I adopted my dog 2.5 years ago and they were the first vet I went to. They’re pretty affordable and the people were so nice, which is why they aren’t getting a 1 star. When I adopted my dog, she had a pretty sizable circular lump on her back leg but never seemed to bother her. I asked about it and they said, “seems to be a scar wound.” She was clearly abused before so this made sense to me. During that visit, one tech mentioned her dark tooth is fine and just needs a cleaning. I bring her back for future appointments and another tech mentioned her tooth is dark because it’s dead. Now that I’m getting different answers for the same thing, flags are raised. I happen to move south, so because of wishy washy diagnosis and it being far, I switched vets. I ask this new vet about the lump on her leg because it’s gotten bigger. They tested it. It’s a tumor, not a scar wound. So this thing grew for over 2 years because no one, during any of her visits, were concerned by a very noticeable lump on her leg. Not sure if it’s benign yet or not, but I don’t have hope since her hip now has some unknown mass under the muscle. See photo of her leg to know what the lump looks like. It’s missing hair because she licks it a lot now.
Love this vet. Not only have they taken care of numerous pets over the years (including surgeries, new puppy exam, euthanasia) but every member of the staff we interact with has been friendly, professional, and compassionate. Dr. Geigel is thorough, patient, and understanding. We wouldnt consider taking our dogs anywhere else.
This vet clinic is amazing. Have been taking my dog here for about a year and half (first dog) and they have raised the bar in all aspects.Very clean facility, extremely nice staff and everyone is very knowledgeable and genuinely sounds like they always want to help my dog.It makes me feel better knowing Windsor Park is my vet because anytime Im unsure about something I can call and they will provide advice or guidance or set up an appointment to check something out.Thank you Windsor Park Vet!
This place is night and day compared to my old vet. My two big pups love the staff. While the pups love the staff or the treats, I like that theyre patient with questions and happy to explain anything. Every appointment Ive had starts right on time which is a much better experience than Ive had with other places around town.Someone mentioned pricing being an issue, but Ive found their prices fair. When one of my pups needed a tooth extraction their estimate was good and didnt have a range of 600 dollars like my old vet.
This is the best vet Ive ever taken my pets to. They are so kind and compassionate. I took my Golden there for a limp that unfortunately turned out to be cancer. The vet and her staff were so kind and wonderful. I could not have gotten through such a hard time without them. I cant wait to continue to have a relationship with this clinic with my cat and all my pets to come. I hope she never retires or moves!
I have been going to Windsor Park Vet for about 2 years now, but I ended up moving super north so I had to switch my provider for a while... Boy did I miss the staff at Windsor!!! My 6 year old Shih Tzu had some teeth pulled last year and the doctor was very respectful and knowledgeable. He also called me multiple times throughout the day updating me on how my dog was doing. (Loved that!) When I came in to pick my little guy up, the front desk receptionist had him wrapped up in a soft blanket on her lap and was comforting him after his surgery. I cried tears of joy because of how well they took care of him. My dog recently went in for an infection and same service was provided! All of the doctors treated me with respect and they are so sweet to my pup. Thank you Windsor Park Vet!! We are very satisfied customers!
Dr Rita is trustworthy and experienced. What I love about this office is that they followed up with me a week or two after every visit to make sure my dog was doing well. Its hard to have a compassionate vet these days. My dog has been in excellent health thanks to Rita and her staff. Thank you!
I’ve had 4 or 5 different experiences with this Vet clinic. I’ll never go anywhere else in Austin. Incredibly warm and accommodating staff, also sensitive to people with limited finances. They worked with us to make sure our needs were met first and foremost. 100% trustworthy and professional.
My dog went to Windsor Park for several years. Generally good care, but then, I brought her in for what looked like a broken book vessel that was protruding from here eye. The vet took photos and said she would consult an specialist but she believe it to be nothing serious and it would go away, likely a blood vessel. So that was that. I never heard from the vet or Windsor Park and assumed the specialist agreed. About five weeks later I called to let them know it had not gone away. I took her to Austin Pet Eye specialist and sure enough it was a tumor that cost me $3000 to remove. If I had of taken her any later they would have had to remove her eye, if I had of taken her sooner I could have saved substantially. Windsor Park admitted the vet had been let go, but never the less, they gave me false hope that the eye issue was not urgent and they would follow up once they heard from the specialist -- they/the vet never contacted the specialist. They just let us go and let the issue get significantly worse.
I used to go to this location many years ago very good service friendly and affordable. I adopted dogs I now have four, so decided to go back because of convenience. My regular vet I see once a year is in pflugerville but this location is directly in my neighborhood so decided to go back.My first visit was fine believe they have two vets this one was an older male and was so great with my dog. Keep a long story short. The reason I took my dog in he had ear issues and a swollen foot and a wart on his eye and in need of his teeth cleaning. So was advised all this things could be achieved when he was put under for his teeth clean .Next visit was a female in her 50s very friendly soft spoken lady so thought well thats fine same business figured they all knew what they were doing .So needed a blood test first she left the room myself and the two techs were trying to take blood from my small dog but he is a bechon very furry .They couldnt get to his vain they didnt shave the fur.. They managed to get the needle in but only got a clot of blood out that was it. Ask her ”is that going to be enough to get a good reading ”she said yes .So several calls and messages later then I connect with the vet she told me ” low red and white blood count could have spleen problems and could have a a tumor ” I was devastated and ask that was the diagnosis from that spec of blood she said yes .She said she did not recommend him having the surgery (clean his teeth )because he may not wake up .So in my head well maybe get some meds to help his anemia? Vitamins something she suggested an ultrasound.I have four rescued dogs and try to make sure I feed them right exercise regularly because cant afford big vet bills .”So thats it he has to have the ultra sound ”she says YES otherwise