fruits, by hand. No chemicals added. Worth your time and money

I love that Westbury has a community garden! I dont have room or enough sun in my own yard so the raised allotment beds are perfect for me. Plus everything is organic! There are many master gardeners who share their knowledge. Its fun to meet neighbors who also like to garden and work on projects together.

The Westbury Community Garden provides me with yard space that I dont have living in an apartment building. I have learned so much from the other gardeners. We have seed planning parties, monthly meetings with talks about planting, and fun parties at the garden to taste and share all our food. The neighboring farmers now offer a weekly farmers market on Saturdays 9-5 and Sundays 10-6, and offer a weekly farm share program if you want a basket of veggies every week. Everything is organically grown. The garden is still growing with a beautiful orchard, perennial gardens, and now a tree program to grow trees to be planted around the city. This is a wonderful group to be a part of for everyone from young to old, families, individuals, or groups who want to take part in gardening. We also host volunteers and Girl and Boy Scouts.
