Westlake Ace Hardware in other cities:
A much larger Ace then the ones near my location...ample parking available. Walked in and was immediately greeted. A gentleman by the name of M. Aikman listened to my particular issue and hand a replacement part in my hands in less than 10 minutes. There was no judgement on my novice questions..he just simply got me the parts and asked of there was anything else he could do for me...I checked out and was on my way. A 16$ part probably saved me 2-300$ worth of plumber services. Couldnt have had a better experience. Thank you Ace Hardware!!
Mask not required! Everyone was so awesome, and helpful. Literally helped me find everything I needed and even ordered something for me when they were out such a nice store. Even opened another register when they saw the line growing too a third person. All around great would prefer to go there then most other places.
I miss the days of being greeted when I walk into a hardware store and being asked if I need assistance. This place does just that! They also remind you to have a nice day upon completing your transaction and departing the store. Is that too much to ask? I live right next to Lowes & Home Depot but I would rather drive to another town than deal with these corporate conglomeration anymore. I got exactly what I needed and could not believe all the great items and wide aisles that makes it easy to find what I need. I bought some chrome hardware for my Harley and they engaged in a pleasant conversation with me while we found the right bolts, washers, and locknuts. What a nice change! I thought I was in a time zone gone by! Take notes guys... ACE knows how to run a hardware store!👏😎🔩🔧🔑🔨🚽🚿🔦
The sockets on my lamps needed to be replaced and guess what?? I couldnt replace them. Lol. But, Mr. Malcom could. He was recommended by his co-worker. I spoke to him over the phone prior to going to the store and he was as friendly over the phone as he was in person. He replaced my sockets out of the kindness of his heart and he made me a happy customer. Thank you Mr. Malcom!
The combined experience of the staff is amazing. I take phone pictures of my problem (plumbing, electrical, and more) and they have always provided a solution or would tell me to I would need to hire a professional. Love this store. Lowes and Home Depot are closer but I choose to go to Ace in Mansfield.
Best place to buy things instead of local home stores. They have people that help you when you need it and they know things about home repair. Not like other home stores that have to find someone that my be able to help you. My new go to store. Prices are comparable with the home stores.
The customer service at this location, particularly in the paint area is always frustratingly terrible. They have a great selection and fair prices but there is never anyone working at the paint desk.Multuple times Ive had to stand around and wait for 10+ minutes to even be acknowledged. My most recent time I had to actually walk to the front, ask a cashier for help, walk back to the paint section and continue to wait 5 minutes before an employee even walked in my direction that I could stop and ask for help.
I’ve been a customer of this place since I moved to Mansfield area 6 years ago. Everything I use for my company I purchase here. All my lawn equipment as well. I have never had a bad experience until today. I went in to purchase a hedge trimmer 2 days ago. There was no price on the one I was interested in. They gave me a price and I thought it was good so told them I wanted it. They couldn’t find the paperwork or battery charger for it so the told me to come back the next day when the “Stihl guy” was there. Went back today. After another 30 min wait he finally gathered everything up and verified the price. I went to pay and it rung up for $100 more. I spent 2 hr of my time in the store and 2 trips for nothing. I live pretty far away and actually drive right by a Home Depot to get to this ace. What’s worse about the situation is that it was almost like it was all my fault. The “Stihl guy” has a pretty bad attitude. Last time I shop here. Home Depot all the way from here on. Such a shame. This used to feel like a small town store. Customer service just isn’t what it used to be.
Weve had bad experiences in four separate occasions that we have been in this store. When we requested assistance to find an item the man we asked told another employee that was busy to help us. He said he had something else to do. When she came to help, the item was literally six feet from where the man had been standing. Similar circumstances occurred another time when we requested help to make a key. We were told to ask a certain employee and had to search the store for him and wait for him to mix paint. We have shopped at Ace for years, and always enjoyed friendly, helpful, knowledgeable employees. This particular store has employees that seem to be lacking of any desire to help customers. They do not offer any assistance and are downright rude when asked for help. Again, these comments are based on several visits to this store - not just a one time bad experience.A sadly disappointed customer.
