This hobby shop has a little bit of everything and a whole lot of customer service. The employees make sure to get you what you need and with a smile! They have a ton of products from hobby grade RC and models to entry level kits as well. A lot of cool vintage collectibles and they even have an RC oval track and RC crawler course! If you like RC cars, model trains, modeling, or any hobbies, you dont want to miss out on this place!
Its more of and actual rc shop. They have a good ammout of ARf And Rtf planes. BOATS. tons of trains. And the norm stuff every other hobby town has. If you dont work on your own stuff. Expect 45 bucks an hour for repairs. In this hobby I dont know why you would not. They had 1 heli kit. But they are still sticking up. What I liked to see. Was they had lots of spektrum tx and rx equip. And lots of batteries. Go see them.
Love going into this local gem. These guys are incredibly knowledgeable about their products. Who knew they had an insane collection of RC cars?! They also do repairs and reasonable. They dont BS, to get your business. Come to them for parts and maintenance items of your RC even if you dont buy the item from them.
The ownership has changed and they have focused on gas powered vehicles vs having a lot of everything. Ive gone to this store for the past 30 years. Unless you like gas powered rc cars, planes, boats and Nascar I wouldnt go there. What made it really sad was I spent a lot of time wondering the store looking and no one said hello to me. Nevertheless ask what Im looking for. There were 2 gentlemen in black shirts that just didnt care. This was 1 of the few stores where you can find different size model cars, trains, and build kits. Not anymore. Bye bye wild Bill.
Glad they kept the name and honoured a legacy. I like that theyve opened the inside from the dark cavern it was. They look well stocked, unfortunately, a lot of old kits. Not a bad thing, its just it wouldve been nice to have new stock on the shelves. Only real complaint is a lot of kits had no price tags. A minor point, but there it is. Overall, worth checking out.
Heath was awesome! My husband and I walked in not knowing anything about rc cars except that we wanted one for the family. Heath answered all of our questions and we walked out with two (an rc excavator for our son).Because of the great customer service and the helpful information that we got from Heath, this is the only place we’ll go for our rc needs!
Been going there for over 30 years but with the new owners the place is more of a toy store then a hobby shop. They dont even have any built up balsa and tissue kits. If you are into gas R/C cars you are in like flint! But if you fly R/C you just as well go somewhere else or buy online. And I dont like to buy online. They do have a good supply of plastic kits but very little supplies for building them. Get it together!
Have all your model car, train set, RC car , model figurine needs! Ive been living in this area for quite some time and always told myself I would stop by. Finally decided to do so and kind of wish I would have stopped by sooner! I was like a kid at a candy store!! Need to visit this place wont be disappointed
Ill rate it 4 stars to support your business establishment and because my hubby loves his hobby. Thank you! for making it possible for all remote controlers esspially kids who are into this hobby and making it possible. Highly recommend! rc are up to date and have a few of the old classic model cars. Other fun toys available for the educated and baby toys.
I have known Wild Bills for over 30 years... it was always a friendly place with a very knowledgeable staff however, is was cramped, appeared to be disorganized, and very dusty so therefore i stopped going...I was informed by someone that I needed to visit since the merger and I found it the staff was still very friendly and knowledgeable but the store was completely renovated, clean, organized, and well stocked.
We absolutely love this place, everyone there is so helpful and the entire team is super friendly. Heath is our favorite, he is always so kind and goes above and beyond. The store is always well stocked and we will definitely keep coming to this shop. Highly recommend.
Nice little store with a bit of everything for scale modeling, trains and RC hobbyist. Unfortunately not too many armor kits -which is why I came in the first place, but a lot of race car kits. Prices a tad too high, and their selection of products is poor. If you are a beginner modeler maybe this is the place to go, but if you are a seasoned one -dont waste your time. Its so sad that these kinds of stores are not likely to survive if they dont step to the plate against the fierce online competition. I will rather go to a brick and mortar shop like this any time if I didnt want to wait for a product that I can order online, however the lack of a greater selection and the higher prices are driving their customers away.
I love this place!!!!!! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the store manager is friendly and always helps me with anything I need from R/C cars and trucks or model cars. 3 stage Crawler track & race track outback, on race day events there’s usually food available so that’s cool.
We have to travel about 30 minutes from Arlington to get the gas for my husbands hobby but the guys in the store make conversation willingly passing on bits of knowledge each time and that not only makes my husband feel like a friend in sport so to say, but builds a relationship that makes for a trust worthy place to shop not just a ok thatll be 15.95 have a nice day customer.
This is a wonderful place to check out, especially if youre into anything RC, or trains or model airplanes. They also have a race track, some very nice model cars and other collectables. Its a hobby store, not a toy store so nothing aimed at small children. I collect 1/64 and their selection is sparse, but I still enjoyed looking around. Its kind of hidden and I doubt he advertises.
A fun place to visit. Old school stuff that is fun to look at and reminisce on. They have new and exciting items as well. They are always friendly and willing to share knowledge in the RC world. Been around for a long time, so that tells you they have a very established customer base.
Definitely in the works of switching over to become another HobbyTown. No trains to speak of unless you’re interested in 3-rail Lionel. Great sale going on right now, though. 50% off all Wild Bill’s tags (orange or yellow). I didn’t find anything there I wanted, but you might!