no surgery. They said come and drop him off, but he doesnt like being shut in cages long so took day off. Went to get ultra sound at time recommend she.was late so I ended up waiting around after she had arrived for 1 1/2 hrs..Finally did the ultra sound get the results via phone message that all.was fine nothing wrong BLOOD TEST was great.. This time the blood test was a whole syringe full. How can a dog be so sick 5 days later his perfectly fine no treatment no different diet etc. So believe that the first blood test was inaccurate.. I confirmed it with a vet friend and the ultra sound wasnt completely necessary to treat my dog.I explained my concerns and was basically ignored told me if I didnt trust them go somewhere else. $700 later all I got was antibiotics and pain meds for foot .Try to talk to the vet about my concerns mainly the first blood test and not really needing an ultra sound I take my dogs regularly for wellness checks at vet and at emacipet. I love dogs and budget for all four if mine I like to donate to shelter etc.. $ 700 could have fed a lot of homeless pets plus kept all of my dogs feed for a year.I know veterinarian is expensive and my point is if everything she did was completely necessary his my dog its what we do for our animals ..If she had said ” sorry the blood reading wasnt as accurate as was thought and discounted $200 for the $400 teeth clean. But nothing I had to call for my other work and results that they said they would send and didnt ..I own a business I understand expenses but not to own up to it is ridiculous... They were not honest they were not reliable or apologetic. Sent me off still with my poor dogs teeth not clean.
Dr. Geigel is the most thorough and patient health care professional Ive encountered in any field, not just vet care. I look forward to our visits, knowing she will be a wealth of information each time. I just wish I could find a human doctor who would treat me the same way Dr. Geigel treats her patients! Top that off with great staff, a great location, and affordable prices, and Windsor Park will be my vet for as long as Im in Austin!
I had to get my cats claws trimmed and a couple of other things. They have it set up with shade covers over the parking lot and you sit and you wait in your car as they come out pick up the animal take them inside do what they need to and then bring them back to your car. Brilliant!
It was below my hopes and expectationsFor some reason after verifying the 3 vaccines I needed to get and receiving them they added the 3 year fvrcp vaccine without my consent with my cat not even being 2 years old.I didn’t really feel like the reason I was coming in was being addressed and I didn’t feel like the vet was listening to me.I came in for a chronic suspected ear infection, was prescribed anti-biotics even through I have gone through with anti biotics before and they did not work. The Vet lady did not make me feel like she cared and seemed to just want me gone. Even stating that because I let my cat outdoors the chronic ear issue is probably just mosquito bites even through that’s obviously false because there are no mosquitos in winterIt’s great that I got my vaccines up to date, and the facility was clean and friendly enough, but other than that I feel like I wasted $100/200 I spent because I do not believe they solved or even attempted to solve my poor cats chronic ear issue which is what I came in and gave them my hard earned labored money for.I will never go to anyone but star of Texas again. They really go beyond and above and there love for animals is obvious in everything they do. Here I just felt like a number, some money in there pocket and judged for my personal decision to let my cat outdoors.
My experience is up an down. One of the receptionists constantly speaks in a rude tone to me every time I call and implies I dont care for my pets. When she makes a mistake, she blames me saying I gave her different details (information she asked for that was not relevant).Lastly, I scheduled an appointment and was not let into an examination room until 30 minutes after that time and had to wait another 30 to see the doctor. I hope the next appointment goes well, or Ill have to look for another vet to take care of my pets moving forward.
A bit overpriced. Could be cleaner for sure. I’m not sure I trust them to be honest. They faked a stool sample test and prescribed antibiotics based on what they saw in the “sample” under the microscope: I watched them do the collection, not even a trace of poop on the stick. When the vet came in & said”we were able to use the tiny bit we got to view under the microscope” I was shocked but like a dummy I paid anyway & went on my way. I didn’t know how to say to her “you’re lying” without it sounding rude so I just went along with it. I wish I would have spoke up, especially after the $200 bill which include fecal collection & the assessment of it. Won’t be going back.
Very nice place, the doctors.and um, I dont know the right titles for vet staff, the hierarchy, but every is friendly, caring to the animals as well as owners and dont try to guilt me into procedures I just cant afford. But they also tell me what they think is essential care, and how long I can put it off so that I can start saving. And they very competently drained an abscess on my poor little doggie and ages good as newAs someone preemptively retired early on disability, Im glad to have found a clinic very close to.my house that respects my situation. This still aint your well-off S@HM Neighborhood just yetS, um, not yet
Recently coworkers stopped a man from beating his dog and rushed it to Windsor. The poor guy suffered some serious trauma. This clinic and it’s most amazing team were so quick to help. Shed some tears and jump into action to help us. Will forever have my respect and gratitude!!
Ive been bringing my chow chow/rhodesian ridgeback here for going on 3 years now! Wonderful friendly staff, affordable prices, and a good location. The vets here are great. When my dog tore her doggie acl, they referred me to an amazing orthopedic surgeon and she made a full recovery. One last thing to mention, she actually likes coming to this vet! Which is nice.
Highly over priced. The clinic didnt look in good shape either. I compared the prices with online prices and they were more than double. I was highly unsatisfied. Please dont take your puppy there. The nurse or technician was highly rude and unprofessional. He didnt want to touch the dog because he just washed his hands.
Ive been a client of Windsor Park for 32 years with only one change in vets which was really no change...still great care. I was in the other day to get flea meds and Shayna reminded me to treat the yard. Ten pounds of diatomaceous from Callahans and Nexgard did the trick, no more scratching. Thanks Shayna.
Relatively inexpensive, however, no payment plan options. And if you are fixed income and need a payment plan to pay, they try to fix you up with a credit card, which I find rediculous, seeing as you need a payment plan to pay. Which means you have no money, which tends to equal bad credit, ergo, not qualifying for a credit card