Best damn Ace Hardware store around! I love the garden center. My husband loves the lawn tools and supplies. The staff is friendly and helpful, the people that shop here are neighborly, fresh hot coffee, pet friendly, clear aisles, clean bathrooms. What else could you ask for? Honestly, dont go to any other Ace in this area because they dont even compare. Im always coming across new and interesting finds at Ace.Great job yall!
The guy in plumbing that assist me this morning was very nice and took the time to write down the address and phone numberof these two companies.I went to Ace to find a shower handle that the plastic was broken inside the handle. I want to Lowes and Home Depot to no avail.Once again i want to thank the guy for taking his time to write all the information !!!
Love to help the small independent stores but I make a online order for over 500.00 for a mower and a blower to be delivered and I go in there the day before to get something else and I ask about the order and the manager tells me we show to have 4 blowers in stock but cant find them, show to have 2 mowers in stock but cant find them. They had it set up for a delivery on Friday and then he informs me that well we only deliver on Tuesday even though it had me set up for Friday. Think its time for a full audit of this store.
I went to Home Depot to get a retaining clip for a repair I needed to do and the employees werent sure what exactly I was looking for even when I pulled up their website inventory. So I searched for the nearest Hardware store hoping they that might have what I was looking for. Ace Hardware popped up and I drove right on over. I was searching though the aisle when an employee asked me if I needed help. After showing them a picture, they immediately took me to the section for the retaining rings.Found the perfect size for the repair and it saved us from a costly replacement.
Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. Its a small business which is exactly what you want to patronize these days as opposed to the larger companies. The stores extremely customer focused and it shows. this is the kind of place that I always prefer to take my business and every time I visit this store I reassured of why I like to shop here.
Always helpful. If your looking for something but you are unsure of what you need they will always help.you. The anxiety of having to go to Lowes or Home Depot and finding someone to help you is sometimes too much. I prefer getting in and out and I always do at ACE. Thank you for always helping.
I usually like big box stores BUT there are lots of items that can only be found at our Ace Hardware. Best selection of fasteners and electrical components anywhere. I like their selection of plants. It is my first place to look every spring. Also great selection of BBQ equipment like Big Green Egg and supplies. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And I can get in and out quickly!!!
When I heard from neighbors that the large home improvement store were sold out of plumbing fittings to repair all the broke water lines in the Texas DFW area. I always head to ACE and they were prepared for the storm and had everything I needed in addition to some of the most knowledgeable people in the plumbing industry.
On a quarterly basis for the last 3 years, I’ve gone to this Ace store, on each visit all Sales Associate and the Assistant Store Manager have always been polite and extremely helpful.HOWEVER, last week, I went to the store and couldn’t find what I needed so I searched newly the entire store for assistance...I finally ran into the Manager Ace Hardware, Malcolm. He was rude as heck; he was talking while I was talking & told me they didn’t get the item I was searching for this year. In this year (2019), it was 7th day of this year. So what was he saying...that he didn’t get it in this most recent shipment or he doesn’t anticipate getting the item at all this coming year. Because I purchased the item 3-4 months ago, so his statement didn’t make sense at all and it was obvious he didn’t want to help / assist me at all.I will never go back to this store and give this Store Manager, Malcolm, any of my money or ratings.I will drive further to go to another Ace or go to Lowe’s.I would not recommend anyone go to this Ace Hardware.
Ordered an item online. it said it would be ready the same day. Went to the store & the manager (Matt) and his employees barely put in any effort to help locate my item that was already paid for and supposed to be ready for pick up. The employees were just standing around waiting for the store to close. Will NOT be purchasing any more items from this location & will make sure to tell others to do the same. Very unprofessional and a waste of time.