The owner is a very nice person. Him and his shop has been there for a Really long time. He sells a very wide variety of models and R.C. types. Moderate Prices. Its a small place in South Irving but appears to be a decent location. So its worth visiting if thats something your interested in.
This place has been absolutely amazing since the first time Ive ever stepped foot in there ....customer service is OUTSTANDING ...you get one on one help with ease ...your not forced to pay to get help...they help and give advice...hands down they are the best...GREAT TEAM OF GUYS AT WILD BILLS ...cant go wrong with this location
I have been dealing with Wild Bills for a long time and consider this Hobby Shop to be one of the best around. they usually have everything I need and if they dont, they will do everything they can to get it for you very quickly. The personal attention they provide is unmatched and hard to find in todays fast-paced sell, sell, sell mentality. Drop in and you will enjoy the Old-Time Service.Bob
Wild Bill Shack. Oh... I mean Shop. Wild Bills had a great selection of scale platic model kits of all kinds. Anything from Star Wars and train sets. With all different kits of classic and modern vehicles and WWII scale aircraft from all sides. German Panzers, American Sherman! Great selection.. but the most unorganized shelves I have ever seen. Different types or kits thrown about on every level. The coustomer service was flat out Not there! Besides from being less than helpful. Not a one had any kind of knowledge of the very modeling products they were attempting to sell. They had absolutely nothing for sale or any kind of deal throughout the entire shop. My experience wasnt all bad. After searching through all the outdated paints and digging through 100s of disorganized kits. I was able o find a very nice kit that was a good price. Also the one and only helpful and knowlegable person working there was very help and a very good staff. Checked me out quickly and I was on my way. I went 20 minutes out of my way to see what Wild Bills was all about. I found a run down hobby shop with sorry to say but Wild Bills is a sub-par hobby shop. However there r good things about it but changes must be made. I went 20 minutes out of my way but gas is too expensive and Wild Bills offers nothing special so Im sorry Wild Bills until, if ever, u find ur identity fare well and all the best!Jake G
I Love Bill. I have met him an his son on several occasions, Bill is a very honest man. He tries to give you a good deal without ripping you off like some places I have shop at. He is a very good man to do business with, an I would HIGHLY recommend his shop to all of my friends!!! Keep up the good work Bill, I will be stopping by soon to say hey an to buy some new wheels for my Traxxas Jato 3.3.
I’m a born and raised Irving child. This was my favorite store. Wanted to see the upgrade and buy a gas RC toy today and was asked to leave. The sign on the door states “(if possible)” on wearing a mask. I actually read their signage. Didn’t have one but neither did another couple inside. An employee walked up, asked if we had masks and escorted us to leave. When we asked about the other people in the store who didn’t have one.. he said “that’s someone else’s customers, idk”. Really?! Wow. I pointed out their sign verbiage and we left. I’ll take the $800 I was ready to blow elsewhere. Waste of a drive and time for garbage service. I’ll pass the word on to my buddies. 😡
Great customer service, great people...large variety of tools parts and rc stuff . . a childs fantasy playhouse, even for me at 43 years of age .., was amazed and if they cant help they will point you into the right direction of what your seeking, im definitely going back to add to my rcs! Im a happy customer that came and bought a tool for my jbl cheetah!!
Everything as described in the previous reviews...mounds of everything stacked to the ceiling...and decent prices to boot! Trains, Models, Remote control everything...However the R/C airplane engine guru is only in Thursdays and Saturdays. The staff appears to have their own specialty and are not very helpful outside if that...or perchance I just got the r/c car guy. Anyway we made it work!
This people are so rude you try to ask him a question and they take their sweet time to answer anything. And they always answer with a sarcasm. Never coming back to the store I prefer to drive maybe 5 more miles to go to my next hobby shop. Theres only this gentlement which was a little bit older than the rest who was very polite and helpful. But the rest of the people there just stupid and rude. If you want to be treated like crap then go there
Stopped in to buy a new xmaxx. They did not have one in stock. Guy behind counter was to busy on his phone to answer any questions or even talk to me. Im the type of person that would rather spend more money on an item to support local shops but if there not willing to order something in or even talk to you how are they supposed to make money?
Ive been going here for years, usually just for a couple old school rc parts. I wasnt a real big fan because if you wernt into the round dirt track side of r.c. they didnt care. Im what they call a basher in the rc world. I jump alot of stuff and get a little crazy with my trucks,so i break ALOT of stuff. Now that hobby town has bought wild bills it has became a place that all types of people can go. Anywhere from dirt track racers to bashers to Pilots To boat drivers, They have parts for all of them. Wild bills is now my favorite go to place for the RC world the guys up there are very knowledgeable and very friendly and will bend over backwards to help you
Greatplace to pick up model cars you have never seen along with the mass produced models. they are hig in prices but its a one stop shop and the only other place you will find the stuff they have in house is on ebay. great selection of air brush and spray paints. Im a model car guy so I can speak for any other section. although I see they have a lot of rc car & plane stuff as well with train stuff. diorama stuff. you have to see it to believe it.
Densely stocked hobby shop is the biggest understatement I have known last time Ive been to this hobby shop was back in 1993 they had a lot of stuff back then and they still got a lot of stuff today, I bought some Associated stuff from a real nice guy behind the counter and hook me up with the parts that I need it he was out of some parts that I needed but all in all I was very well taken care of!!!!!!!!!