2022-08-01Extremely kind and compassionate vet facility. My dog is very anxious around new people and they always take the the time to make her feel comfortable. They don’t try to upswell you on unnecessary procedures that will stress your dog out. Thank you Dr. Monger!

2022-06-29I had the honor of taking my moms car Bast Emrit in to this clinic for her, and I am so happy I did! I life south, but I’m going to start taking my pets here from all the way south. The doctor is amazing and friendly and so are the staff. They are also fairly priced. I have a degree (ASsociates) for Veterinary Technician and was very impressed.

2022-03-31Dr. Geigel and her staff are so caring and efficient! I was able to get a next day appointment when my rescue maltipoo, Archie, had an ear infection. I really appreciate being able to get an appointment so quickly! Dr. G took as much time as needed to answer my questions on all things regarding his health, as did her staff. So glad to have them as my new vet clinic!

2022-02-19Honest, cost wise, extremely friendly, and non-judgmental. Ive been to different clinics, including emancipet. Its definitely one of the best places for your pets best interest. They didnt push stuff onto us and kept me updated on my fur baby.My fur baby had surgery, and when she was out and awake, they cuddled her for a long while till she was reassured that it was safe. Absolutely the most loving and amazing care.Thank you to the staff who helped my Foxy.

2022-02-21I have been bringing my dogs to Windsor Park Veterinary Clinic since 1992. Ownership changed to Dr. Geigel on or about 2010 to present. I am extremely disappointed in my visit on February 11, 2022. I brought my 12.5 year old German Shepherd in for his annual shots. His hind quarters have been slowly giving him problems but he was still able to walk and move at a slow pace. I asked Dr. Geigel as to what I should do to alleviate the discomfort in my dog. She prescribed Dasuquin, Gabarpentin for pain and Carprofen for bed time. After 2 days upon administering the medications, my husband and I noticed our dog was moving with less mobility, falling down and acting very lethargic (discovered Gabarpentin can make dogs dizzy and sleepy). I thought he would improve since the Doctor prescribed the medications. Unfortunately, 7 days later he lost complete control of his hind quarters, could only lay down and sleep and we had to put him down on February 21, 2022. We feel the medications may have contributed to his advanced decline in just a couple of days. My husband spoke with Dr. Geigel and explained the situation that we have to put our dog down. We felt the medications may have contributed to this and felt like we should get a full or partial credit back from the $336 vet bill. However, Dr Geigel said, Prove it. My husband said how do we do that? Dr Geigel said, You Cant. After 28 years of retaining my loyalty to the Clinic, I was astonished, in her response. No empathy, just dollar signs are what concerned her. Needless to say, we will be finding another another Veterinary Clinic.

2022-02-08My lab had a rotten tooth and instead of giving her antibiotics they sent me home and told me she needed to see a dentist. Two weeks later my dearly loved dog had to be put down. Do not trust these ignorant scam artists.

2021-09-08They were WONDERFUL! I have a blind pit bull terrier with a bite history and told them all this. They still had me bring her in without having to drug her and they did such a good job with her. She wasn’t nervous at all. They were fast to greet me from my car and answered every question I had. I’m new to being a dog owner so there were many questions but than answered each and everyone one.