Ive been shopping at Ace since the late 60s. Two locations on Park Row in Arlington back in the old days. Now that Im almost 60 myself I still find Ace to be a reliable resource for common hardware and tools. Its also been great for things you wont find in the big do it yourself stores. Things like seals for my Presto brand Pressure Cooker. Its as old as me and in better shape. Lol Which is another good point, easy in and out for us that have already lost our steam.
Store Manager Matt is AWESOME!! I popped in store 15mins before close. Got home and merchandise I purchased was not correct. Called the store @ 9.02p. Matt asked how far away was I and said hed stay until I arrived so I could exchange my purchase. He expressed that he understood my situation and wanted to do what he could to help. He could have easily said Were closed, but he didnt. Instead he displayed true customer service. AWESOME!! I can say he definitely saved the night and earned all my business moving forward.
If I could give 0 stars I would. When a person calls and ask if they can cut car keys over the phone and you guarantee that they can you should also tell said person that you have to buy be $150 duracell key otherwise they wont do it. I am so sick of Ace employees not knowing what theyre talking about and making me waste my gas and my time
Good for hardware, but not so good for plants. The plants they have are very nice but Very expensive and need to be careful. Not all the plants they sell good for hot Texas summers. You dont want to spend $20 for a pot of flowers that are not going to survive past May.
Today I wanted to exchange 6 can of blue spray paint for 6 cans of red...and to get a size larger in a pair of work gloves for my husband. Just changed my mind on the paint color...you know its a womans prerogative...right? Well apparently NOT at this Ace Hwd store. The manager on duty said I would have to pay extra, due to a coupon I used at the original purchase. I didnt understand...I just wanted an even exchange. He said it wasnt possible...so I asked for a refund, which I received. I have lived in Mansfield for 15 yrs...and from now on I be going back to Foster Hwd in Arlington . I have shopped both stores during this 15 yr period...now Foster Hwd will be my #1 hardware store to go too! They have great customer service..and I feel that they would have exchanged my paint color without any issue. This my first time I have ever reviewed... only giving my opinion when I do NOT receive good customer service.
The staff who work here are extraordinary! They are so helpfu. They handle every question with grace, explaining how to do things efficiently and never make one feel dumb for asking for help! They offer suggestions of where to find things, if they are unsuccessful in securing your needs. Love this place!!
A REAL hardware store! They have everything and whats more...they know where it is! We hunted for 10 minutes to find a screw to match one lost from an office chair at one of the big hardware stores. Finally gave up and went for lunch. Went to Westlake and stood in the aisle for less than a minute when an employee asked if we needed help. We did! And unless than another minute, she handed us a matching screw! Well be back!
Westlake Ace Hardware always has knowledgeable people to assist in every department, unlike what we often find at the big-box hardware or retailers. They are always well-stocked with a wide variety of standard hardware otems, and in addition they carry interesting, fashionable items for the home or yard. They also keep cards and references for various trades that homeowners need from time to time to help complete projects.
Purchased a Stihl Edger from this location. Only had approximately 2 hours on machine and wouldn’t start or run. Dropped it off to be serviced. Called several times and heard multiple excuses about why it hasn’t been looked at yet. Store inventory, days off, really busy, stihl guy called in sick, etc finally after a few weeks I came and picked it up and brought it somewhere else. I really liked coming here but being blown off multiple times was kind of a slap in the face.Edit: I’ve always liked this store. Outside of Stihl service I give this store and it’s employees a high score!