2022-06-13How do I start this great review with giving a huge thank you to great customer service!? I came in yesterday with my fiance and daughter. Neither one of them ever stepped foot into a hobby shop EVER. I purchased her a Arrma Vorteks and myself a Big Rock Crew cab! Were expecting our 1st son due in October. So, i figured to introduce my fiance to a very exciting and at times peaceful hobby to possibly help her during this pregnancy! She was game from the first YouTube video lol. I wish I got his name... HOWEVER as soon as you click on the link to the website, hes the guy holding the Traxxas Bronco. Not once did he make me feel pressured into making extra purchases. Allowed me to make my own executive decisions. Very nice and helpful man! He even gave our daughter free toys which I had no idea Hobbytown did that!🗣THANK YOU AGAIN!

2022-07-31They have a great selection and pricing seems ok as well. Staff was helpful and seemed knowledgeable about their products. Walking around I had the feeling of being a big kid in a candy store. . . So many options I couldnt decide what all to buy but as the Terminator said, Ill be back😆 Everybody needs a Hobby and they have support for numerous ones.

2022-07-11Changing my review, everybody has a bad day, and Im pretty sure I hit them the last time on one of those days. The new location is FANTASTIC the employees seem much happier to be there, cant blame them the new location is bright, clean, open, SUPER well stocked with new vintage and hard to find models. Look into their Star Trek selection simply amazing. Great service from start to finish. Could not have asked for more simply the best and i am so happy to change this review.

2022-08-01The shelves were well stocked thats for sure. Although I was looking for Traxxas drag slash compatible parts and upgrades they didnt have any. Seems as though a drag section would be a popular section just my 2 cents. Will try them out again next time in in town

2022-07-02Extremely poor customer service. Asked about dirt oval racing in the area since they had a kit on the shelf. Not knowing i was going to be pushed to buy everything but that and participate in racing classes that i have no interest in unless your into what they want you to be into your better off shoping online.
