This public pool is kept clean and it has a family friendly environment. The large pool is divided into three sections. The shallow portion of the pool is very big. The middle portion of the pool reaches a gradual depth of 6 feet. The deep end of the pool is 6 to 7 feet depending upon how full of water the pool is.An exciting feature of this public pool are its two tubular slides. The children I took to this pool were anxious to try the slides but were unable to do so because the pool did not have the staff to supervise the slides safely. This was a big disappointment everytime we went to this pool. The pool has a dressing room on the womens side with private stalls. These were clean. From what I have been told the mens side does not provide the same privacy for dressing. The womens bathroom has very few stalls and at times these were very dirty. The pool staff ask everyone to exit the pool every one (or sometimes every two ) hours. After everyone exits the pool there is a wait of 15 minutes and then swimmers are allowed back into the pool. The lifeguards are polite. The staff at the front desk, where swimmers are required to sign in, are consistently slightly irritable.Food and drinks are not allowed in the pool area. There are a few picnic sites around the outside of the pool area that can be reached easily.Parking in front of the pool is limited. There is an overflow parking lot within a block of the pool. This is not my personal favorite of San Antonios public pools. However, it is a nice enough pool and I would encourage anyone reading this to try it out.
It is a beautiful Park to take stroll with your kids & pets. Swimming pool is not cool enough gets hot after awhile. No Shade at all gets even hotter when it gets crowded w/ a lot of people. Best to go early in the morning for a walk & late in the evening. That is when the weather cools down a little bit though sometimes w/ a breeze.
The pool management gets a big “F” for today! It’s Sunday on Memorial Day weekend. This is one of the only pools open this weekend. You’d think they’d nail it - nope!Gate opened at 1pm and they informed the massive crowd that there was pump issues, and they just called maintenance. 20 minutes later they start pouring in chemicals. An hour later, maintenance still hasn’t arrived.Awful management! This is a problem that should have been identified hours before opening. They ruined the family plans of hundreds of people through their management incompetence. On a bright note, we drove up to Lady Bird Pool and it was awesome. Save yourself the hassle and make the drive.
The city has done alot of upgrades to the park with a walking trail, lots wild life. Its has a lake in the middle where you can fish. The park is very clean with picnic tables, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts. The city has put alot of effort in keeping this clean and well maintained. Very people friendly. Make an effort to visit this park you wont regret it.
Best occasion for celebrations @ Woodlawn Park are; (4th Of July) (The Day Of The Dead) (Easter) These festivities and Special Events occurs once a year. They come along with a carnaval & games. Lots of food & drinks and music to your feet! Ohh, Lets Not Forget The Main Even That Lights uP The Sky At Night. (The fireworks!! ) Great Place To Go Visit With Many Other Public Amenities.. Good thing Were Only a couple blocks away from it all..👍 Thanks San Antonio for make it happen...
I moved to Beacon Hill 6 years ago and spend nearly every day at Woodlawn lame park. Beautiful lake with a 1.3 mi walking track and 1 of the largest public pools in the city! The parks and rec dept rebuilt the nearly 100 yr old pool in 2021-2022 and it is is fabulous ;). Lap swimming early AM and free swim at 1 PM :). So glad I get to enjoy it this summer!

2022-07-01Personally Ive never swam here but, I walk by here every morning. The way theyve remodeled the pool looks fantastic. They have added coverage for shade too. I would definitely swim here now looks great!

2019-06-26This is one of my familys favorite public pools, (& weve been to most). Its clean, very large w/ a deep end of 9ft, has two water slides & an attentive staff (aka lifeguards). Keep in mind, this is a public pool, not the Ritz w/ a spa & cabana boy. With that, bring just a towel, sunblock & h2o. You can check your valuables @ the desk. If youre unsure of the rules, go to SA parks website. The pool is FREE. It can get crowded, so the best times to go are btwn 1 & 3pm weekdays. As San Antonio residents, were all fortunate to have such a great asset readily available.

2021-09-12It was my first time going to this public pool. I will definitely be returning! The staff was so friendly and polite! The pool was clean and very well kept. Plenty of lifeguards on duty and on top of things. Nice surrounding area. Pool opened at 1pm.

2021-07-20The pool is really nice. We went at about 1pm on a Tuesday and in the beginning there were barely any people there but it picked up around 2.Please note that you CANNOT wear goggles with the nose piece. Goggles without the nose piece are fine. Dont run (obviously) and during the time that the life guards take their break STAY OUT AND AWAY FROM THE POOL! They will blow their whistles over and over so just do it as a courtesy! During the break, the life guards got in the pool so let them swim!

2021-08-23Very spacious. One end is shallow and the other 10ft deep. The facility itself has restrooms, stalls to change in, and showers to rinse off. Open Tues-Sun noon I wana say is when it opens but they close at 8pm for sure. The staff is pretty great too. Closed on Mondays and on Sept 26th for the season. Hope yall enjoy!

2021-09-06The pool is lovely but it’s ashame nothing is done about the young kids with loud foul language and inappropriate behavior. Life guards allow and not tend to this issue which ruins the visit for everyone. We won’t return.