Worst store you could ever imagine!!!! No knowledge here!!! Weve had several bad experiences at this store. The ONLY thing I can say positive about this particular store, is that its right down the street and very convenient....unfortunately!!! But there are also 2 older gentleman who work there and have ALWAYS been so helpful. MAYBE PUTTING THEM IN CHARGE WOULD CHANGE THE BAD TASTE IN M Y MOUTH ABOUT THIS STORE. Dont try to warranty your Craftsman tools here... the manager didnt even know craftsman was a lifetime guranteed product. Then, he wouldnt warranty my level I brought up there to exchange out... employees laughing about how messed up it is, while hes on the phone with another manager whos trying to help him out with the mass confusion that was created for him over a VERY SIMPLE tool warranty.... Ive warranted tools almost every day over the past 15 years, due to the field Im in. Sadly tho, Ill probably never buy another Craftsmans product in my life due to the stores who are selling their products and lack any/all knowledge of the LEGENDARY AMERICAN BRAND!!! Snap-on on, will be replacing all my craftsman tools. Stihl or Echo will take the place of my Craftsman lawn tools. And anything else, itll be replaced by another brand as well. Just so I dont have to deal with this store. Its not the quality of their products... its the quality of their staff... Now Ill be driving the extra distance to Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, etc... when I had a 1 stop shop literally right down the street!!!!!
They would be really great if they didnt have five to seven employees there all the time with one register open. Maybe two of them stocking stuff and the rest (besides the cashier) are literally standing there with their thumbs up their but or just chatting away. Its seriously ridiculous and any other store Ive been to would never have this going on EVERYDAY. Also IF they do have two registers open pray that Barb isnt at one of them, because shell just send you to someone else and act like shes sooooo busy doing something. Literally just happened yesterday and then we overheard her talking to another employee saying I didnt want to check him out, so I sent him to.. We couldnt hear the rest, but we heard that VERY clearly. Rude, rude, rude. Although with the exception of her, the other employees are really polite and helpful.
I had a terrible experience over a craftsman tool with my husband the day before. He was much more upset than I was, but pretty disappointed in the lack of tool knowledge considering thats a large portion of what they sell......coming from a service department at several DFW dealerships one thing you have to know is what you sell, why and how it benefits your customer. My husband swore off ACe in Mansfield, however the next day I ran in for some potting soil and a few planters......it took them forever to find the sku for one planter, they ended up kickng me out of line to wait while they figured it out while I kept offering to grab it for them. The man behind me was incredibly uncomfortable jumping ahead as he had a HUGE basket of items while I had 4, after 15 minutes I told them thanks but no thanks. The new management is awful and Unknowledged in the products they sell which is unfortunate because in Azle we LOVED our ace store. DEFINITELY lost two very good customers. Took us several frustrating visits to finally write off the Mansfield location. Instead of supporting our family owned business right down the road we will drive across town to Lowes from now on. AGAIN THE AZLE STORE IS AMAZING AND MIGHT BENEFIT THE MANAGEMENT AND OWNER TO SHADOW THEM FOR A DAY OR SO.....

2021-07-27We went to Ace to find a pocket knife. They were low on stock but found one nice enough. So the salesman wrote us a receipt and we were off. I had recently seen a small swimming pool at the Ace on Park Parkrow, and since this location was out, I decided to just go ahead and drive over, scoop a pool for my dogs and be done. Because it has really been hot and getting hotter. Only to find out that the exact same knife just purchased at the Ace off Matlock was $10 less. 🤑 We bought the less expensive one and returned the other one. It took drive and time. But I learned that the stores are usually individually owned. So it was only fair to the store owner at Parkrow to return the knife to the Matlock location.

2022-06-11This is supposed to a Stihl authorized dealer yet their inventory does not reflect it. I was told they only had common parts like heads and carb rebuild kits. Where I cime from if you need those kind of parts youve done something really wrong. Take it frim a long time Stihl customer. They produce products.

2022-01-09Had a firebox on a big green egg crack. I contacted Big Green Egg and they approve the warranty claim and asked me to order one through my local dealer. I contacted Westland Ace to order it. I have contacted the store several times and received no response from them. I have never seen an Ace dealer that was so unresponsive or gave such poor customer service!

2021-09-10Im a DIY guy with OCD. Run to this store almost weekly. Don and Fred know this store..completely. Honor my old coupons without hassle (i buy a lot). Did whole backyard sprinkler with Ace. Good sprinkler and irrigation section., They are NOT wally world or Homewreck Depot, so you pay higher retail for convenience. No self checkout nonesense, actual service.
